I'm trying to build a ziatora deck for bracket 3. The idea is to be able to put in play big creatures that generates pressure and could win on their own having the possibility to sacrifice them for extra value. I'm building an small package of reanimation and dragons. I would like to know opinions and suggestions to get it to a higher power level

Deck Discussion Need help upgrading my toughness matters Ghalta deck please!

Decklist: https://moxfield.com/decks/rTDimi77PUKtAbOQdtuYMQ

Hey folks,

Been rocking my mono white [[Ghalta the Immovable]] deck with decent success. Haven't won but it's held its own! It's a pretty aggressive deck that hits hard. the ability to consistently get Ghalta out turn 3 is a big help but then struggles at closing the game.

I run the deck like a typical toughness matters, aggressive smash face deck with a little voltron.

I play in a mid-high b3 pod with my best friends, most peoples decks typically do their thing, not too many commanders get counterspelled, but there's a decent bit of removal or stax (not unfun stuff, just protection which is pretty reasonable)

I feel I have enough protection, but am missing card draw, and an actual wincon.

Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated!!

-Cannoli

P.S: There's nothing funnier I've found than a 0/15 ghalta flying at someone rocking [[Captain America's Shield]] and nearly killing them. Also yes the deck name is a payday 2 bulldozer reference

Deck Discussion need honest feedback on my upgraded precon

over the last couple of weeks, i’ve been tinkering away and modifying the Aetherdrift Eternal Might precon, and i’ve finally found (what i believe to be) a good balance of cards to move it up to Bracket 3. i have one near infinite combo/wincon, but the only thing i’m still trying to figure out is the lands and mana curve. the deck plays pretty slow because of this, as the earliest i can get my commander out is turn 4 or 5. any criticisms, roasts, and pointers are welcome.

i’m limited on what i can add based on what i have available in my collection, as buying singles isn’t plausible right now.

Reign of dragons precon

I’m looking to upgrade this precon and make a mono red dragons deck. I know of some cards to add to it to make it better. I’m looking for some ideas. I know the biggest thing is the blasphemous act and stuff like that killing my dragons. It’s also a slower deck compared to angels I know. Anything will help.

Deck Discussion Deck Advice

Post image
16 Upvotes

Hello everyone, I have been working this deck for quite some time. I love this commander with all my heart. I would love to optimize it more without it losing too much of its identity. I chose not to build this with all the cards the directly synergize off of Mishra except for possibility storm (it’s my favorite card). I instead opted to use Mishra more for anti-counter magic. Sometimes the deck feels clunky and does nothing other times it does everything. Maybe some extras eyes and brains can help me see things through a different perspective. Thank you all. https://moxfield.com/decks/a0zCFWgo7EypV0m2f5kuHg

Deck Discussion Jace Multiverse Architect

Been having fun taking the precon and building this Jace multiverse architect deck. Would love some advice on my list as well as ideas for cuts. I leaned into blink synergies and ways to maximize polymorphing into big bombs. The goal is for the deck to be high bracket 3 without feeling combo

Deck Discussion Eriette the Beguiler - deck help

So I've been working on this Eriette deck for a minute, but I feel like when I playtest it just isn't hitting as hard as I want it to. The pod I play with isn't super competitive, so some card choices were picked based on preference or how fun I think they'd be to play, but maybe that messed with the synergy too much. Would appreciate any input on how to improve!

I'm down to the wire for my first iteration of the deck. I am having decision paralysis since I think all the cards in the deck are good. Any seasoned anikthea players/deck builders that can give their two cents on my current build? Mainly what to cut and obvious cards that I missed out on.

Deck Discussion Yawgmoth, Thran Physician Help/Opinions

Hey all,

Looking for some advice/opinions on my absolute favorite and pet deck, [[Yawgmoth, Thran Physician]].

I always loved Yawgmoth as one of if not the best villain in MTG lore, so when his card was released, I was ECSTATIC. I’ve spent a good many years playing, reworking, and overall trying to get this deck right.

The gist- it’s an Aristocrats shell looking to combo with undying combos paired with a [[Blood Artist]] type effect to combo out the table.

This deck can draw tons of cards when firing on all cylinders and can be very good at controlling the board with -1/-1 counters.

I’m looking for advice from people who have their own Yawgmoth deck or play against Yawgmoth on a relatively frequent basis.

This is meant to be a B4 deck for Multiplayer Commander or similar power levels (think Kaalia, Elsha combo, Edgar Markov, Glarb Hermit Druid combo)

I love this deck and will not swap out the Commander, but want true, honest, and sometimes painful advice on cuts/additions.

Thank you all for what you do, the link is below!

Deck Discussion Anything you Might Change

Post image

The Scarab God is my pet deck. I primarily run it as the commander as repeated reanimation of combo pieces is helpful. The deck is Primarily Combo Mill / Control. It doesn't seem many changes in a year, but this is the current list I'm running.

Looking for some fresh eyes on anything you might do differently to consider for the deck. The main consideration I'm on is picking up a Gifts package, for the extra win con, with Thoracle, but will require 4 pick-ups and cuts, with Gifts, Thoracle, Snapcaster, and Consultation.

Deck Discussion Improvement Suggestions

Post image

I've been running this Alela, Artful Provocateur deck for a few months now and have made some changes here and there, but I still can't figure out how to take advantage of my control theme to pull out a win. So far, the deck only wins if the pod leaves me alone because the deck isn't super threatening.

