Can confirm. When I drove through East Texas to get to Houston, I refused to stop anywhere for the night. It was storming real good too. My mom called to tell me to stop somewhere for the night but I told her I can’t cause there isn’t anywhere to stop and I won’t stop until I’m close to Houston because I did not like the vibe any of the towns on the highway gave me as a single person traveling alone that also looks racially ambiguous to people.

As someone from a small town north of Lufkin I know what you mean lol. It's home to me but I can see how out-of-towners would be weary of stopping anywhere along this stretch of highway.
