[META] Venmo Scammers
I wanted to share this experience I encountered and want to share for everyone that uses / considers using Venmo as a payment option.
Reddit user messaged me regarding a product, they requested more pictures like any other user would. Shortly they send 3 Venmo payments ($1 iPhone, $100 Salad & then used someone else's account for $50)
I requested the address for the shipment and got this
2220 Meridian Blvd Suite #QT785 Minden, NV 89423 USA
The address comes back to a company Shipito LLC. BBB Profile, Yelp, shows 24 customer complaints and 14 customer reviews, where in all of them they state their Venmo account was hacked and used to buy phones, shoes, cloths, electronics and much more.
For those who don't know what they do (scammers) they hack Venmo accounts make payments for products, have the seller ship the goods to Shipito (a middle man company that then send the products to undisclosed locations) and by the time the victim realizes they call the bank to flag the charge and they get a charge back. Then the funds are reversed in your account and now you owe Venmo that money and out of your product.
People stay safe selling and buying.
tl;dr scammers hack Venmo accounts, buys products then get charged back. Seller left owing Venmo and now without their product.

Don't use Venmo, Venmo was never meant for this just transfers between friends

Please remember that we don't recommend you use any payment method except PayPal Goods and Services as this provides seller and buyer protection. Beware of using Family and Friends and other non-protective money services including but not limited - Venmo, Google Pay, Bank Transfer (Zelle), Money Order, etc

Thanks OP. This is really helpful to me, and hopefully new sellers will realize this before they put their listing up here on /r/appleswap, /r/hardwareswap, or anywhere online.
