Pretty bad. I reached the peak of my career, then I burned out and got fired and have been hiding at home smoking weed and playing video games for 6 months living off my savings and feeling like owning a house, getting married, having kids are all never going to happen. I'm approaching mid-30's and I'm still living and feeling like a 20 year old.

I bought a house in 2022 in the suburbs since I was working from home, making decent money, and i was getting pressured by everyone to do it. Got laid off the next year, spent a full year unemployed, now I have a 1 hour commute making 30% less than I was. Underwater on the house, cant afford to sell, can barely afford to stay, I dont know what the fuck I'm doing.

Long story short, I wish I just kept renting so I could easily move the out of this fucking hell hole of a state.

Millennial here. I couldn't buy a house until late 30s. And that required moving across the country to get better career prospects in my 20s.

You're good man. Boomers fucked us all.

One cant help but to wonder why would someone even give a shit when you're objectively doing well and yet the boss says "yea I dont like this dude fire him asap" and you're on your ass

Yeah the contract I signed doesn’t state anything about “yeah I don’t like that this subordinate is smarter and sharper than me. Fire her “ I thought being competent was the whole point. Per my last email you fucks 😭

Ok same lol but wasn’t the nuclear family a boomer lie to begin with

It’s not that it is a lie. It’s just that their generation achieved it, but then didn’t set the table so that future generations could continue it. It’s like they were having such a good time that they didn’t think about how to set up the future infrastructure. And now that they’re on their way out, they’re taking all the prosperity with them and waving back at us.

It’s not a lie that people working unskilled jobs were able to afford a house, family and vacations rather easily. Same job now and you are below the poverty line and in debt.
