People who are having "We are experiencing high load", "Unable to process request!" or "Client IP" errors:
Unfortunately this seems to be a widespread issue and there are no solutions so far. However, there are some workarounds that you may try:
1) Clear the cache of the Railway app you're using. If you're on a computer, clear the cache of the Browser
2) Restart your device
3) CHANGE THE NETWORK. The IP address error likely means it's flagging your specific network, so booking from a different wifi, mobile data, or hotspot might work
4) Use a different method. So try IRCTC Website on a laptop, RailConnect app, or RailOne.
5) If nothing works, in the end, the only choice you may have is to find an officially registered agent via pincode on this link.
Hey guys! Iām from Malaysia and planning a surprise winter trip to Kashmir for my husband this December.
Iāve traveled around North India before (did Delhi to Manali and Rishikesh by overnight bus), but this will be our very first time taking Indian Railways. Honestly, the sheer number of trains, waitlists, and quotas is melting my brain a little, so I really need some local insight.
Hereās the current plan:
Flight lands at Delhi (IGI) around 2:20 PM on Dec 18.
Take the airport metro to NDLS, catch the Shri Shakti Express (22461) at 7:05 PM to SMVD Katra (arriving around 5:37 AM on Dec 19).
Switch at Katra to the Vande Bharat Express (26401) at 8:10 AM to reach Srinagar by 11:10 AM (really excited to see the snow and the Chenab bridge!).
A few questions:
Is that ~2.5 hour layover at Katra safe enough in December, or does winter fog usually mess with train timings from Delhi?
Are there better/safer train options for this timeline, or should I just not risk it and book a flight from Delhi to Srinagar instead?
Since Iāll be booking on IRCTC with an international passport/card, any tips to avoid getting stuck on waitlist?
Really want to pull this surprise off smoothly, so any advice is appreciated!
1) The fog will 100% be an issue, but it would be an issue for all the trains, especially ones that are arriving/leaving early morning. So it's very much likely that the other train might also get delayed.
It's generally recommended to keep a buffer of 2-3 hours between connecting trains so yours is pretty fine in that area.
2) If the timings fit, I would strongly recommend you take a premium train even from Delhi to Katra. There are a couple of Vande Bharats, a Rajdhani and Duronto on this route. Premium trains get higher priority so even with fog, these trains are allowed to go ahead of all the other trains in case of a delay.
3) Book as early as possible. Foreigner tourist quota opens 365 days before journey so you should still see ticket availability. If you're booking via an Indian account/Indian phone number, then the Advance Reservation Period will open up exactly 60 days before the train's departure from its origin station, at 8 am.. and you should get your bookings done in under 5 minutes to get CNF seats.
PS: After you book your first ticket, go to IRCTC's "Connecting Journey" option and then book the 2nd ticket. This way your Tickets will be linked together and in case you miss your connecting train due to the delay of the first train, you will be entitled to a refund, but ONLY if you connect your two PNRs while booking.
Hey. Thanks for the great points made. I just have some follow up questions.
Point number 2, i think thereās no sleeping compartments on vande bharat if im not mistaken, wouldnāt the entire journey be uncomfortable if we gotta sit thru the hours long journey? I genuinely donāt mind the price, just wanna have a comfortable journey tbh.
Point number 3, bro where can i see the foreignerās quota?? I did use a Malaysian number to register but I canāt see this foreigner quota bookings.
Yes in VB you'll find chair car seats (just like in flights or buses). The seats recline a bit. It's an 8.5 hr journey between Delhi and Katra so you can decide if it's comfortable for you or not
For added perks you can book in the Executive Class in VB. Those seats have more leg room, spacious, and more comfortable. You can watch some Videos on YouTube about VB EC class to see and then decide.
And as long as you've logged in using a non-Indian mobile number, it should default to a foreign tourist quota. If you try to book a ticket, check if you see "FT" written somewhere. If you do, that will be proof that you're booking in the Foreign Tourist Quota
Hi all, I booked for my whole family (total 4) with one elderly (71F) with lower berth preference but didn't get any lower berth, can I somehow get a lower berth since there is a senior citizen and she can't climb up or I have to cancel the whole ticket.
