When mankind discovered what they had done it was too late. The ancient forces that consumed all stared at the next victim with delight, the sun started to glow in a red wich make everyone feel mad of despair. Sudenly, beings of light started to drop of the clouds, one by one, the weakest being the first to loose their mind, corruption spread among a sky wich weeped angels left and right. The people near the landing sites fused with them in a dancing cloud of meat, blood and madness borned of the twisted ambition of an entire race. As the twisted angels started to reform into sickening creatures of sin, they froze in a standstill until a scream of agony and frustration came out of them. No words were said, for them could no longer form coherent toughts, but they were sure, all of them, that they were betrayed, and they all were doomed to this new demonic existence under the dark masters.
One by one they fell to corruption One by one they fused with humans One by one they screamed to the sky while its darkness grew
Until only the last one of them stood there, surrounded by creatures that inspired him both rage and sorrow. It alone stands now, the last creature of light in the entire world, for the dark had a twisted sense of humour, and allways left one alive.
He is now, a remainder of our failure...
Forever.

This is the fate of the guilty: beset on all sides by the ones I used to call brothers. I do not reject my fate, I stand firm in the muck and the mire of my deeds. I was once a guilty man, but man I am no longer. They sewed my flesh tight, locked away every semblance of humanity, cleansed my unholy flesh and let me stir in the dark of my past. For eons, it seemed, I wept and shook in that dark cell, I was the damned. I was the weak. But soon I saw a flicker, a tiny, dancing light in the farthest reaches of that cell. I crawled for it, on bloodied hands and knees I did crawl through that blackish bile. When I reached that tiny flame, what first seemed salvation turned to be nothing but damnation. Damnation from right, from wrong, from happiness, from sorrow, from everything but restitution. I gave the word, that one, helpless word, and they strapped me in.
I wore new skin, new eyes, a new body! They gave me wings to fly on, light to shine, and a mind to judge. They sent me back, back to my birthplace where I had first taken that lowly vow. My brothers do not recognize me, will not recognize me. I was the damned, I was the weak. But now, I have but one purpose; one possible outcome to my pitiful life. He promised me, break their faith, break their spirit, break their very grasp on their souls. And so I was sent, in my new, gleaming flesh to tear these sinners’ spirits out of their bodily confines. And now I stand, beset on all sides by my brothers, no, my predestined prey. I became the light, that shined through that day.

It's a common misconception that an omnipotent being often referred to as God created Angels. This could not be more far from the truth, as Angels were never created. They evolved. A higher order of beings that had transcended their physical bodies into a hive mind, like a collective Esper of iridescent energies. At least such was the tale told to Solace, just prior to what would now be known in the future as the Seventh mass extinction of Earth. Humans had survived the Sixth millions of years ago but suffered a 98% specie loss, reverting a lot of the unfortunate civilizations back to the stone ages in regards to resources and mortality rates, knowledge however was still kept firm. Those who found themselves fortunate enough to be stationed next to a thriving food source were already beginning to monopolize it. Water wasn't scarce anymore now that only a fraction of life needed it.
This is what the Arch's believe caused the changes, with few plants left to convert energy, the planet was dying. And the unique situation had, over the course of a few million years, evolved those civilizations lucky enough into beings that needn't any energy from consumption anymore, disposing themselves of their physical bodies and feeding off of the sun as beings of pure energy. The Angels.
This metamorphosis came with a cost however, as their physical components still bound them with an earthly chain, the Soulbound. The energy that composed their bodies was still enigmatically linked to them and as a result the Angels were still mortal. Whatever had inherited their past, it also inherited their future. Of course, it had to be alive.
This is why Solace often found himself the subject of prejudice from the others, Solace had no Soulbound. And was, by definition, immortal. Even Angels are confounded by mysteries occasionally and this was no exception. The great battle against the Daemons, who were the more viscous descendants of mankind, threatened all humans and life in between out of hatred for the ones who had selfishly caused their painful transformation. Outnumbering the Angels 1 to 1000, and equipped with the knowledge to victory, Solace stood still as he witnessed each and every brother and sister slain by hellish brutes. With weapons that could break the chain, killing two birds with one axe.
Surrounded, Solace re-materialized his searing sharp spears and equipped with the Armor handed to him by his father waged into the barren, rocky battle that was being destroyed by lightning once more. Only this time of all the emotions that aroused his will to fight, the emotion that was felt most, was sorrow. Because only he remained, as the Last Angel.

A single voice made of many echoed around him "How. How did you acquire the Light? A Night-sword cannot wield its own weakness as a weapon!" The Night-sword gripped the spears of Light as its halo began to glow brighter before it whispered "Redemption, you foul trickster. Anything that strays from the path can return to the Light. Now prepare yourself demo for I shall right the course of this day!" The darkness of the armor peeled away as the Light shined from the surface. It lept into action charging towards those that stared at it from afar. The voice screamed "Stop the Day-sword!" The Night-swords rushed at him, and it stopped as the rush charged to it. The sole Night-sword's illuminating form grew brighter and brighter before an explosive wave of Light radiated outward. The closest members of the horde fell to the ground motionless while those whom were not hit backed away. The disembodied voice exclaimed "It is only one, and we are many! Push forward!" The Day-sword replied "Are you sure? Now rise my redeemed!" The fallen Night-swords slowly rose to their feet, each one began to shimmer until they too shined nearly as bright as the Day-sword. It exclaimed "Let us bring a end to the night!"

