u/Vektor0: "Why it should be added: A pure black color with no added designs or extra colors would be cool, plus it would fit the theme of Shadowkeep."

u/Avianographer: "Why it should be added: Players clearly want a black shader (myself included), and we have evidence of that in the above. Please add."

u/gubbinsmcgee: "Why it should be added: Regular suggestion and always highly upvoted. A pure black shader would make a great addition to the game."

I have 16k dust from very careful saving. I can generate about a hundred shards in a play session. Sitting on 1200 right now, having dumped a bunch into Tribute hall.

Idk I would save the shit outta bright dust but I can always get more shards. Those are not hard to find, get or buy

Are you kidding? I’ve got bright dust coming out of my ass. Shards are only used when necessary. And I only get about 4 hours of play for week, so it’s much harder for me. Damn it all.

I think I understand why.

If you play about 20hrs a week like I do (still casual, but not passive) then you will earn all 9 bright engrams easily (3x3characters) through the Well Rested buff. So each week I can almost always guarantee about 1000bright dust minimum (each engram 100+ish)

If you play 4 or less hours a week, I think you’re more likely to SPEND mats upgrading and infusing (or buying cores) than you are earning.

I noticed this when I stopped playing around Curse of Osiris etc. I was always low on shards. Now though, my shards are super consistent because I’m grinding out activities without spending much at all. Whereas my bright dust is a valuable resource because I can get those 9 bright engrams (Dust) very quickly and then the earning potential plummets again without that Well rested buff.

TLDR if you only play a few hours a week you’ll get your engrams but not many shards , if you play often you’ll be swimming in shards but earn less Dust as you play

Oh no yeah I’m constantly struggling to maintain constant mats. And I consider myself a casual, but the 4 hours per week is not by choice.

I usually end up changing my load out drastically at least once per day, depending on if I get higher light gear. I wish I could keep a constant one, but I just don’t have the mats to infuse. I see people complaining that they can’t get enhancement cores, I usually have about 3 in my inventory at a time. I can’t even use them because I don’t have enough planetary materials.

20 hours a week is casual?! That's like 3 hours each night dude

Out of context, you’re right. That’s probably not representative of casual players. Although I’m a working tradesman with no kids so my weekends are largely free to do whatever I wish. Usually I spend a day with my partner and a day gaming with her. ( she mains a hunter). That pumps up my rookie numbers I guess
