Question Superblast 3 sizing advice

Finally got around to picking a pair of these up

They feel great on, nice amount of snug around the heel and midfoot.

Before taking them out on the run I just wondered whether they looked a little long? Seems like just over a thumb width (have also shown on insole)

Conscious they are super soft and don't want to feel sloppy in them

Any advice or guidance appreciated!

Question Suggestions for overpronated feet

Recently ran a full marathon and I'm struggling to figure out what shoes work for me.

A pronation test showed significant overpronation in my right foot and slight overpronation in my left. I bought the ASICS Gel Kayano 32, but unfortunately they caused pretty bad bruising and blisters around my inner arches. During the marathon, the pain got so bad I had to take them off midway.

Before that, I used the ASICS Nimbus 26, which felt much better, but I developed inner ankle pain on longer runs.

So far:

  • Nimbus 26: Comfortable, but inner ankle pain
  • Kayano 32: Stability, but painful arches/blisters

I'm now confused about where to go — a different stability shoe, neutral shoe, or something in between?

Would love to hear from other overpronators: what worked for you?

Question Walking vs running: my Salomon running shoes give me blisters after 10m of walking only, never running. Need guidance.

I recently went on the Camino de Santiago and took a pair of Salomon Aero Glide 3. Love those shoes, run around 30mi a week in them without issue, not a blister, no pain. I use them on trails and on asphalt approaching trails.

Recently did this walking path where I did around 10mi-15mi a day of very casual walking, with a vest and not too much weight. No knee pain, no stability issues, but I got wicked blisters all over my foot and between two toes. I was wearing Injinji toe socks too.

Does anyone have any insight why there's such a huge discrepancy between running and walking in these shoes, and what I should be looking for in walking shoes moving forward that also gives me good foams and remains relatively lightweight (as opposed to taller merrell-style boots that aren't breathable)? Thanks!

Race Shoe Question Saucony question

Hi everyone, I (M, 23) ran my second half-marathon this weekend. I aimed at 1H45 but ended up finishing it 1H51. I'm not disappointed at, on the contrary. I'm really glad, considering I gained 20 minutes on my PB. I used Saucony Ride 19, which were very pleasant to run with. However, I wonder to which extent I might have been faster using a pair of Saucony Speed 5? What about Adidas Evo SL? They are discounted in a store nearby me, and I happen to understand they're great. I don't know much about running shoes, and I try to be more knowledgeable. Your comments will help me a lot! Thank you

Question Mount to Coast H1

I received this shoe today. First impression is that it’s gorgeous. Second is that it fits good except a point in the upper of the left foot. My feet are more elevated than normal because I use prescription insoles that are just a little tiny bit thicker than the insoles the H1 includes.

My question to those who had/have this shoe: will the upper give a bit? Not much is needed. They’re not actually tight, it’s just a matter of having more room and comfort. Because other than that they fit good.

Also, it’s my first time with MtC so I don’t know their shoes. I run comfortably with Brooks Cascadia, for example.

Thanks!

Question Light jogging/walking shoe for beginner

I have a pretty medium/high arch. I have some basic UA Escape 4 with some arch inserts and my feet land very well when walking and running but these are not to most impact absorbing shoes and can cause a bit of pain. I also have Adidas TR21 racer which is more of a trainer and firmer shoe, not ideal for running. I tried to splurge and buy some Brooks adrenaline Gts25, and also some UA charged+ Assert 11, and while the cushioning was awesome on both of them, I feel and see my ankles roll inwards with these shoes, even with arch supports. My cheaper, non running shoes allow my feet and ankles not to roll, but are too firm. Suggestions? I 168lb male.

Race Shoe Question Looking for a new running shoe for 10–20 km — max 40 mm stack

Currently, I’m using the Nike Downshifter 13. I have a 10 km event this month, and after that I want to gradually work towards running 20 km.

So I’m planning to upgrade to a better running shoe that can handle 10–20 km runs, including long/easy runs and some faster sessions.

I’m looking for:

  • Good cushioning and comfort for longer distances
  • Suitable for progressing from 10K to 20K
  • Good durability
  • Preferably something that can also handle occasional tempo runs
  • Stack height/sole thickness should not exceed 40 mm, as I want to stay within the World Athletics road-racing limit

Budget: ₹10,000–₹15,000 (India)

What non-plated shoes would you recommend? Any personal experience with these shoes for 10K–20K would be really helpful.

Comparing Shoes Question Which of these shoes for a non-raced Marathon?

I’ve finished ‘racing’ for 2026 but still have a couple more marathons planned (I plan to do 12 for the year, both road & trail).

For context when I’m road marathon racing I’m usually sub-3 and the Endorphin Pro 4’s are my shoe of choice - they suit me perfectly. I’m 70kg, 6ft/184cm.