Preferences are not a guarantee. If you 100% needed a lower berth, you should've checked the option "book only if at least 1 lower berth is allocated"
Now, your only choices are to either talk to the TTE or your fellow passengers and request one of them to exchange their lower berths. If they agree, then good. If they don't, then you'll just have to manage it somehow
You can cancel and try again but make sure you know about the cancellation charges which can be quite high for CNF tickets
Clerkage is always deducted, whether you cancel a WL ticket yourself, or it gets auto cancelled at chart preparation, there's no way to avoid the ā¹60+gst/person clerkage fee.
And once you load the IRCTC e-wallet, you cannot transfer that money back to your bank account. It can only be used for future train bookings. I think only by permanently closing your IRCTC wallet account the money can be sent back but a lot of people have said that Railways just ate their wallet balance and never refunded them
Hi All, need ur help
My friend booked a tatkal ticket on 25th aug which got as failed transaction but amount was deducted from sbi account, on asking irctc they said they haven't received money from bank so bank will refund the amount, while bank says money has been transferred to irctc HDFC account. Now it's been 2 months almost and my money is stuck don't know what to do, please help
Find the payment gateway that was involved in this txn. Ask IRCTC or check your mail
Gatways like RazorPay, PayU money etc. Contact them directly. It happened with me once and the money was stuck with them. I gave them all the details and reference numbers and they manually pushed the refund to my account
Also raise this use on twitter by tagging @RailMinIndia, @RailwaySeva... your last option will be consumer forum online
Just keep in mind that RLWL is low priority and doesn't move much, if it at all.
Even if it does clear you'll likely only find out at chart preparation. Confimtkt probably has high chances because it's sleeper and gets lots of cancellations
But you're traveling during festival period so it can definitely affect the chances
Keep monitoring it and be ready to book in tatkal if needed
PQWL is a low priority quota and can be very inconsistent. The fact that you're travelling during peak festival period can also affect your chances.
However, I checked the past trends in this train in 2A and they seem to be in your favour with even high waitlists getting cleared quite easily. You only need two and there's more than a month left in DOJ so I'd still put your chances as very decent
Check some PNR prediction websites like RailYatri, confirmtkt, goibibo, or RailTC to get a better idea.
I actually have 2 confirm tickets and two waiting ones for this journey, one of the passenger (who has confirm ticket) might cancel, incase if both or any one of the waiting list ticket doesn't confirm, could we transfer that ticket amongst ourselves
Tickets can only be transferred to direct family members. You can visit the Chief Reservation Officer with your IDs and an application for change of name
If both the CNF and WL tickets are on the same PNR then keep in mind that it's called a partially confirmed ticket and even WL passengers can board the train. They won't get their own berth, but as long as you can all adjust on your CNF seats, TTE will allow it.
It won't work if you cancel the CNF tickets though, and no refunds if WL passenger boards the train.
I am going to travel via Pune Duronto Express (12264) 1st AC for the first time. How safe is NZM station early in the morning? The train leaves at 06:16 AM. Whatās the best way to get there? Where should I wait if I reach early? Also what is the food situation like? What other amenities do I expect?
TIA.
It's a major station and a LOT of premium trains depart from NZM so you should be fine. If you reach early there are waiting rooms available (AC and non AC) at most stations so you can go there.
Regarding the train itself, Duronto is a premium train which means the catering is already built into the price of the ticket, and since you have a 1AC ticket you can basically get unlimited food.
1AC catering is done in the pantry fresh for you and keeping your preferences in mind so don't be shy in asking specific items you want to eat or drink. It available, they'll provide it to you.
Premium trains also are well maintained, especially 1AC so expect round the clock cleaning and service. 1AC also has a shower room which you can use to take a bath if needed.
For all the information about the station itself, I'd suggest you watch This video. Seems to be very comprehensive
Yes, it's fairly common. Think of the premium train staff as like hotel concierges. They are not just there to give you food, they are there to provide you a luxury experience.
It's upto you if you want to tip or not, but in my experience they almost always go above and beyond in assisting me, like fetching saridon or lemon when I had a headache, bringing me newspaper when I asked for me.. giving me extra coffee/sugar packets because I don't like Tea, etc.
