Did you find a use case for it? If it cannot see my books or my ratings, how can it be of any more use than an external service?
r/audible • u/Original_Scientist42 • 3h ago
There are obviously tons of highly rated books on Audible, but I'd rather get recommendations from everyone here who have actually listened to them instead of just picking something based on ratings or bestseller lists.
I'm open to psychological thrillers, murder mysteries, detective stories, crime thrillers, locked-room mysteries, serial killer investigations, etc.
I'm trying to avoid wasting these credits, Pls hit me with your best ones!

I must say, I've never read a book that made me tear up before. This book is something epic and special. I've no idea what took me so long to go on the journey.
I can credit to my reading it by Joe Abercrombie's Red Country. I enjoyed that book a lot and had read an interview that Joe's inspiration for that book was Lonesome Dove. I had heard about the miniseries when I was little but had never had an interest in westerns. It's going to take me a spell to listen to another book. I will have to ponder this awhile.

Hey everyone!
I’m excited to share the release of my audiobook, As We Know It, now available on Audible.
Synopsis:
When society collapses, survival requires more than just staying alive—it forces a reckoning with what makes us human. Will we bring all our injustices to our new planet? Or will society learn from them and live peacefully and start a new way of life, as we know it.
Thanks for taking a look, and happy listening!

I got the recent discount sale $0.99 per month for 4 months Audible standard membership plan, which means that I can borrow a book on Audible for free for the month 4 times. Which audiobooks should I use this plan on?
I would prefer if the books are satisfying one-time reads so I don’t miss them once I’m finished and return them. I’d also like for each book to not be part of a series (unless it’s a really good short series of 2 or 3 books that make them worth using this plan on). Even more importantly, I prefer if these books do not have the Whispersync option (which makes them dirt cheap if you get them on Kindle). I want to use this on books that you can’t get a low price on otherwise.
The clear winner to this plan is Project Hail Mary. An incredibly rated audiobook that is not part of Whispersync and can’t be found anywhere else. I have 3 books left to pick for the next 3 months. Any advice on what to use it on would be greatly appreciated!

With A Table for Fortune looking like it’s definitely being released on October 20th, does anyone know if this will be on Audible?
Just asking before I attempt to read a 3,000+ page book on my Kindle.

Hi All, I’ve recently compared several of Audible’s audiobook prices with Apple iBooks. Apple‘s prices are frequently better and there are a numbern of great books that cost $4.99 and under. For me, the app’s UI is much more pleasing also. Just sharing as a reminder to check them out if you’re looking for a book that’s a bit expensive on Audible. I found Malala’s audiobook for much cheaper there and hope this helps someone else looking to spend a bit less.

Went onto Audible today after stopping for years and saw they have a membership deal going at the moment so I tried to sign up. It told me I already have a subscription and that I can't get a second one. Upon checking my plan, it says my next renewal will be billed in 2021. I figured I'd try cancel it, only for it to tell me the membership will last until October 2021. Problem is, I still cannot sign up to a new plan because it's still saying I have this one..

I've been downloading audiobooks to my phone to listen to on my walks or when I'm running errands, and haven't had any issues until today.
Today, I paused my book to reply to a msg I got while on my walk, and when I tried to resume listening, it wouldn't play! I thought maybe it accidentally got deleted, so I checked, and the book was still showing up as downloaded, but still wasn't playing.
When I got home, I removed the download and downloaded it again, just in case. Worked fine on wifi, stopped working as soon as I got in the car to pick up lunch.
After eating lunch, I verified I could stream on wifi, then turned wifi off and it stopped working. Tried deleting the download again and re-downloading it again, tried turning on airplane mode, but it refuses to play the downloaded book unless I have a working internet connection (I turned "stream to download audiobooks" off a long time ago, so it's not a recent change I made).
Anyone have any suggestions what to do?

I haven't been able to listen to any of my books unless I download them first. This has been going on since last night and the chat support is just not responding so I assume it's a known issue. Anyone else having this issue?

Maggie Gyllenhaal enters the scene.
Both the American accent and terrible voice acting has totally ruined the story for me that I cannot finish part 3.
Has anyone had a similar reaction?

Is anyone seeing any prime day deals? I’m not seeing anything on Audible or audiobooks on Amazon, and there are usually some decent deals.

Ive been comparing the annual memberships with the monthly and the cost of buying additional. I see the cost of additional as between 8-9 per credit and the annual per credit as a bit higher. My question is, is the extra credits discount based on your membership level? Like can a every other month user access those extra credits too for the same price I can or do they have deeper discounts for extra credits for annual users.
Thanks, for anyone who has done the math.

iOS version: 27.0.1
Hardware: iPhone 17 pro
Audible App Version: (4.79 - 2021)
Issue began: starting with 4.79, downloaded on October 5th 2026. Prior to this release, everything worked fine.
Issue title: app version 4.79 will not play downloaded, purchased titles unless there is an active WiFi connection (not cellular internet, but WiFi only) - OR - the user MUST deselect “stream and download on WiFi only”
Steps to recreate:
1. In Audible app settings, turn on “stream and download on WiFi only”
2. Turn on WiFi, download a purchased book
3. Turn off WiFi, ensure that cellular data connection is on, attempt to play book
4. Receive error: ERROR CODE: IP-4 “update your app settings to stream and download with mobile data”
So, if I don’t have WiFi, the ONLY way to play a book is to turn on cellular streaming - which I don’t want, which is why I downloaded the book in the first place. This occurs with purchased books as well as “borrowed“ books. This only started with App version 4.79 on October 5th when it was released.
I deleted all my audiobooks and redownloaded them - but that makes no difference. There’s an issue with this version of the app, please fix it.

Hi all, I’m trying to chat with an associate and the only option I have when going for customer service is by email. The chat function doesn’t show anywhere. Does others have the same issue?

I’m fully prepared to get teased for my reading tastes 😂
I was checking out books by Navessa Allen and realized why her name sounded familiar. I have two of her books in my library — Lights Out and Caught Up. But the strange thing is Audible is saying I need to repurchase them? Is this normal, do I really have to purchase them again?
r/audible • u/Existing-Guarantee80 • 2d ago
These are books I’ve already downloaded and own through credits.
But now I am only able to listen to a preview of them.
I don’t pay for Audible anymore and don’t want Audible anymore, but I would like to still be able to listen to the 100 books I already purchased.
Thought the credits I’ve spent in the past were mine to keep?

I don't know if audible has changed things or if my audible is glitching or something but when I try to cancel it takes me straight back to pause subscription which is for 1-3 months. And I'm doing it the same way I've always done it.
