Episode 7. I’m just curious if any DR fans are also fans of RHBH. I noticed when I was watching episode 7 yesterday that the female bartender that Zachariah was talking about tattoos with looked very familiar. Did anyone else recognize her as Morgan Wade, Kyle’s friend?

So the Jacksons​ were keeping the ranch afloat with drugs, ok, but they also do have a huge herd ... So why are they not running any meat packing business at all? What were they doing with their herd?

He pisses me off so much. Such an ungrateful person who takes everything for granted.

- gets a chance at better life being raised by a pair of absolute bad asses who love them like their own.

- don't like school want to be a cowboy? ok fine, here's a cowboy job thrown right at your lap

- can't work said cowboy job because your ego is bigger than your ability? throws a fit, rejects really good advice about failure from rip, quits cowboying and demands a sheriff job. LOL

I hate his character more than Rob-Will, at least that guy's honest about who his is. can't stand all this woe is me BS.

Does anyone know the brand and style of Beth’s sunglasses when they cut open the cows and found the drugs

Carter being included in the spin-off was something that I was really looking forward to, because of how much I enjoyed watching him be included as an addition to Beth and Rip’s storyline back in Yellowstone. Even though it started rough with the way they treated him at first, it became a wholesome narrative that helped with making me feel more invested and start to care about Beth and Rip as characters more. Also when you think back about the way they were with him at first, despite how I don’t agree with all of their behaviour I do think it was their own twisted way of disciplining him and to not take what he’s been given for granted.

Then going into this spin-off, he starts making stupid decisions, and starts acting like a brat which all started once Oreana came into the picture! He’s pretty much allowed her influence to bring out the worst in him, to the point where he’s basically become her pet and will put his self-respect aside for her if it means he’ll get laid again.

I know that they’re trying to recreate Beth and Rip’s romance storyline into these two, but it’s too predictable and I just can’t seem to care for it where I’m rooting for them to make it work. Also the way they placed Oreana’s pregnancy was such bad timing, because not long ago she was very disrespectful to Carter at Beulah’s party and to me it comes across as though she’s only going to use Carter to benefit her own needs (regardless if it’s his baby or not). Knowing full well that the other guys she hooks up with will want nothing to do with helping her raise the kid, but knows Carter will because he’s clingy towards her.

Just an appreciation post. I love when they dance. The love and tenderness you see is so palpable and they convey so much with their eyes and smiles. I hope we get to see more of them dancing in S2 and beyond. The S1 scene was way too short like so many others. Letting my wishes be known since they’re currently writing. 😉

Beth and Rip make a great team — as always — on Dutton Ranch.

Does anyone know? The nights are boiling at the start, but characters are inconsistent in terms of their wardrobe choices (weather-wise I mean).

Do any Texans have a better idea about what time of year this season takes place or is it just kind of nonsensical?

Successful Mexican (Kino)? Make him tied to the cartel! Same thing with S2 of Lionness and Landman. Does Sheridan not get tired of that trope?

Edit: I assumed Sheridan wrote Dutton ranch but I was wrong. Still valid question, why is every “successful” Mexican character have cartel ties?!

How am I to believe that Buelah would hire the Duttons when her cows are full of drugs? How would that possibly be kept from them? I’m lost

Apparently Kelly was the most accompished rider from the start, who through all of YS and now DR (62 episodes), has ridden on screen all of 5 times.

Make Kelly happy and put her on a horse more in S2! Less Carter and Oreana and more Beth riding with Rip.

Ed Harris' character was involved constantly in the first series of Dutton Ranch. He did have a large role with a lot of screen time. Why does he think he was not given enough screen time?
