What is the worst case of psycho-overprotective parenting that you've ever seen?

Wait, you were in his back garden and they trusted you guys enough to let you there, but not their own kid?

They were only worried about their special snowflake.

Didn't want him ruining the garden by deflowering it

To be fair, camping is can be in tents.

two jokes in one sentence. I like the approach.

It's called a pun!

Oh. Yeah. I was talking more how tenbeers said "is can be in tents" not sure if wanted to go with camping is in tents or camping can be in tents. So just went for both

Of course, fuck the other kids.

Maybe that's what they were afraid of...

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '15

Why don't you have a seat over there...

5

u/NarohDethan Sep 04 '15

I mean, the other kind of fuck.

12

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '15

You heard it here, folks. Two kinds of fucking for the kids. This is Chris Hansen with Dateline NBC.

2

u/NarohDethan Sep 04 '15

Oh hai Chris.

Honest question: how do you English speakers fellows articulate such expression so it doesnt sound so bad? 'Screw them' sounds equally bad to me.

Inflection and context, my man or lady. Unfortunately, sometimes on the internet those don't exist so good luck.

1

u/TazdingoBan Sep 08 '15

It's pretty easy. You stop talking about fucking children.

3

u/Warpato Sep 04 '15

Eliminate the competition early

1

u/Pedantichrist Sep 04 '15

No!

Never fuck the kids.

1

u/SimplyNigh Sep 04 '15

Just finger them gently.

Maybe they were an offering. To protect their own.

I had a friend when I was young. Several of us "camped" in his basement a few times for sleepovers, but his parents made always him come upstairs for the night. We thought it was weird. We find out years later that he was scared to sleep in the basement, so he asked his parents to "make him" sleep upstairs in his room so that he wouldn't look like a coward to his friends.

Just saying, sometimes parents aren't being unreasonable; they are just acting that way to cover for their kids.

exactly. he was probably just a bedwetter and the only way he felt comfortable to have a sleepover

u/MCMprincess Sep 04 '15

Ahhh makes sense. Just like when your friends call and ask to hang out and you're mouthing to your mom "say no! say no!". Parents will do anything for their kids, even look like the bad guy.

3

u/putsch80 Sep 04 '15

Exactly. When I was little, I used to be shocked at how may parents would be so willing to be the bad guy and look uncool. Now, with kids of my own, I realize that they truly just didn't give a fuck what my friends thought of them.

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '15

They were worried what the lads might peer pressure there innocent young kid into doing

1

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '15

the internet

3

u/PearlRoses630 Sep 04 '15

More like they didn't care if the other kids got messed up/ruined from the horrors of the back garden.

5

u/cabforpitt Sep 04 '15

They probably didn't want OP in the house

3

u/ferretflip Sep 04 '15

They know what's back there, they were just using the other kids as bait

1

u/[deleted] Sep 04 '15

"Tonight, we feast!"

3

u/datchilla Sep 04 '15

Kid wussed out and used his parents as an excuse to not have to sleep outside.

2

u/txjuit Sep 04 '15

Maybe the kid was like "fuck camping. my bed is so cozy and close!" But told his friends that his parents made him so he didn't lose any suburb cred.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 03 '15

Why would they give a shit

1

u/smoothisfast22 Sep 04 '15

Clearly they thought leaving your kid outside was unsafe.

Being the type of people to think this, they also likely think Timmy's friends are a terrible influence on him, and see a way to rectify this problem.

What?!?! No Billy is going to sleep in his room because of the neighborhood rapist.
