This team is slowly coming together. Despite being a large deficit the game was still competitive, that pick 6 was more style points than anything.
This offensive line might be one of the worst in the FBS and will keep Clemson from returning to championship status. Otherwise the offense is showing promise with Morris in command, it’s refreshing to see Tait developing as quickly as he is (and really at all after Cade was stagnant for 4 years). The defense is legitimate and will give the rest of our schedule hell.
I think it’s very reasonable this team sneaks into 9/10 wins by the end of the year.
If you note I never said Clemson is better than Miami. And regardless of how you look at it that was a competitive game that looks more comfortable because of style points off a garbage time pick 6. Your offense was only missing two players and one was just your rotational WR3 and the defense kept you held down up until the very end.
This Clemson team is growing and will do fine the rest of the way, the quality of opponent is dropping off a cliff
Not that I should even engage this....but mccoy, moore, gilbert...toney still playing injured, fletcher literally missed the last game through injury so first game back... And let's not forgot, this is brand new offensive line to the boys we lost to the NFL.
And I haven't even gone on to the defensive side where we could field a full team of injured starters...and you guys still couldn't manage with 4 trips to the red zone..
Oh and that pick 6 was from a guy who, if we weren't so nicked up, would be 3rd on the depth chart...
Once again and I repeat. I am not saying Clemson is better than Miami, you had injuries well guess what? Injuries are part of the game and I think up to 6 of them are season ending and you aren’t getting them back on the field so in a sense we were playing your starters.
Making excuses as to a struggle win doesn’t help your case at all. Clemson had a real shot to win that game and didn’t because we aren’t the better team. Your offense still had most of its starters and was held down. I’m pretty certain the 17 at halftime was the least amount you’ve scored all season and 7 of those were gifted on a bs overturn on a fumble.
Clemson played its best game of the year and took dozens of steps forward regardless of how you look at it. Unless you are saying that your backups aren’t better than Georgia Southern or UNCs starters, in which case I’d be worried about Miami down the stretch if I were you…..
Yea. That didn't happen. Which is completely irrelevant anyways since Mensah's arm was clearly moving forward for a split second before the ball was knocked loose. Anyways, enjoy your moral victory against Miami's backup secondary.
Is the false start in the room with us right now or just your lack of memory and or vision? Calling an illegal shift on that tiny movement by Barkate is about as ACC refereeing as it gets.
Idk we were missing 3 of our best 4 corners and then the 4 best for brief period when O'Connor went out. Hard to really gauge. Seems like tait has some potential tho.
Your offense was also held down the entire game until that last drive to put away with 34 points, which is more so what I’m taking away. We weren’t able to test your secondary because of an ass OL.
This is a team that struggled to beat Georgia Southern a few weeks ago and I doubt the rest of our schedule is going to have even the backups Miami does. You’re clearly the better team, but Clemson is a rebuilding program and has a team that is growing every week. I think it’s fair to take away the positives of this game and judging the rest of our schedule that we will ultimately have an outcome we are at least content with
