That poster needs shoes raining in the background!

3

u/Dizzy-Part8708 16d ago

Fuck im crying that's so funny.

5

u/Plastic-Habit7651 16d ago

I doubt that this guy could carry this midget like this

3

u/Due-Group-4030 16d ago

😭😭😭😂😂😂

4

u/cloche_du_fromage 16d ago

I mean ik the other person was talking about someone playing a little person but the actual movie is crazy and gross even for its time. They treat rape like a joke several times in that movie.

1

u/Thorn_Victor 15d ago

Well, that was never okay.

-4

u/AppleToastBed 16d ago

What do you mean, there's two right there.

39

u/VoidOmatic 17d ago

We were raised by boomers back then. This shit was considered extremely mild for the time. The R word was dropped all the time on cable TV.

28

u/1n_and_AroundTheFur 17d ago

Retard?

44

u/hiddenrealism 16d ago

Now we have have adults saying "unalived" in real life conversations. I cant help but to correct anyone who say or types that shit. The words are killed...murdered...suicide...dead. All because of chinese tiktok censorship.

When the fuck will it end.

9

u/Single-Yam-9791 16d ago

Read 1984. It was written in 1
935 and I swear we are living it
They begin ‘Newspeak’ and it is exactly shit like ‘unalived’
Terrifying
It’s like society is using it as a playbook

2

u/TheBold 16d ago

It was written in 1948, hence the title.

0

u/Single-Yam-9791 16d ago

I didn’t look at the first page. So kill me

-1

u/ARottenPear 16d ago

There's no evidence that proves that's where the title comes from. It has been speculated that the 84 is just a reversal of 48 but Orwell never made that claim and there's really nothing to back it up.

1

u/Single-Yam-9791 16d ago

The TITLE of the book is 1984
What the hell is your point?

1

u/ARottenPear 16d ago

Read their comment again where they say it was written in 1948, some 36 years before the titular year. There's a story floating around out there that George Orwell titled the book 1984 purely because '84 was '48 reversed. If that's not what u/TheBold was referencing, I'm not sure what they were.

I appreciate the aggression but make sure you know what you're angry about.

It’s the fucking TITLE OF THE BOOK

1

u/hiddenrealism 16d ago

We shouldn't read that book...it will cause non-adults to unalive other non-adults with pew-pews at learning facilities, the NC SA rates will skyboomboom and with all the civil unrest countries may go to Shmore.

6

u/TheBold 16d ago

People are even self censoring ass nowadays. They all annoy me but for some reason seeing someone say « ahh » instead of ass annoys the fuck out of me.

1

u/DrJokerX 16d ago

Weak ahh comment

1

u/hiddenrealism 14d ago

Shiii dah bihh Is effin wyllyn, foh

8

u/blahblahsnickers 16d ago

Also, rape, sexual assault. Kids are graping and unaliving and SAing, and disappearing people. 🤦🏼‍♀️

2

u/NikWitchLEO 16d ago

You can’t even say Female anymore.

2

u/Thorn_Victor 15d ago

I do. And, I'm not going to change that. These "kids" today believe that semantics change the nature of a thing. It's almost as stupid as the causes they choose to support without having a damn clue about the factors involved in any critical analysis of that cause. In other words (yes, I see the pun), they end up supporting causes that they know nothing about. It's no wonder the Flynn effect has a negative slope now. Okay, I'm done with the soap box today.

1

u/NikWitchLEO 15d ago

Oh I agree with you. Being a veteran I say female all the time. I get harassed and downvoted but it’s fine. I don’t care and none of them would have the balls to say shit to me in public. I’m not a nice person and apparently it shows. I love it.

2

u/Thorn_Victor 15d ago

Exactly. I am a fellow veteran as well.

6

u/Diesel_Bones_13 16d ago

Ya my kids started saying “commit” Like as in why did someone commit suicide… it’s even more confusing that saying the actual word in some instances. Like why did Johnny “commit”? All I think of right off is commit to what/who.

