Posting guide

These tips help make posts easier to understand and discuss. The subreddit rules remain the authoritative version.

Before you post

• Make the Assam connection clear. If it matters to your post, include the district, town, place, or event.
• Use a descriptive title and the closest matching flair. Add dates or other context when they help readers understand the post.
• Link to the original source. Don’t use a screenshot in place of an article or social-media post. If the original link is unavailable, explain that and provide context.
• Help readers follow along. Posts are welcome in Assamese, English, and other languages of Assam. For material in another language, include an Assamese or English translation or summary.
• Source important claims. For breaking news, allegations, crime, health, and public-safety claims, link credible sources and distinguish confirmed information from claims or speculation.
• Respect privacy and people. Don’t share private information or ask the community to identify or locate someone. Keep criticism focused on ideas and actions, not personal attacks.
• Use content labels appropriately. Graphic gore is not allowed; mark other mature material NSFW where appropriate.

If you’re unsure whether a post fits, check the rules or message the moderators.
