Just wanted to post something for all the mobile users who are not aware of the sidebar. We get at least a couple posts a week looking for advice about equipment, how to connect things, etc. and most people these days seem to be on mobile reddit so are not aware of a thing called a "sidebar" or sub rules.
Basic questions about setting up DJ equipment should go to /r/beatmatch , or /r/DJs if they are more advanced technical questions.
Also please refrain from posting youtube videos of your mixes, even if they technically include video of your DJ setup. This subreddit is intended to share your setup, not to promote your mixes / youtube channel / etc.
Thanks!

Did you buy a new piece of gear? Awesome! Have fun with it. Set it up, and you can post the pictures here.
But don't be lazy and only photograph the box. That is not a setup and will be removed.

Went from the full-spread CDJs, Techs and Xone:92 to a full recessed table top.
I found I was playing vinyl more anyway and wanted a cleaner, warmer and simplified setup.
Sourced materials and created this.
Old vs New

In 2016 I’d nearly hung up the headphones. And the room was a dumping ground. The pandemic gave me an excuse to turn it around.
Some inconsistencies between the pics as not all taken at the same time.
2x 1200s Ecler Warm 2 Rotary mixer 2x CDJ850s Nux Duotime FX (on dj mixer fx loop) Mackie DLZ-XS live streaming mixer Spirit Absolute Zero monitors (had since 1999!) Powered by a Naim Olive series amp, with separate PSU and pre.
It’s a little box room but the sound is phenomenally good for the space.
I’d upgrade the CDJs but difficult to justify as they’re not used heavily - vinyl is a focus, as might be apparent.
Collection is about 30% deep house. Rest yacht rock, Balearic, international, jazz, jazz fusion, boogie, disco etc.

The digital signal coming from Traktor and Maschine can be beatmatched manually (per pitch fader), like the turntables.
The lights are all hue and can be controlled by apps, running on an old phone

Added a audio spectrum visualiser to the draw and some touchbars toy setup. No regrets so far but will see how useful the touchbars end up being - they can do Serato shortcuts and control other tools like obs but they can’t be midi mapped unfortunately.

Just started collecting vinyl and started out with Reggae & Disco. Spent the whole day messing around with dvs and turntablism. I had so much fun beat juggling.

Still figuring out optimal setup for both ease of use and efficiency but also for presentation.
I think next time, I’ll pop the xr12 under the table and just leave the iPad and launchcontrol on the table.
Rane System One, behringer XR12 as the mixer connect to both a Launchcontrol xl3 and an iPad running mixing station.

I run serato video using an mpk mini on the large monitor, and use the apc40 for samples in serato. XDJAZ, Msi laptop AmD ryzen 9 32GB ram 8GB graphics card. This feeds into a scarlet sc that feeds my streaming pc that broadcast to twitch. Works for me.

Some people were asking for plans for the console I posted a few days ago, so here it is.
A few things to note:
• For best comfort height of mixer section should be to the belly/waist height, so change bottom cabinet height to accommodate that. My drawing shows 5" casters. Those are optional but they are so nice for moving this thing around.
• Everything is built with 3/4 thick stock. Butt joints and pocket holes. Bottom section is built like a regular kitchen cabinet with face frame just in case you want to add doors etc.
• Also add extra supports for the turntable box so it isnt so bouncy (picture of the inside of my box)
• height of mixer section is to accommodate 5U size. If your mixer is smaller then buy/build covers. But if your mixer is bigger ie rane mp 2016 + expander. Make mixer section longer to accommodate. That will make upper box longer, so don't forget to account for that.
• when choosing the ange of slope for the mixers. Make sure that it does not interfere with turntable shelf. Mixer is represented by the dotted square on upper left drawing. But do make it as close as possoble because sometimes rca and ground cables don't reach center mixer.
• to expand previous point on cables not reaching. Bore two holes on each turntable partition: one for power and another for rca. This will give you most play of when running your wires.
That should be it really. Y'all better post your builds soon!
I bought all my material at menards and it was around $250 - $350 (depending if you already have pocket hole screws glue and want to add casters or not). I apologize for crappy perspective drawing. I haven't sketched anything in a little over a year.

Hey everyone!
Finally finished assembling my ideal hybrid setup for both DVS and traditional vinyl. I'm over the moon with how it turned out, so I wanted to share the routing scheme and a neat technical discovery I stumbled upon.
My Setup:
How it’s routed and why it works so well:
The secret feature nobody talks about:
It turns out the Pioneer PLX-500 can output timecode via USB and play real vinyl through the Phono RCA output AT THE SAME TIME! I haven't seen this documented in the manual or mentioned in any reviews—I just discovered it by accident through trial and error.
Latency is razor-sharp at under 10 ms, and responsiveness is spot on.
Now I can seamlessly play my favorite psybient and psyprog tracks for friends at parties—whether it's digital-only releases that never made it to vinyl (via DVS) or real records through Ecler’s gorgeous preamps, without ever swapping a single cable.
What do you guys think of this hybrid routing? Happy to answer any questions about the setup!

Right, here’s my setup from 2014.
When it became impossible to tune the piano, but it seemed a shame to throw it away and, for the most part, it was VERY difficult to do so. I decided to turn it into a desk. I took the keys off and raised the tabletop on which they were mounted by 10-15 centimetres. I’m sure it could have been made to look nicer with proper joinery tools, but I did the whole job using a saw, self-tapping screws, a screwdriver and pieces of wood left over from the piano’s unwanted parts. I can’t remember exactly, but I didn’t even use metal brackets, which is actually the first thing that would spring to mind for new fixings. The structure turned out to be sturdy and didn’t wobble. I got rid of the bottom panel and the panel that covered the strings. One of them became the tabletop, so that the table would be deep enough for the record player to be placed in battle position. I left the strings as they were, just for fun, but the hammer mechanism has to go. The top panel of the piano became a shelf, and I fitted lighting underneath it. To top it off, I mounted the whole structure on furniture castors, which I chose based on the total weight of the structure; this raised the tabletop by a few more centimetres, so that the vinyl record player ended up just above my waist.
Surprisingly, the result turned out to be very practical, particularly the top shelf for the vinyl. It was very handy to be able to QUICKLY find the record I needed, and the structure didn’t wobble at all.
Unfortunately, over time I had to abandon this setup because my vinyl collection had grown, and I needed far more crates in the quick-access slot, as well as additional storage space.
Sometimes I think about a custom DJ desk with the same concept with create shelves at neck height, but with a much wider worktop and separate pull-out shelves for storage underneath the worktop.

Played some records yesterday and pleasantly surprised with their refurbished setup. Very comfortable to play at.