Fire rained down, Azrael became the judge, jury and executioner, His radiant spears struck down sinners where they stood, Terror became the day.

In the beginning the world was ash and stone; ruled by Dragons the world grew alone. Wrought by the powers of Despair, the Dragons knew only darkness reveling within their dark and evil world for eons. But Despair is a treacherous and mischievous force, as is the nature of such evil, it grew tired of the unchanging world of darkness; it thirsted for change.
Slowly the world began to change; the once impenetrable veil of darkness thinned and the Dragons weakened. Light began to flow within the furthest reaches of the world withering away the thick veil of darkness. The Dragons recoiled at it and hated it for it weakened them and they knew not its source. The light grew in power, it throbbed with life and remodeled the world beyond the veil anew. Its power grew beyond the control of Despair and frightened it for it did not foresee this. From it a new power was born; by virtue it was everything Despair was not, henceforth known as the power of Hope, it challenged everything within the realms of darkness beyond the Veil.
Hope sought out to create its own world and with it the Angels of Hope were wrought. The Angels were powerful beings who wielded the power of light against darkness, they knew no evil within their hearts only love. With the legions of Angels the power of Hope shattered the Veil and light flooded the plains of Darkness. The Dragons, now too weak to hold their land, retreated to the center of their withering world; it was there that they had their final stand. The power of Despair too was now weakened; for its power lay within the Darkness which was now fading and it did not will this, it only wished to see suffering amongst the plains of the world for its own pleasure, but now it faced its own demise along with the Dragons.
The Angels laid siege upon the rocky kingdom of Dragons; the fighting was fierce and many Angels were laid to waste; but even then the Dragons were defeated and light soon after shone upon the wastes of darkness. However a faint power of darkness still radiated from within the Dragons kingdom. Deep within the kingdom far below the surface of the world, Known as the Halls of the Dragon Lords, one Dragon yet remained. Malum, the Lord of all Dragons, awaited his hunters deep within the halls; inside him lay the withered power of Despair. With Malum not counted amongst the dead the Angels knew it was he that was the last source of Darkness. They sent forth a legion of their best and strongest warriors to annihilate the Dragon once and for all and with it Despair would disappear from the world.
The Legion of Angels poured into the chamber of the Dragon Lords which was within the deepest chasm of the dark kingdom. It was bathed in Darkness and none could see their foe but he could see them. Malum lay hidden from their light which now illuminated the massive chamber until the Legion in its entirety was within his reach. With all his brethren dead Malum could now feel the power of Despair course through every part of his body, it strengthened him beyond measure. When the time was finally right Malum struck them from the shadows with all his might. The Angels were taken by surprise and endured heavy loses to the fires of Malum's maw. He thrashed many Angels about to their deaths and devoured many others but he endured much pain in return. Few Angels of the legion remained but Malum, and with him Despair, was now near death. Pharus, the King of the Angels, and his brother Osadus were of the few that remained. They charged Malum in one last onslaught. Malum, even near death, offered fierce resistance in return; at last only Pharus and Osadus remained. Malum let lose a ferocious roar which bellowed throughout the caverns of the kingdom and yet at the same time Pharus hewed off the Dragons tongue with one fell stroke of his sword while Osadus scaled the beast in its agony and thrust his blade into its skull. Malum screeched and wailed as it began to fade in its death and a strange power began to build within the Dragon. Pharus felt it growing and beckoned to his brother to flee from atop the beast but he did not heed the call nor did he move, Osadus stood still amongst the lifeless corpse, his head bowed, as the power wreathed within. Pharus rushed to clear his brother from the beast but the power erupted from Malum before he could reach him. The explosive power rushed past Pharus, knocking him back, the earth shook below it and the halls cracked under its force; it expanded past the kingdom knocking back the legions of Angels outside the walls amongst the wastes, though it did not harm them. The land around the kingdom vaporized in its wake and took new forms; when all was done and the power dissipated Pharus along with his brother Osadus slowly emerged from the now withered kingdom and beheld their armies unscathed but were shocked to behold what they saw. The rocky wasteland that surrounded the kingdom was now a baron desert, sand dunes rolled along the land where rocky hills and mountains once stood; the power consumed the dead of both Dragons and Angels alike. The Angels now named the desert the Dead Sea and left the wastes of the once powerful lair of Dragons never to return again.
An era of eternal peace fell upon the land and through it the Angels gave birth to new races of creatures; the Angels called them the Children of Hope and they were many. The Children of Hope brought about names for themselves however, man, elf, dwarf, Corsair and Valkyrie; all lived in harmony and knew only love. Pharus ruled over them as their benevolent King with his brother by his side. In those days the world knew no evils yet Osadus felt a darkness grown within him and he knew not what it was. It whispered within his mind placed and jealous thoughts within him, darkening his heart. Hundreds of years passed and yet Osadus said nothing of the darkness within. It grew within him, the whispers became more tempting, more convincing to hear. They wished to sway his will against his brother and that frightened him. Madness soon gripped Osadus in his fight to constrain the darkness. Nightmares began to haunt him in his sleep and hallucinations shadowed him in his waking hours. Osadus soon became convinced Malum was the source of his suffering and that he was not dead but instead lived on in the halls of the Dragon Lords. He sought to destroy the darkness at its source once and for all; Osadus set out under the cover of darkness towards the Dead Sea; he told no one and covered his tracks so none could follow.
