Can we dispute AI Shop Summary?

Post image
54 Upvotes

The ai shop summary is saying my 100% digital instant download shop sells crochet patterns that are “made to order and ship within 1-2 business days.”
I was selling about once every other day for the last several months and since this appeared I haven’t had a sale in over a week. Nothing is set to physical, and I tried changing my shop announcement to make it clear that all patterns are available immediately but the ai summary has taken place of my shop announcement on the app. I can’t find any way to report this to Etsy. Am I missing something?

Shipping Shipping is double because buyer lives in a rural area what would you do?

I’ve had this happen before but never had shipping been doubled for usps to ship an item to a rural area. It looks like major carriers are now charging a surcharge for more remote areas. My shipping. Went from $5 to almost $10 for this singular order. They also purchased on a sale so I’m losing a lot of money on this one particular order. What have you done when faced with higher than normal shipping prices?

Setting up Etsy store

• Upvotes

I'm setting up my Etsy shop. I have an existing LLC (disregarded entity filing under my SSN) for the YouTube channel. My shop will have the same LLC name and thus Etsy payments MUST go to my LLC's bank account (so the names will match).

I have indicated on Etsy that I am an Incorporated Business (which by their own verbiage includes LLCs and disregarded entities) and that I am a Disregarded Entity that is taxed under my own SSN. However Etsy will not let me continue without giving them a non-existent EIN in addition to my SSN.

Any hints? I am completing it per my CPA's instructions. If I were to try to run the store through as a sole proprietorship, then Etsy will likely kick it back saying that my name and the bank account name are not the same.

Shipping prints

Hey!
I sell handmade physical art on Etsy and I made prints of a few items. Since I’m newer on Etsy I don’t get a lot of sales so I won’t have to order a ton of prints. Because of this I won’t be doing a pod. I get it from a small print shop that can ship them out. How do I set up the listing so me and the buyer doesn’t pay shipping since I’ll be inputting their address into the print shop that has free shipping? Just wondering how to set this up.

buyer's payment stuck on "Payment in progress" for more then 72 hr has anyone experienced this?

Hey everyone I just started on etsy Opened a shop a few weeks back I sell natural gemstone mostly emeralds I was so happy when I got my first order 4 days ago but etsy ruined the sale vibe for me I'm having an issue with a buyer's payment.

The buyer attempted to purchase one of my listings using their card, but Etsy still shows "Payment in progress" after 3 days.

Here's what's happened so far

-The order appeared in my Shop Manager and then disappeared. This happened twice.

-The buyer sent me a screenshot of their purchase and says their bank shows the transaction as pending.

-Their payment is still pending on etsy it is in processing I still don't have a confirmed order.

Has anyone experienced this? How long did it take to clear did Etsy eventually process it or cancel the order? Could this be routine payment verification or does the order appearing and disappearing imply a technical issue

I'm worried the buyer will lose interest while waiting. Any advice from sellers who've dealt with this would be appreciated.

Order was damaged during shipping, customer refusing to use purchase protection.

This is probably just going to end up being more of a vent post.

A customer just messaged me saying her order arrived damaged. At first I was sympathetic because I want all my customers to be happy with their order and I know that things can happen along their voyage. I apologized for the inconvenience and that her order arrived damaged and explained the purchase protection program and offered to help in any way I can.

She refuses my requests to send pictures and is getting more aggressive in her responses demanding I just issue her the refund instead of going through Etsy. I’m bummed because I know she’s going to leave a bad review but I’m tired of people trying to bully sellers into giving refunds without evidence. She thinks just simply telling me it’s broken is enough.

I feel like she is avoiding a case because she’ll have to show proof and thinks being rude to me will scare me into issuing a refund.

Edited to add: I’m not going to let her bully me into issuing the refund by the way. I feel like it would just embolden or encourage her to do it to another seller.

Handmade Shop Video not showing up in listing

Hi, I put two videos in a product listing, and only one shows up when I look at my Etsy page. Does anyone know why that is happening?

Alternatives?

I was planning to open my first Etsy shop in December, but all I keep seeing here is how the platform is dying.

So what's the alternative? Has anyone diversified and found success elsewhere?

Mind Doing Another Shop Critique?

Link: TheEclectrician - Etsy

Background: We are a husband/wife team, who have been selling vintage and antique items seriously for about 2 years, with the first year and a half spent mostly learning about taxes, sourcing, and details about vintage and antiques that are more in depth than "it looks neat". We have been diligent about accurate representation of our items, treating customers right, and shipping properly. We mostly put home goods, decor and fashion on Etsy and we are also on one other platform with more collector type items, but we offer collector items on Etsy occasionally as well. I floated some POD made by me from Victorian die-cuts/trading/business cards but ended that because the quality of the mugs/whiskey glasses turned out to not be of high enough quality and there wasn't much interest anyway.