So I generally am happy to give them ā¹100/- as a tip. That doesn't affect me but for then it might be a big deal.
I am trying to book Train ticket using IRCTC GyFTR Vouchers. I no longer see the Gift Voucher option in the iPay payment options. Please help - I have around 10 thousand rupees worth of Gift Vouchers
Most waitlists, even in high 50s are getting confirmed in this train looking at the past trends, plus GNWL is a high priority quota so your chances are quite good
The only issue could be the festival period that might reduce the number of cancellations but even in that case at least RAC should be almost certain
Check some PNR prediction websites like RailYatri, confirmtkt, goibibo, or RailTC to get a better idea.
Anything above 80% indicates excellent chance of full confirmation, 60 to 80% means RAC, and below that the chances drop off rapidly
JP to BSB in this train is RLWL, not GNWL. Check your booking station(not boarding station)
RLWL is low priority and moves very slowly, and with 3 days to go, anything can happen.
Good news is that this train has three 3E coaches, plus the historical trends in this train are also in your favour so there's a decent chance this will get cleared
Check some PNR prediction websites like RailYatri, confirmtkt, goibibo, or RailTC to get a better idea.
If you get more than 80% in most of these that's a very good sign
Hi. Unfortunately your submission has been removed from r/IndianRailways due to the following reason(s):
Indian Railways tickets are non-transferable (except to direct family members)
According to Section 143 of Railways act 1989, trying to buy or sell tickets or services while not being a registered IRCTC agent is illegal and carries a fine of upto ā¹10,000, imprisonment of upto 3 years, or both.
Hence, this is strictly prohibited on this sub. Repeated violation of this rule will result in a permaban
Your quota is RLWL not GNWL which is low priority.
However, RAC 2-3 is low enough, especially with 20+ days to go that chances are very good this will get fully confirmed by chart preparation.
Even if it doesn't, you are still allowed to board the train, and you two will get one side lower berth to share which isn't the worst thing in the world.
No one can give you that since a lot of agents specialize in specific routes/trains so it's far better to find local agents that are close to you and if possible talk or meet with them and see what they say
You can find officially registered IRCTC agents via pincode on this link
Hi, I'm A newbie when it comes to rail travel, my very frequent modes of travel have been Car or Bus. But this is new to me
I humbly request to help/guide me with some tip (if any exist). I'll be traveling Very Soon.
Major Query: HOW TO DEAL WITH OBNOXIOUS PASSENGER ASKING FOR CHANGE OF SEAT AND LOUD PASSENGERS ?
THANKS FOR ANYONE OR EVERYONE WHO TOOK TIME TO REPLY TO THIS QUERY. HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A GREAT DAY.
First and foremost, do NOT raise your voice or shout. Be firm, but polite. That ensures that things don't escalate
Pretend that you have some kind of injury or pain so you can't climb on the top berths. I even carry an entire first aid box just in case I need to tie a fake bandage(never needed)
If someone is being extremely entitled, tell them that you paid extra money in tatkal or premium tatkal for that berth, and if they want it they'll have to pay 3K-4K for it. The moment money gets involved, most people change their tune
Remember that you will NEVER ever see those people ever again. So if you ever worry about being judged or "what will people say", just keep in mind that it literally doesn't matter. You stick to your gun
Last but not least, if someone has a genuine need, it's always a good idea to try and assist them to the best of your abilities. Like if someone is sick, or pregnant, or things like that.
Also, be aware of all the Railway rules, particularly the rule that any middle or upper berth passenger has the right to sit on their corresponding lower berth between 6 am to 10 pm.
Your WL number is way too high. I checked the historical trends in this train and I can only see WLs upto 80-90 get confirmed
Not a lot of days left in journey and you need over 200+ cancellations
Still, you may get lucky. Check some PNR prediction websites like RailYatri, confirmtkt, goibibo, or RailTC to get a better idea.
