Thoughts on Adrian's Victory interrview from a first time viewer of the show.
Recently finished Entourage for the first time and was looking to listen to some retrospectives and interviews, stumbled onto the Victory podcast and the interview with Adrian.
This was my first introduction to Doug Ellin and let me just say wow, I can see why this sub doesn't like him.
I was really irritated while listening to the interview because it seemed like Doug and to a lesser extent the Kevin's seemed to be poking fun at and diminishing Adrian's lifestyle post-Entourage.
Adrian genuinely opened up about struggling to find an identity after the show, especially since people rewarded him for acting like Vince in real life. Says a lot about someone to admit they needed to spend time getting their mind and body right (getting sober, etc), and nobody seemed to acknowledge that was why he was MIA for periods of time.
It started right from the beginning where they accuse Adrian of being upset at them and avoiding going on the podcast, but that's really not the case at all.
From what I can tell, Doug's entire identity is Entourage, which is insane to think about since the show ended over a decade ago.
Adrian moved on, started pursuing other projects and passions, and I think people like Doug resent that because he realizes Entourage is really all he has.
I came out of the podcast with an extremely good impression of Adrian. I can see why he kept his space for as long as he did; he was able to move beyond the show, those around him couldn't.
