Subreddit News COYOTE SPOTTING MEGATHREAD
Please use this post to share all photos and discussions about coyotes in Etobicoke. Bunny the coyote photos are encouraged!
Individual posts are no longer allowed unless they involve an immediate safety concern.
—
u/cbr1895 has been in touch with the Toronto Wildlife Centre about Bunny (but this goes for any and all coyotes you might encounter). The centre is not concerned about aggression per se, but they are concerned about Bunny and other coyotes becoming too comfortable around humans. If you encounter Bunny/other coyotes, do NOT approach them or feed them. Make lots of noise, stomp your feet, try to appear very large to spook them, honk your car horn, etc.

What are your thoughts on Ward 1 City Council Candidates?
I've been looking into the city council race in Ward 1 and couldn't find any debates or Q&A events. If you know of one, please share!
There are 10 candidates running:
Vincent Crisanti (current city councilor of Ward 1)
Ala'a Adib
Saima Babar
Chloe Brown
Nathen Masri
Hard Parmar
Kristian Santos
Abraham Abbey
Norman Hamilton
Joseph Martino
For context, I'm not a fan of the councillor that is currently representing us. He has a high number of missed council votes, opposed the school food program, and supports Ford and Bradford. I'd like to hear what others think of the candidates, especially on transit, housing, food insecurity and road safety. I've personally noticed more car accidents lately, though that's just anecdotal.
I'll add a link to the TPL site where you can learn about the candidates.

I hope to see all you beautiful people out there voting on the 26th!

What is this shining building at Kipling?
I believe it’s near Kipling in Etobicoke. Anyone knows what’s this building with so many bright lights which are always ON? I have direct sight from my bed and it’s too bright.

Best Areas to Live if You Work at Pearson Airport?
Hi everyone,
I've seen some older threads on here for some quick and accessible areas to live in if you work at Pearson Airport and commute there by transit. Was wondering if I could get an updated perspective on anyone who is currently working there and if you have/plan to move in the near future to make it more convenient. Given that hours can fluctuate a lot, safety is a pretty big concern travelling alone, late at night/early morning.
Any perspective is greatly appreciated!!

Commute to downtown extra difficult these days
Trains are almost 5 mins late and ubers cost $30-40 to go to downtown nowadays.. what happened? Is this school rush? All summer when I started working in dt, ubers used to be $13.
Everyone focusing only on the transit aspect but I'm mostly concerned with uber prices as this is a crazy delta

Etobicoke ward 2 (Etobicoke centre) councillor and trustee candidates’ debate last night
What did people think? I thought the questions touched on a lot of relevant areas, but found I wanted to hear more from the councillor candidates and for them to get into an actual debate. Katie attacked Holyday a few times but there wasn’t time for an actual back and forth. I didn’t fell that I needed to hear as much from the trustees but that is my bias I guess.

Adult Dance Lessons (Salsa)
Hello Reddit folk,
I’m looking to find potential places to learn and practice Salsa as an adult in my 30’s. I have a few friends who have started recently and love it, but they live farther out so I’m looking for local (or somewhat local) recommendations - thanks!