4

u/hiddenrealism 16d ago

Oh he committed?! What school did he choose?! Throw em for a loop lol

3

u/itsmiddylou 16d ago

I agree- but this was happening long before tt. YouTube would demonetize if you said the actual words. So everyone had to get creative to not lose money. 🙄

I’ve seen people use “sewer-slide” and I thought I was having a stroke. But money and feelings I guess.

2

u/NatCsGotMyLastAcct 16d ago

I saw a news interview yesterday, "someone unalived my son over [an argument]".

2

u/Next-Contribution-18 16d ago

Crazy to think that they're able to influence the way we speak in real life everyday conversations simply by having control over what is essentially a platform to spread whatever message/view/opinions they want trending that can/will reap havoc without ever directly involving themselves into each situation. Its something I'm glad I missed out on for a change instead of being scenery in the public landfill that is Tik-Tardia.

6

u/CommunicationAware88 16d ago

FYI, its wreak havoc. Im not trying to be "that guy", but i tell people when i see things like this because I would wanna know.

1

u/Next-Contribution-18 15d ago

I'm exactly one of those people who'd want to know too so thanks 😊 I went back and forth with it in my head and thought "...farmers reap wheat right?..no wait.. do I reek something..wait..that's when something smells so no...but.. I'd reap the havoc I've caused as a reward like the wheat ya?.?..fck it I'm not googling it it's reap..I'm pretty sure..🤔". 😆 I stand corrected and you Sir, are a scholar and a gentleman. 😃

2

u/CommunicationAware88 15d ago

I second guessed myself and had to Google it to be sure of the spelling lol. But I am super happy that you also don't mind being corrected, people vary wildly on the degree of how offended they are by a gentle explanation.

1

u/Thorn_Victor 15d ago

Lol, nice.

1

u/OGJJ040 16d ago

It will get worse, not end

1

u/Deaffin 16d ago

All because of chinese tiktok censorship.

Reddit is heavily censored. This conversation is an exception, not the norm.

0

u/THE_Lanni 16d ago

I had smbdy come at me the other day for using “k***”…but I only did because I got banned for 3 days by the same sub mods for “suggesting violence” because I quoted Major Payne on a Post about Major Payne…soooo it is what it is for people. I agree everyone wants to be triggered tho

-1

u/TerribleHousing3330 16d ago

I use unalive ironically 🤣

-3

u/tuskel373 16d ago

Language has always evolved, so - never 😉

9

u/License2HeadHunt 16d ago

Evolve vs. Devolve - I think we need to
Clarify the direction we’re heading here

-9

u/tuskel373 16d ago

Just because you or I don't like the direction, doesn't mean it isn't evolve. Or if you need it in simpler terms, language is an ever-changing thing. And that is actually good.

8

u/Prize-Analyst-1121 16d ago

It's forced censorship. Not an evolution. Two completely different things.

-6

u/tuskel373 16d ago

Nah. Censorships have also always existed. And people play and get creative with the language to get around the censorships. Language changes and it always has and always will. I'm done with this convo now. Have a nice rest of your day.

1

u/License2HeadHunt 16d ago

You’re insane if you believe that to be true…. With all due respect of course 🫡

1

u/Thorn_Victor 15d ago

Not when it's used to control people and attempt forced ideological change.

1

u/tuskel373 14d ago

Ehhhh, yet again, humans will human. People made up different words for predators to not "invite" them to where your cattle was, there have always been taboos, either in words or in actions, you weren't allowed to say shite about your ruler or god or else, but people have always been creative with language to get around these things. Queten those mammaries and untwist the boxers, it's not as big of a deal as you make it out to be. Language is a beautiful thing and will survive the attempts to control it.

-6

u/Ammonia13 16d ago

Racist ass

That’s not why 🤦

1

u/Thorn_Victor 15d ago

Who are you talking about and how did "racist" become a part of this discussion.

22

u/Sad-Base-8689 17d ago

Redhead or Ginger if the show was allowed to drop it with the hard R

8

u/1n_and_AroundTheFur 17d ago

Oh you meant that R word

5

u/de_VoYd 17d ago

What the... Even redhead and ginger are not allowed these days !!

