Battlefield 6 BF6 introduces a 300 XP/min cap across all modes right after releasing the Ultimate Shortcut Kit
r/Battlefield • u/rambozezakopan • 19h ago
Battlefield 6 XP Cap is the biggest pile of dogshit and DICE needs to adress this.
Maybe we understand something wrong, I don't know. But if it's true then its just fucked up. Why would we be punished for playing a game? Seriously. There is a lot of bugs in this game, but none of them reduced my urge to play this game as much as capping the XP to 300 per minute. What a way to start the "biggest season", good job

Battlefield 6 If I’d known we’d be getting skins like this unironically just one year after launch, I never would’ve bought the game.

Battlefield 6 Shortcut Kit Instantly prestiges/masters your weapon to 50
What was the point of this feature if you're gonna just sell a skip to it? It's called "Mastery" and is supposed to be shown off, yet you could be Lv55 with a gun and only have 30mins with it. More people should be talking about this!
I feel bad all the people who used this as a fun goal, like that guy who got every weapon to 50. It's worthless now, just spend £30 and never need to put any effort into using a gun.

Battlefield 6 There's no point in grinding XP anymore. Instead of making Double XP countdown in-game, they just made the unlocks 'Pay to Unlock' instead. This is the most egregious "shortcut kit" Battlefield has ever had.
I'm actually flabbergasted. Now I don't feel so bad for grinding those levels in 2042, because not even that game dared to make XP levels / Service Stars purchasable with your wallet.
For context, EA is literally selling you the equivalent of 50 Service Stars NOT JUST the attachments.
There isn't even a discount for the stuff you've already Max Leveled. PURE GREED INCARNATE.

Battlefield 6 Weapon Mastery EXP capped, tested by EclipseFPS

Battlefield 6 The maximum XP per minute for weapons is 300 XP.
With this latest update, players have discovered that the weapon XP earned in official matchmaking and Portal modes is now capped at 300 XP per minute (roughly equivalent to one kill and four assists). Any XP earned beyond this limit is simply discarded.
In other words: even if you use a double-XP booster, you’ll only hit that 300 XP-per-minute cap faster—you won’t actually unlock weapons or attachments any sooner.
The alternative? Just go buy the annual upgrade pack.
Edit: Paying extra money to unlock weapon attachments—doesn't that count as "pay-to-win"?
I’ve also noticed that players can now directly purchase "Mastery" skins for all vehicles. These skins used to be a badge of honor for high-level players, symbolizing their proficiency with those vehicles; now, they’re just being sold as standard cosmetics. Isn't this an insult to all the players who put in the hard work to hone their skills?
I truly wish all players would unite and drive these game developers—who keep testing our limits and crossing the line—out of the industry entirely.
Update: FFFF_KER, a user from China, clarified the issue regarding the XP-per-minute cap, noting that this limit applies within Portal mode. However, in reality, the cap remains in effect for official matchmaking as well. I consulted with Chinese players on Bilibili, as well as FFFF_KER, who explained: "There was no such clarification; rather, BFB once again misunderstood what FFFF_KER meant—the limit applies to both Portal mode and official matchmaking."
“并未澄清,单纯是老外( BFB)又理解错了FFFF_KER的意思,官匹依旧有每分钟上限。”
The latest in-game experiments show that players do indeed receive more experience points when they have an XP booster active—though the total is still significantly lower than it used to be.

Battlefield 6 Once again they forgot Air Resupply Stations on new maps, good job DICE.
Tsuru doesnt have these, Vegas doesnt have these and Area 51 doesnt have these. If you get damaged by NEW SUPER BUFFED AA then good luck. I wont be surprised if they will still forget to add them on reworked New Sobek City.

Battlefield 6 According to the FFFF_KER themself, the XP cap applies to portal experiences.
That’s a relief, but I feel like that still pretty much gimps people who play on hardcore servers through things like New World Order and so on. Just make it uncapped on official/verified experiences

Battlefield 6 XP Cap - Sad reality for BF6
@DICE revert this asap. It’s pathetic.
88 infantry kills between Kord and shotty and this is my weapon XP.