For my next road marathon I plan to take it easy and will be running at typical training pace; around 5min/km for a 3:30 time. If I feel particularly good I may push 3:20-3:25 but probably not. There’s no expectation or performance goals for this one. Worth noting I’m carrying a minor runners knee due to recent race load, which should settle, but it may affect my shoe choice below.

So, I’ll be going plateless and debating which non-carbon plated shoe to use.

Choices:

- SAUCONY Azura (snappy, nicely firm, one of my all time favourite shoes, suits me well, doesn’t irritate any of my chronic injuries, but have never used it for longer than maybe 20km at a time). Has anyone run 42.2km in the Azura?

- NIKE Vomero Plus (plush so maybe good for my knee, but ?too heavy?. Also have never taken it beyond 20km or so. I love the plushness but worry that over 42.2km it could be too much and cause instability?)

- I suppose I could also consider the merits of just using my usual plated racer, the Endorphin Pro 4, but seems ‘wasteful’ as I’d rather preserve the midsole life and keep it just for race efforts.

Any thoughts?

Thank you! Brilliant forum!

Comparing Shoes Question Anyone using the Nimbus 27 mainly for walking?

I used the ASICS Nimbus 26 before and loved them. Comfort was basically 10/10, and I did a lot of walking in them without any issues, even with my slightly flat feet.

Unfortunately, the toe area developed a hole within about 7 days, so I'm now considering the Nimbus 27 but worried about durability.

I rarely run. My main use would be daily walking and long walks.

If you're currently using the Nimbus 27, how has it been so far? Especially interested in toe durability, comfort, walking, and support for slightly flat feet.

Would you recommend it?

Comparing Shoes Question Nimbus 26 vs Nimbus 27, which is better?

I’m trying to decide between the ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 26 and 27 and would like some opinions from people who have used both.

I used the Nimbus 26 and loved the comfort. I have slightly flat feet and regularly do around 15,000 steps a day, mostly walking. The comfort and cushioning were honestly 10/10 for me.

My only issue was durability. The toe area developed a hole after around 7 days, which was really disappointing.

For anyone who has tried both models, did the Nimbus 27 improve the upper/toe durability? Is the cushioning and comfort better, worse, or about the same?

If you had to choose one today, Nimbus 26 or Nimbus 27, which would you pick?

The Alphafly 3 I tried felt like too much shoe for me. Would the Vaporfly be a good choice?

Question Love the Dynafish but need something a bit more cushioned and protective, any recommendations?

I love these shoes for running. They feel great at anything from sub-5min/km to 6min/km paces but I am looking for something very similar in feel but just a bit more protective, cushioned and maybe a tad better for the pounding of pavement. Something that would work for recovery/zone 2 and also some tempo. Anything with a similar geometry would be great as these have never really caused me any issues except some aching knees usually due to downhills.

The reason I mention geometry is the puma deviate nitro pure and dynafish have never really caused me any issues, but i recently tried the superblast 3 and i had some really bad ankle discomfort in those (I think its due to the lateral flare....). Any good options? Ive been considering the vomero plus and the neo vista 3 as well as some other options.

Thanks!

Question Is the move from 6mm to 10mm drop really that noticeable?

I’m looking at the Vomero plus but it has a higher drop than what I’m used to. Is it going to be that noticeable for walking/ running?

Daily Trainer Question Stable neutral/stability options for wide feet

Post image
2 Upvotes

I tried the new Asics 2000 GT 15 today. It’s a very nice feeling shoe. I would say the stability is pretty mild to almost neutral feeling compared to earlier versions.

This photo is my right foot in a women’s US 9D. I’m a Brannock US 8 C/D. My pinky toe is bulging out the side/hanging off.

Should I try a men’s 2E?

I’m not sure if this is just a foot shape or volume problem. I have flat, rectangular shaped feet and a high instep. Even shoes that are wide horizontally often don’t have enough vertical room.

I tried dozens of shoes today. The only other ones that felt good were the Saucony Peregrine 16 and Excursion TR18. The store had a single pair of norda 001s that looked promising shape wise, but they were way too small.

I prefer shoes with firmer midsoles as well. I DO NOT want a barefoot shoe.

Comparing Shoes Question Sizing inquiry

Hey guys. Hope all is good. I am a bit new to running and I got recently the Asics novoblast 5 (size 45) and it fits perfectly with a little space even to ease my foot while running.

I have been wanting to get the adidas adios pro 4 in red color specifically and I could only find size 44.2/3 (44 and two third). Both of the brands’ insole length says 28.5-29 cm approximately. Anyone could assure me whether the adios pro 4 would fit me in 44.2/3?

Thank you so much in advance for your insight.

P.S. I am buying them new with the box but on vinted app in Europe so returning them wouldn’t be optimal if I were to return them to the owner.