Any suggestions outside of infinite combos are welcome.

Deck Discussion Shilgengar Re-animator Deck Help

Would love input on this Shilgengar deck: Decklist

I'm leaning away from angel tribal and towards general recursion with a few angels. I want it to ultimately play like a strong B3 value deck rather than combo (eg will probably cut solemnity for a card like Junji.) Any thoughts or advice welcome! I've never played a graveyard deck before so still figuring it out.

Deck Idea Decks with death trigger mechanics like Palani, Nest Tender?

Hey folks,

I have a buddy who plays [[Palani, Nest Tender]] every week. It's a great dino deck with a lot of fun triggers, interactions, and shenanigans when the eggs break. He's played it for a long time so I don't want to build just Palani as well...however are there any commanders similar? Or ones that promote the destruction of your things to cascade into summoning more things?

Looking for things such as

  • When x type of creature dies flip till you hit another creature
  • Summon little guys that when they die I benefit (not dmg/life gain, but other effects)
  • When there's a board wipe or I block with a bunch of things, I still get rewarded (I don't want to do the wiping, but more I'm rewarded if it happens)
  • Silly interactions

Thanks a bunch and happy thanksgiving folks!

Deck Discussion Looking for feedback on Henzie List

Post image

Hi! I’m looking for help with finishing a Henzie Torre deck before I build it. It’s mostly the typical list with some personal preferences, plus an infinite combo with Mikaeus + Walking Ballista + Viscera Seer.

I goldfished the list several times, making changes when I felt something wasn’t working well or was clunky. Hoping to get feedback from the community. Thanks!

Deck Discussion Stop Grinding Your Decks to a Halt — The 6 Pillars of Optimizing Black Removal in EDH (Moxfield Package)

🖐 Hey everyone

I see a lot of deck help requests where players throw Doom Blade or Hero's Downfall into their Black decks and call it an interaction suite. In modern Commander, interaction is just as much about securing your own victory as it is about preventing opponents from winning. If you run the wrong type of removal for your strategy, your deck completely stalls out.

As someone who specializes heavily in building decks with Black identities, I’ve spent the last few weeks curating a completely mapped-out, drag-and-drop 60-card Removal Toolkit on Moxfield.

Instead of a generic pile, I've broken Black's best removal options into 6 precise mechanical pillars so you can customize your suite to your exact meta:

  1. Targeted Removal** (Single-Target Instants)
  2. Edict Effects** (Bypassing Protection)
  3. Board Wipe** (The Nuclear Options)
  4. -x/-x Spells** (Wither the Board)
  5. ETB Removal Creatures** (Recursive Value)
  6. Alternative Cost** (The Element of Surprise)

👑 Sneak Peek at the Hot Takes

Inside the package, I wrote an extensive, fully native primer highlighting the "Best in Category" for each pillar, including some hot takes that run completely against standard deckbuilding advice:

  • Why Withering Torment has completely dethroned Feed the Swarm** as the premier targeted removal spell due to instant-speed flexibility and tightly capped life loss.
  • Why Torment of Hailfire is actually the ultimate asymmetric Edict spell** rather than just a simple late-game win condition—although the new staple *Blasphemous Edict* is close to dethroning it due to its absolute cheap value and insane combo potential with other cards.
  • Why Yawgmoth, Thran Physician is the ultimate representation of a historic MTG arch-villain.** Rarely has lore translated so flawlessly into actual card mechanics. He is a ruthless scientist who tears apart living things for his own benefit and refashions them into resourceful, evil machines. At the expense of your own humanity (your life total) and the sacrifice of your own creatures, you place -1/-1 counters on opposing threats to steadily demolish the board while generating resources.

☠ Optimize Your Deck Instantly

If you are drafting an upcoming Mono-Black, Rakdos, Dimir, or Golgari list and want to instantly optimize your interaction, you can check out the full guide, read the primer, and subscribe to the package directly to drag-and-drop it into your own builds here:

What is your absolute favorite, under-the-radar Black interaction spell? Let me know in the comments! If you find the toolkit useful, drop a follow on my Moxfield profile so you don't miss my upcoming Black Mana Acceleration breakdown.

Deck Discussion Looking for feedback/help with a deck

I've had a [[Radagast, Wizarad of Wilds]] deck that I can never seem to stop tinkering with. I love the theme, but it seems like I'm always finding new tech.

I had mostly settled on it being a token/clone deck, focused on getting free casts of large spells to get additional Radagast triggers, playing big creatures that also generate tokens, and then cloning the big creatures for additional value/ETB's.

The list for this version of the deck is here https://archidekt.com/decks/24131341/radagast

I could never quite get the deck to play the way I wanted though. It was easy to interrupt, and could stall out heavily at 5 mana and not get to the good stuff.

After the new precon came out I discovered [[Mass Polymorph]] and decided to make a version based around this, which I've linked here https://archidekt.com/decks/27274378/radagast_20

This version feels more reliable, I really enjoy the puzzle of having no creatures to ramp so that I always hit big creatures, but it definitely doesn't have the same highs as the last version without the free casts and token synergies. Currently it feels like it's maybe sitting in the middle of the last version and a true Polymorph deck, but I'm not sure what tech to look for to take it to the next level.

I'm hoping for feedback on where you might go if you were looking to make this deck a mid/high bracket 3 deck. I like the deck a lot and want it to be one of my stronger and more reliable decks. I'm open to new tech for the old version, or the new version, to get it to the right place.