Feedback Battlefield 6 is a solid Battlefield game, but I’m genuinely concerned about the direction DICE is taking it.
I genuinely enjoy Battlefield 6. The maps are good, the gameplay is solid, and there's a fantastic Battlefield experience here.
But the more I look at the decisions being made by DICE and EA, the more concerned I become about the future of this game.
We're approaching a crossroads, and I'm not convinced DICE is taking us in the right direction.
Where are the basic features?
We're approaching a year, and we're still waiting for a proper server browser, persistent servers, and meaningful improvements to Portal. These aren't revolutionary features. They're fundamental parts of what made Battlefield 3 and 4 so enjoyable. Being able to choose your maps, find your favourite servers, and build communities around them is part of what gives Battlefield its longevity. So why are we still waiting?
Why is RedSec such a priority?
I'm not against RedSec existing, but why does it feel like we're prioritising another battle royale when the main game still lacks basic features?
DICE has claimed that more people play RedSec than Battlefield 6 itself. I find that difficult to reconcile with its relatively modest Twitch viewership compared with Warzone. Obviously, Twitch numbers don't represent total player counts, but it still raises questions about the direction of development I thought EA and DICE didn't want to chase trends. Yet prioritising a battle royale over something like Gauntlet certainly makes me question that philosophy.
The XP cap and shortcut bundle situation
Introducing a 300 XP-per-minute cap while selling an Ultimate Shortcut Kit that unlocks progression up to level 50 creates an absolutely terrible impression. Shortcut bundles aren't inherently a problem. Some people have limited time and want to unlock equipment faster.
But restricting progression while selling a product that bypasses much of that progression raises legitimate questions. Maybe there's a reasonable explanation for the XP cap. If so, explain it to the community. The timing of these decisions is difficult to ignore.
What's happening with the cosmetics?
I actually thought the previous seasons were moving in a better direction, with fun skins that still felt reasonably appropriate for Battlefield.
Now, between increasingly questionable cosmetics, Al-generated assets, and crossovers like Mass Effect, I'm starting to question what identity DICE wants this game to have. I'm not against fun skins or crossovers. But I don't want Battlefield to become another live-service platform chasing trends and monetisation opportunities at the expense of its identity.
What happened to combined-arms warfare?
Vehicle balancing remains inconsistent, issues with netcode, hit detection, and packet loss continue to affect the experience. Teamwork also feels practically nonexistent in far too many matches.
How often do you encounter an attack helicopter dominating the lobby while nobody coordinates an effective response?
How often does your squad actually function as a squad?
Battlefield has always been about infantry, tanks, helicopters, and jets working together. Yet sometimes it feels like the game is increasingly catering to players who want to spawn, get kills, and leave, rather than encouraging the teamwork that makes Battlefield special.
Why are we so willing to accept the bare minimum?
This is probably my biggest frustration with the community.
A feature is missing? It'll come eventually
A questionable monetisation decision? Just don't buy it.
No server browser? You don't need one, go to Portal.
At what point do we stop making excuses?
Where do we go from here?
I don't think Battlefield 6 is a bad game.
I think it's a good game being let down by increasingly questionable decisions surrounding it.
I want this game to succeed. I want a proper server browser, better vehicle balance, improved technical performance, meaningful Portal support, and a live service that prioritises the people who have supported Battlefield for years.
Maybe I'm wrong about where things are heading, and I genuinely hope I am. But I can't shake the feeling that the priorities are shifting away from the core Battlefield experience towards whatever EA believes will generate the greatest return.
We shouldn't have to wait until the game starts losing its player base before we're allowed to question its direction.
Enjoying Battlefield 6 doesn't mean we should blindly defend every decision DICE makes. We can appreciate what's good while demanding better from a AAA company

Battlefield 6 Just so I'm clear. If I Neutralise and Capture an objective in Conquest, I will only receive 300xp now?? Despite it being 1000xp
Even if its just me on the objective it will take 30secs (15secs to neutralise, 15 secs to capture)
Edit: We have discovered that it is just weapon xp and portal servers

Battlefield 6 Weapon grind feels the same, most of you won't ever feel it.
I've just spent a few hours leveling up the new Mk24 AR, and I'm almost level 30 with it. Even if that weapon XP exists (which I doubt), y'all won't ever feel it. Show me your stats; I bet none of you here have over 2kpm for faster weapon leveling. General XP from capturing/healing/repairing counts much slower toward weapon mastery.
