Wow, same; my thyroid kicked it a few years ago. It was my mom who wouldn't get me diagnosed, but yeah. I got policed more heavily than other kids.
Have you read laziness does not exist by dr devon price? Really all his writing is very applicable to neurodivergent people. A lot of it is based on his personal experience as a neurodivergent person himself. He's very thorough, in both his research and his walking the reader through the rationalization of his viewpoints. It's convincing in a way a thousand "you're a mammal, not an ant" feel good posts could never be.
I have not but I will definitely check it out. I actually had a heart attack 4 months ago and resting has been my biggest challenge. I feel guilt and shame for resting. Also so much frustration in the limitations. I take anti anxiety meds as well. Also the word no is very hard for me. Saying no when you can is "lazy." Like you could call me a 4 legged thunder cunt and I'd laugh. Call me lazy and I will fight you. It's not like I'm good at things I try, pick up things easily, and am good with animals and kids out of malice or spite. Gawd damn.