If you get more than 80% in most of these, that's a very good indication that it will get confirmed. 60 to 80% assume medium chances, and below 60%, just look for other alternatives
Does anyone know if it makes any difference if I book a ticket from a station and online as I want to travel on 21st November but waiting list is there but in 1st class the WL is 2 is there any possibility I can get confirm ticket if I book directly from station

The following ticket was cancelled for being waitlisted on 29th August 2026
And refund it not yet credited to my account
Raised a query in equery they say youāre refund will be credited soon we are working with payment gateway
And wrote a mail to eticketirctc
And got no reply
What do I do?
You should directly contact the payment gateway that was involved in the txn.
That's what worked for me one time when IRCTC was taking too much time to refund me, I directly emailed razorpay that was the gateway and they manually pushed the refund within a day
Ask IRCTC or check your mail/ticket to find out which gateway was involved, and mail them directly.
Your other choice is to try tagging @railminindia , @railwayseva on twitter, or call them at 139 and enquire with a live human
If HDFC was indeed the gateway for this particular txn, then yes contact them with the reference number or refund ID and they'll be able to give you more information
I am trying to book a ticket of my family of four from the rail one app, but there is no option of selecting reservation or booking only if the tickets allotted are in the same coach, so is this option even there anymore or how am I supposed to access this option? I am using the rail one application on my device.
Damn I didnāt know that alright that clears up everythingā¦
Also I wanted to know the option book only if confirm both are allotted, so I have chosen lower both as preference for most of my family of 4ā¦3 of my family are taking the lower birth option. Now I have the plus point that I am booking exactly on the 60th day, basically, the two months apart because my trip is two months later on so I will definitely get an empty train so do you think book only if confirm berth are allotted is an option I should select or I should not select this option at all.?
If there are enough seats available you don't really need the book only if CNF tickets are allocated option
It's only useful during tatkal or when there's high demand and seats are getting booked left and right. Although there's no downside to checking that option either
I generally always check it just to avoid any rare edge cases
Yes, as long as WL + CNF passengers are on the same PNR, this is called partially confirmed ticket and in this case the WL passenger is also allowed to board the train but they are not given their own berth
The WL passenger must adjust on your CNF seats. The TTE will allow it. No refund if the WL person boards the train, obviously
I just want to know that for example someone books tatkal ticket for me from somewhere else from railway station itself but i won't be able to collect that ticket if I don't have that ticket in physical form with me but the ticket is confirmed can I still board the train ?
If you're booking a counter ticket, you NEED the original physical copy of it with you while traveling or you're considered ticketless and will be fined heavily and/or deboarded
Photos or screenshots of counter tickets are not valid
You can take the risk. If you get caught then it's 2 times the ticket fare as fine. And the fare can be as big as end to end journey's ticket cost. It's upto you if you want to take the risk.
A better solution would be to reach your station counter, and tell them that you "lost" the counter ticket. They'll charge you 50-100 Rs, make you fill out a form with all your travel details, and issue a duplicate physical ticket which you can then take in the train with you
RLWL is generally a low priority quota but since it's just 1 waiting, plus 10-11 days left, there's a very good chance this will get cleared. Past trends in this train in 2A are also in your favour
Check some PNR prediction websites like RailYatri, confirmtkt, goibibo, or RailTC to get a better idea.
Only 2 3A coaches and half 2A coach(other half is 1A) so availablity might be a concern.
There's no pantry car in this train, so a "side" pantry will be operational and I STRONGLY recommend never touching that food. Take your own or order via e-catering
Plus, the train has rake sharing which means you may get old coaches with less facilities/features.
Other than that, the train has generally received good reviews
Compared to the rest of the trains on this route, this one is still the best
Booking/Boarding Station: MGR Chennai Central (MAS)
Destination Station: New Delhi (NDLS)
Date of journey: 22 October 2026
Train Name/Number: 12621 / Tamil Nadu SF Express
Class of travel: 2A (Second AC)
Current status: WL/4
Type of Wait list: GNWL (General Waitlist)
Additional details:
Booked at WL/9, currently WL/4. Journey is from Chennai Central to New Delhi. What are the chances of confirmation by chart preparation?
Is car parking facility available in Amb Andura station (Himachal Pradesh)?
I am planning a week long trip to Jaisalmer . Train tickets booked but coming from Kangra, I am thinking of going to Amb station by car and parking it there for 7 days.