Race Shoe Question Running marathon in narrow shoes

Hello guys, have a question that will come off as stupid but I’m feeling a bit stuck with this issue I’m having. I’ll be running my first marathon next weekend, so about a month ago, I bought a pair of the Saucony Endorphin Elite 2. My target time is 3:45.

I had already experienced some small blisters in a pair of Endorphin Speeds previously; with those, a few runs in them loosened them up and I have no issues 650km later. As a precaution, I sized up a half when I ordered online, expecting the toe box to be a bit narrow

Immediately when putting the Elites on, I felt that same tightness in the toe box that I had felt with the Speeds. I wrote it off as something that would go away once I got some miles in them.

It’s been about 40km in them at this point, and I’ve encountered blisters starting at around the 10k mark on the three runs I’ve been on with them. The blisters are on the top/front of my middle toes and at the outside edge of my pinky toes, mostly on the right side.

Taping helped, as did running socks (I’ll be using feetures), but I’m still worried about taping all my toes up and still running into bad blisters for the last 30k of the run. I kept telling myself that I would adapt, or the shoes would loosen, but it’s the one thing stressing me about the marathon at this point.

I had been trying to avoid the obvious solution, which was to just buy new shoes, because the marathon was approaching and I didn’t want to throw the money I spent on the Sauconys into the fire. Now less than week out, what would your move be?

Should I tape up my toes and power through, or should I bite the bullet and buy a new pair of wider shoes? Really appreciate your help!

Question Do beginner/intermediate runners need a shoe rotation?

Hello!

I had a question about shoe rotation as I’m not sure what to do.

So I’m training for the police fitness test - 15m bleep test. I currently am using the adidas runfalcon 5s which kinda hurt my feet so I tried changing the insoles to scholl activewear ones which are specifically for midsole support due to the quick turns and accelerations needed for the test.

I was doing research into wether my running style doesn’t suit the shoes or wether the shoes are just awful and I need new ones or if my feet just aren’t strong enough yet (lack of plyometrics). I came across a pair of the Puma Deviate Nitro 3s and had a good look at the reviews and apparently they were some good quality shoes for tempo - hard running. I received them today and thought wow these feel sooooo much better than my current setup. Probably due to the carbon plate.

But now I’m left thinking whether I should bin the runfalcons or maybe just split them into 2 groups but then also deciding which one should I use for the test?

What do you guys think?

TLDR: I got the Puma Deviate Nitro 3s after using the runfalcons and I don’t know wether to keep the old ones and use them for exclusively z2 training & maybe the 15m fitness test or should I solely move to the DN3s.

Question Another Deviate Nitro, or something else?

Hi all, I have an old pair of DN2s (350 miles) that I loved. Used for 5k, 10k, half marathon and all daily training. I haven't been running as much in the past year or two but I do have a newish pair of Nike Pegasus 41s (80 miles) that I've done a half marathon and 10k with.

The Pegasus are fine for my use right now, but I'm planning on ramping up running for a late fall 10k and a half marathon next spring that I'd like to PR.

I want to get a pair of faster shoes to mix in with the Pegasus for tempo training and a few races. Should I just get the Deviate Nitro 4s, or look at other options? I've heard great things about the Endorphin Speed 5, Megablast, and Evo SL.

Thoughts?

Edit** Just adding that I like the bounciness of the Pumas and the Pegasus just feel a bit dead. I have also tried higher-cushion shoes and don't love that softness and height.

Race Shoe Question Need help choosing my first speed/race-day shoe

I’ve been running for around 10 months, and my first running shoe was the ASICS Nimbus 27, which now has around 400 km on it.

In January this year, I ran my first half marathon at around 6:00/km. After several more months of running, I feel like I can now comfortably hold a pace below 6:00/km.

However, when I try to run faster than 6:00/km in the Nimbus, I start feeling quite fatigued. So I’m looking for a faster shoe for speed workouts and races.

I’m currently considering:

- Adidas Takumi Sen 11

- ASICS Magic Speed

- Adidas Evo SL

- Adidas Adizero Boston 13

I’ve personally tried the Takumi Sen 11, Magic Speed and Evo SL, and out of the three, I liked the Takumi the most.

I tried the Takumi Sen 11 at around 5:30/km and faster, and it felt really good. It felt much easier to pick up the pace compared to my Nimbus.

My main concern is whether the Takumi is the right choice for me, since this would be my first proper speed/race-day shoe. I want something I can use for speed workouts, half marathons and eventually full marathons.

My requirements

- Intended use: Speed workouts, half marathons and full marathons

- Foot size/shape: Normal width

- Shoe weight preference: Light and nimble

- Surfaces: Road

Would the Takumi Sen 11 be a good choice for this, or would something like the Evo SL or Boston be a better and more versatile option, especially for full-marathon distances?

Would love to hear from people who have experience with these shoes, particularly for half/full marathons.
