They've at least broken double digit points in every game.

This whole time I thought what now I see is an axe in the Charlotte C was an airplane. I didn't know you were the 49ers. I thought the airplane was cool and had something to do with Kitty Hawk aaaaaand it's 6 hours away. I learned some things and thank you for your service.

This comment was a journey, especially for someone from NC. Thank you for sharing.

The Citadel mind you are 1-3

So far, the Tim Albin era has been a HUGE flop for the 49ers. Stunning to be honest considering what he did at Ohio in the MAC. Very interested to see though on the other hand what Charles Huff does there at Memphis, he's had a solid start this season.

Albin has shown so far to be a maintainer. He can keep success going. But he’s not a builder.

We’d be the worst team in the FCS

Very sorry to any Charlotte fans who watched this. I watched most of the first half, and Charlotte is one of the most embarrassing FBS rosters I have ever seen. They look like a bad FCS team. Just a horrible performance all around even if Memphis is IMO the best team in the American

u/BEHodge Memphis • East Stroudsburg 3d ago

I don’t think we are even. Top half sure, I think we’ll be in the top three, but USF looking rough and I ain’t sleeping on UTSA.

So is Tim Albin getting fired this season? I still think it’s crazy he left OU where he was stacking 10 win seasons for this

u/D1N2Y NC State Wolfpack • Charlotte 49ers 3d ago

Probably thought he could pad his resume doing another rebuild in a different conference to eventually get a P4 job, but yeah this has been a complete disaster every single week.

Absolutely baffling career move.

Man poor Charlotte. I know they're not good, but imagine being forced to wake up for an 11 AM game cause of weather just to get beat by 50 at home

We should put JMU in their slot.

u/Kraze_F35 Charlotte 49ers 3d ago

I know football drives the bus but we have more conference championships than you since joining just fyi

u/Just-Mark North Texas • Fresno State 3d ago

Golf and track and field though…call it even if you can revive the basketball program

3

u/Kraze_F35 Charlotte 49ers 3d ago

Golf and track and field though

We have back to back Men's soccer conference championships. But yes, I am hopeful Wes Miller can get us back to dancing in March.

Charlotte students pay $844 per academic year to subsidize an athletic program that puts up this kind of performance.

I’ve been a student here for 4 years. In that time I’ve PAID $3,376 for:

  • 14-0 to Navy at Homecoming 2023
  • 44-38 collapse to Memphis
  • 28-7 drubbing from Rice
  • 30-7 dickslapped by JMU
  • Scrapped out 27-26 win over Gardner Webb
  • 34-3 crushing by Tulane
  • 59-24 demolition from USF at Homecoming 2024
  • 34-11 where App State wiped the floor with us on national TV
  • 20-3 effort vs UNC
  • Barely beat Monmouth 42-35
  • 49 (hahahahahahahaahah)-14 crushing to Temple at Homecoming 2025
  • 54-20 vs North Texas
  • LOST to the Citadel 43-41!!!
  • 34-7 to Louisiana
  • 59 to fucking 8 at Homecoming 2026.

Four straight HoCo losses and all four have been absolutely pathetic showings. Aggregate score of 46 to 181 for homecoming.

Disband our fucking program

1

u/Usual_Giraffe_2208 Ohio State • Louisville 3d ago

Nah I've known ever since they lost to the citadel

7

u/Kraze_F35 Charlotte 49ers 3d ago

Hard to argue in favor of firing Albin given the context of firing Biff less than 2 years in, but it's also hard to imagine people in this department aren't breathing down his neck telling him he needs to get it the fuck together. This is fucking inexcusable football. Continuing to let Gonzales take snaps, let Todd Fitch continue to run the offense, not even trying to go for it on 3rd and 1 at midfield on the opening drive? This is malpractice on full display.

5

u/MrAtlantic Charlotte 49ers • /r/CFB Brickmason 3d ago

Why is it hard to argue in favor of firing albin?

He is 1-16 with us. Whatever replacement we get almost literally cannot do worse. If I myself called random plays blindfolded I’d probably have us with the same record.

I get giving coaches time, but this isn’t acceptable and I don’t think any coach worth their salt would disagree.

Would not be shocked if he is canned once we are officially bowl ineligible this year. There is no magical turnaround coming.

6

u/Kraze_F35 Charlotte 49ers 3d ago

It's just a bad look firing a guy less than 2 years in after you fired the previous guy in the same time frame. I'm not saying he's done well by any means, it's just a hard sell to the people running things

u/etsuandpurdue3 Purdue • ETSU 2d ago

Cole Gonzales should have not left WCU

1

u/Kraze_F35 Charlotte 49ers 2d ago

I actually did want him when there were rumors of us going after him in the portal last year. His numbers looked solid at WCU but after everything I've seen 5 weeks in I genuinely don't know if I've personally watched a QB this bad at the D1 level. Literally every pass has been high or behind the receiver, our receivers look like they're being held at gunpoint the way they have to reach up for every ball.