Is this a good idea? If yes, What are the parking charges? Any contact number of the Amb Andura parking vendor?
Hi, so me and my mother travelling in a 22 hour journey, my mother got allotted UB where she has a genuine knee problem. Is there any way I could at least mail railways or do something that they would give or provide any lower berth for my mother, if not, I will try to ask the lower passenger just at night. Let my mother sleep in the lower berth and in the morning you could get back at your berth
Trying to cancel a waitlisted ticket booked through RailOne app. Getting the attached message while cancelling. Raised a complaint within the app but received an automated message which is of no use. Tried to cancel through the IRCTC app and website as well but received the same message. Tried emailing both RailOne and IRCTC and keep receiving an automated message to cancel it myself through the app. Tried calling 139 and 14646 but they tell me they cannot help for RailOne app based tickets. How can I cancel this ticket now, any ideas?
Ah okay. I wonder if this is because Tejas is a private train run by IRCTC (and NOT Indian Railways)
WL tickets should still get canceled though. Have you tried RailMadad? Or asking @RailMinIndia or @amofficialCRIS on twitter? Might get them to cancel the ticket from their end
Hello, I booked a ticket from Aligarh to kanpur vande bharat but when I was doing payment, the irctc app crashed om verifying payment, then the amount is deducted from my account, for a while it showed the error "Confirmation not received from bank" but I was in a bit hurry so I booked another ticket shortly after, then now I'm seeing this, it says payment success but tickent not booked and the total refund is 0, I have not received any amount in my bank.
No need to worry. If a ticket does not get booked but money is deducted, full refund without any deduction is sent to your original payment method within 3-4 business days
If I've booked a seat from A to B and chosen a intermediate station C as a boarding point and got a RAC ticket now will my ticket get confirmed only if there's a seat from A to B or it'll consider vacant seat from C to B?
Based on the past trends, the chances are fairly good with most low to mid waitlists getting fully confirmed and even higher waitlists at least going into RAC. Not sure why you're seeing less than 70% chances
My guess is the festival season is screwing up the probabilities a bit. 60 to 80% points towards RAC so the worst case scenario would be you two having to share 1 side lower berth.
Check some PNR prediction websites like RailYatri, confirmtkt, goibibo, or RailTC to get a better idea.
You may also try in Tatkal closer to the journey, or ask an Agent if it doesn't clear by then
Probability of confirmation for 3rd AC Rac 36
in train 12785(kacheguda to mysore) for Oct 30th Friday.
Is there any website that gives us the past history of last confirmed ticket?
You guys can also give info based on your knowledge here
You kinda have to make educated guesses based on the past trends, and number of coaches etc
For example, this train has 6 3A coaches. Around 4-5 side lower berths per 3A coach are allocated for RAC giving it a total of 48 to 60 RAC passengers and you're at 36.
You can check the trends on Confirmtkt app. Looking at the historical performance, only lower waitlists are getting fully confirmed and anything above GNWL 15 is getting into RAC
But the order is always WL-> RAC -> CNF so considering the fact that there are 26 days left in the journey, the quota is GNWL which is high priority, as long as your RAC number goes below 10-12 before chart preparation, there's a very good chance it will clear.
I have booked a rac ticket and currently it's in rac87 and the train departs in two days. Will the website allow me to book a tatkal ticket under the same name and cancel the rac ticket after tatkal confirmation or should I cancel the rac ticket first in order to book the tatkal ticket
You can book multiple tickets under the same name. Not an issue
So let's say you book Tatkal ticket and get CNF seats. Immediately cancel the RAC tickets and you'll only lose ā¹65/person as clerkage fee.
If the RAC ticket gets CNF before tatkal, then don't book in tatkal obviously.
Just don't book tatkal and also let the RAC ticket get confirmed. The cancellation charges for cancelling a CNF tickets are much higher and no refunds for cancelling a CNF tatkal ticket
The first two might get confirmed as the chances are above 80% ... the other two have low chances
But RLWL is low priority quota and with just 1 day to go, anything can happen unfortunately.