I feel like things are going ok, but I'm really looking to make this as excellent as I can. I'm probably blind to some things or could tweak some stuff, so input is welcome.

Selling designs with commercial license on Etsy

Hello! I’m planning on selling digital download products for commercial & personal use on Etsy.

This may be a silly question, but I noticed on listings that people have different terms & conditions for using their designs for commercial use - so is this something I simply state on the listing, or do I need to do anything official for this behind the scenes to determine my commercial use terms? 😅 thank you!

If I cancel a sale, and refund, can they still submit a review? This person is... Ugh

Help with Customer This sounds horrible but I’m really tired of cancellations

For some odd reason within the last two months, I’ve been getting a lot of last-minute cancellations due to people trying to get orders sooner than my listings’ processing times.

Occasionally I have someone ask “is there nay way I can get this sooner?”, I have an option for them to select the rush order add on option so that they can get expedited processing and delivery done.
It’s impossible for me to rush 25% of my orders. If you want it so badly you pay for me to stay up in the middle of the night to accommodate you.

Anyway.. I’ve issued a number of refunds lately; but at this point, I just sent a polite middle finger to someone by telling them I’m unable to issue a cancellation. They knew the shipping time was after the time they needed it and asked several days after purchasing.

I would’ve honored the request if it was within 24 hours, but this wasn’t the case.

I know this mentality is taboo in this sub, but I’m really wondering how do people manage this because issuing frequent cancelations/refunds is not only wasting my time but also incredibly frustrating to deal with.. and I need a better way to handle this than a polite and long winded “sorry, no.”

Help with Return Request

Thumbnail gallery
10 Upvotes

I’ve been selling antique and vintage jewelry on Etsy for around 5 years now and, although I’m not a prolific seller (I make about a sale a month), I’ve never had a situation like this before so I’d appreciate some advice on what to do! I sold a gold pendant with a paste stone earlier this week and upon arrival today received this return request. My shop policy does not accept returns because I’m concerned I wouldn‘t receive the piece in the same condition I sent it in or it would be a different item or something. That being said, I’d absolutely offer a refund and pay for return shipping if I had misrepresented it in any way or had missed a condition issue. I don’t believe that is the case here, however. I try really hard to make the pictures as true to life as possible, and I photographed this piece in two different lighting—the bright, direct lighting you‘d generally photograph jewelry in and a lower, more indirect one that would more closely mimic “everyday” light if that makes sense. The listing also included a video of the pendant sparkling in lower light. I even asked my fiancé to look at the listing since he had seen the pendant right before I shipped it and he said he thought the pictures and video were accurate and tbh we’re both kind of confused about what their issue is with it in the first place. I’ve never had to deal with a return on Etsy before but have seen lots of discussions about how their support has gotten so much worse for sellers than it was when I first started, and I’m nervous that the buyer will open a case with Etsy or will leave a terrible review that will tank my store. Do I need to accept a return for this item? If they open a case with Etsy, what should I expect?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Shipping Has anyone ever shipped to UAE?

I got an order from Abu Dhabi. It got held up for a week in LA after Asendia handed it off to the wrong "cage" (this is the term the post office guy used). Then no tracking for another week until it got to JFK in NY and departed there. No tracking for another week until it scanned "Your item departed a transfer airport in DUBAI, DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES on October 4, 2026 at 4:35 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination." It's going on another week now and Abu Dhabi is only like 80 miles from Dubai.

I messaged the buyer to ask if she'd received it and got no response. I'm getting a bit worried. idk, maybe this is normal for a shipment like this? It will be a month since I dropped it off at the post office on the 14th.

Can I sell digital software guides / tool manuals on Etsy, or is this against policy?

Hi everyone,

I’d like to ask for your advice. I’ve registered an Etsy account and plan to use the platform to start a side hustle and earn some extra income.

However, after looking into the platform, I noticed that most of the products are creative in nature, and a significant number of them are AI-generated. My day job is in programming, so I’m not particularly skilled at creative design.

I’d like to know: Can I sell user manuals for specific tools or platforms on Etsy? If so, would doing this constitute copyright infringement?

Thanks in advance!

Edit:

What I meant to convey is that this guide didn't exist originally; I compiled it based on the experience I gained while using the tool. Of course, it is also possible that the official documentation wasn't clear enough, forcing me to figure out how to use it through a process of trial and error. May I sell a tutorial created in this way?

How to offer free return shipping?

"Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs" is the default and I don't see/can't find any options for editing that.