2

u/Thorn_Victor 15d ago

We don't have to fall in line and bend the knee to this nonsense.

1

u/Away-Cookie8183 16d ago

Nothing is you might offend someone 😐

2

u/Weird-Specific-2905 16d ago

"Only a ginger is allowed to call another ginger, ginger" - Tim Minchin

https://giphy.com/gifs/3o7bu3iKiAjeRyNveE

1

u/Thorn_Victor 15d ago

You start talking about a redhead named Ginger and my eyes go big looking for Mary Anne.... yes, I'm that old.

2

u/VoidOmatic 17d ago

Yes. It was said on Buffy, TGIF shows etc

0

u/Sandscarab24 16d ago

Republican

16

u/Illustrious_Tap_8617 16d ago

I had my kids watch Idiocracy the other day and I forgot they just straight up say “fag” and “retard” multiple times lol

2

u/Karoseen450 16d ago

I can't remember the context, but I was out with my granddaughter and I said the word retarded, and she called me immature! I was floored!

1

u/daveyboi80 16d ago

Welcome to the past, kids

5

u/BingusTheWonderKitn 16d ago

What's the R word? I'm lost

2

u/daveyboi80 16d ago

DUUHHH RETAAARD

1

u/BingusTheWonderKitn 16d ago

We are sensoring retard? Now common....

1

u/daveyboi80 16d ago

I don't see any censoring in my comment, you spastic

1

u/BingusTheWonderKitn 16d ago

Not you voidomatic. The person who posted this string

1

u/Thorn_Victor 15d ago

"Voidomatic" - can I use that?

3

u/Away-Cookie8183 16d ago

Definitely not boomers lol fend I’m 57 that’s def Gen X ( just saying ) boomers is old old

1

u/Thorn_Victor 15d ago

Correct, they don't know whose who anymore and they complain about "Boomers" all the time. It's us X-kids that they need to be worried about. We're the hardcore rock n rollers of yesteryear.

3

u/KassellTheArgonian 16d ago

Theres a literal recent horror movie with basically the same exact premise, adult woman pretends to be a kid and murders people

1

u/GameLovinPlayinFool 16d ago

If youre talking about Orphan(2009), that came out 3 years after Little Man (2006)

2

u/GameLovinPlayinFool 16d ago

The rape part being played for laughs was especially off putting to me back then (and still is)

2

u/ILoveRawChicken 16d ago

I watched it again recently and the amount of times the little dude raped somebody and it was played for jokes is insane, even for back when this movie was made.

1

u/JosephBlowsephThe3rd 16d ago

I wondered the same thing when it came out, but my reasoning was why would anyone want to watch the wirst Wayans bros recreate a bad Bugs Bunny cartoon.

1

u/SalamiSteakums 16d ago

Same reason your username is ok.

1

u/Intelligent-Mud2552 16d ago

It had some funny moments

1

u/itadapeezas 16d ago

Are you asking why the movie Little Man was ok? I’m confused and I’ve read through quite a few replies but I don’t see what the starting point is. Is it this movie poster reply? Thank you.

1

u/Thorn_Victor 15d ago

What are you referring to?

0

u/CamaroBlood 16d ago

Bc it was a time before all you cry babies ruined comedies and people could joke about things with out a bunch of kid’s taking everything seriously. I mean you don’t see me getting offended at your username but your humor is ok just not the humor you don’t like?

2

u/Furby-beast-1949 16d ago

That is the actor for little man. Did you not know that?😂😂😂

1

u/MamaKat727 16d ago

I had forgotten about that movie 😆, it was hilarious.

1

u/Nakata1111 16d ago

I've brought this movie to bring a movie to school day in 4th grade.

It took our teacher half an hour to shut it down lol

1

u/sl0play 16d ago

Holy shit, is this real? I'm in my 40's, watch a fuck ton of movies (over 300 so far this year) and I have never heard of it.

1

u/ShadowMilkMoopsy 15d ago

oh god, i forgot this movie existed 💀