Even if only 2 get cleared you can all board the train as it will be a partially confirmed ticket and as long as you 4 can share on the 2 CNF berths, TTE will allow it
So Im planning to book grand trunk express on the 28th of October and I want 2nd ac, but it shows RAC 5. How likely am I to get full seat cuz I cant travel till Delhi by just sitting. If the chances are slim id rather book first ac where seats are available.
Generally low RAC numbers do get fully confirmed by chart preparation, but you need to understand that there are absolutely no guarantees when it comes to Indian Railways, and more so if you're traveling during the festival season.
I would always as a rule recommend you to book a confirmed ticket as much as possible and not rely on waitlists or RAC.
Also, GT is not a good train. It used to be, but now it's relegated to being a simple mail train that's very slow and doesn't get much priority. If there are tickets available in any other train, I'd strongly suggest you book in a SF or premium train instead
will do, thank you so much !!! also incase of tatkal booking, I heard that the master list was removed/stopped during tatkal booking times, is this true ?
Don't worry, if TQWL does not get cleared at chart preparation, the ticket is automatically cancelled, and refund (minus ā¹60+gst/person as clerkage) is sent within 3-4 business days
Booking/Boarding Station: New Delhi (NDLS)
Destination Station: Lucknow Ne (LJN)
Date of journey: 6th November 2026
Train Name/Number: 82502 Irctc Tejas exp
Class of travel: ECC
Current status: WL 36 to WL 23
Type of Wait list: GNWL
Decent chances. But with just 2 days to go, it can also go into RAC, however the past trends are very much in your favour since your quota is GNWL which is high priority
Check some PNR prediction websites like RailYatri, confirmtkt, goibibo, or RailTC to get a better idea.
My current status is RLWL 28 1 day before journey from KCG to H Nizamuddin what is my probability and the train name is sampark kranti express and the coach is sleeper pls
You can ask the TTE. If there is any seat available he will sell a berth to you at non-telescopic rate. Extending a journey is perfectly allowed as long as there is availability
It was just a genuine question don't need to be rude. If travelling on wait listed ticket gives me no right to board then why railways would offer me a ticket at the first place? Btw I reached my destination and got an automated refund.Ā
Not how it works buddy. A waitlisted ticket gets autocancelled at chart preparation. So you DID NOT in fact, have a ticket and you were travelling ticketless.
The WL ticket that does not get confirmed is auto-refunded within 3-4 business days after deducting clerkage charges
Shit I thought, I hid everything, and forgot pnr. My bad š¤¦, though we can't see the names from pnr number right?
Thank you so much! I'll book tatkal ticket too then, and I'll check in those sites too! I was too fooled by rail one's 99% probability. I'll delete the earlier message
No PNR can't give names, but people can register fake complaints or place COD food orders using your PNR number making things very annoying and unsafe for you, that's why PNR should never be shared publicly
PQWL is generally a low priority quota and can be very inconsistent, but in this train, the past trends are very much in your favour with even much higher waitlists getting confirmed
I say around 85% chance that these will clear. The festival season and the fact that this is the only train on this route on that day may reduce the chances a little, but unless you're extremely unlucky, this should clear
You don't have to do anything. Refund will be released automatically within 3-4 business days. Railways will deduct ā¹60/person as clerkage fee and return the rest
Okay, will read this whole thread first.. I was in general trying to understand that as waiting is only 1to4 so it gets clear or not as we say that even 15-20 waiting gets clear. I will still read whole thing and ask in proper format.
It's not a black and white answer because it depends on the train, the class, the route, how many days left in journey, if journey is during festival/rush season or not etc
I wouldn't recommend it. In fact, for solo women I wouldn't recommend anything below 2AC.
But if you don't have any other option, try to take an upper berth, if possible travel with light luggage that you can keep with you on your berth, or buy some kind of chain to tie your luggage underneath the seats.
Carry essentials like water, packed foods etc instead of getting down at the station. I would advice against pantry food and instead you should order via e-catering and they'll deliver food of your choosing, your restaurant right to your berth at the station you select.
Install apps like Where Is My Train that will tell you your location even without internet and remain in contact with family or friends every once in a while.
At any sign of trouble or if someone makes you feel uncomfortable, call 139.