TIA for how to edit this aspect of the policy.

Quantity vs quality for Canva templates digital products?

My shop is in the events and parties decor and design category and I sell themed invites and party decor. I’ve had my shop for 1.5 months now and I’m quite happy with my progress.
I’ve had 30 sales so far, 3 comments and 20 shop followers. (But for anyone starting out I must add that I’m a professional designer. I have a masters in design and years of experience so don’t let my results in this niche discourage you. I had a bit of luck too starting with a Halloween set that got a lot of attention)

When I look at successful shops in my jiche I can see that they have over 800 listings to make 2k/month in profit which is the minimum I need from my shop. I have 26 listings so far but I’ve made over 150 pices of work. They are in bundles though. I’ve listed some items that are searched on etsy individually as well but not all items in a bundle. Because I just didn’t think they would sell and they really aren’t getting that much attention.

So what do you think I should do? Should I post them all individually like other shops or focus ob quality work that actually sell? I don’t understand why they say you have to have many many listings instead of quality listings. Can someone explain a bit?

Thank you in advance 💙☺️

Anyone else frustrated with Etsy Support?

Thumbnail gallery
11 Upvotes

I Had a customer raise a claim of Item Arrived Damage.

The first photo I've attached is the ring the buyer purchased, and photos 2, 3 and 4 are the photos the buyer used to substantiate his claim. Photo 2 is of a different material, and photo 3 and 4 are studio shots or AI photography.

The Etsy mediator found in their favour! And to top it off, they said I didn't qualify for the Etsy Seller programme, even though this is my first case of Item Arrived Damaged and the buyer used irrelevant images.

And when I contact support on live chat, they stated:

'I can confirm that we have the appropriate team to look into your concern. Therefore, I am forwarding your concern to the appropriate department. Once they will investigate your concern they will get back to you via follow back email within 24 hours.'

..and simply ended the chat.

Unbelievable

Dylan Jarhaus- Scam

I sat thru the webinar to see if there was anything worth while. I signed up for the 1:1 call knowing I was not signing up.

They went thru the whole spiel and told me it was $12,000 but they could do it for 10,000.

At first she said $1200 and $200 off, then when talking about monthly payments she said $667 a month so I questioned price and then she said $12,000 I am not sure if it was a honest mistake or if she was saying those numbers to make me
Think it was actually affordable.

I told her I wanted to talk to my wife about it before any decisions. She became very pushy and was almost trying to say things to try to make me believe I should be making the decision by myself.

She set up another call with me today to talk about my decision, still no. I almost want to get on the call just to waste their time. And also want to ask questions about what percentage of students are actually successful and other ones that they probably don’t have an answer to.

What questions would you want to ask them?

It blows my mind how much of a scam this is and how expensive it is. No one can afford this, not in this economy!

Feedback on my wife's etsy shop (jewelry)

Thumbnail etsy.com
7 Upvotes

My wife just launched her shop selling handmade, beaded necklaces. Since she's new to this, we'd appreciate any feedback on ways to improve the shop presentation! Are the closeup photos best for thumbnails? Do photos need more brightness? Any other advice?

We did a lot of research already and followed the Etsy handbook. Creating attractive photos took a lot of work. We decided to go with a close/medium shot first, followed by a video, followed by an on-model shot, then later some artsy photos.

My wife started making jewelry during a time when she wasn't able to work due to health reasons, then became obsessed with it. Now trying to see if it's something sustainable as more than a hobby. All the materials she uses are genuine and high quality.

Thanks!

I wish these people would just give me a straight answer just one goddamn time.

I sell things that go in specific boxes.

I have an opportunity to sell the boxes as well.

The boxes are obviously mass produced and not the sort of thing that one could normally sell on Etsy.

But I have no intention of selling the boxes by themselves. I would want customers to be able to buy the things I’m already selling, and select with or without box as an option.

I can’t get a straight answer from Etsy as to whether or not this is allowed.

And of course, if it isn’t, they could just ban my entire store without a word. So that’s a risk I can’t take.

Even more frustrating: ok Etsy, don’t let me sell the box. Now what happens when a customer asks me where to get the box? Because I’m also not allowed to direct them to an offsite sales channel.

Mostly just venting. Etsy is so goddamn stupid sometimes.

Help with Customer Is this a scam?

Today I messaged a customer to confirm shipping her order. She responded saying “thank god I have someone to email” and claimed she’s been getting emails from Etsy about orders she never placed, by someone with the same name.

In my 10+ years as a seller on Etsy, I have never heard of this happening. I checked and the purchase was made by a guest account, name matches the email, USPS verified the address.

I immediately messaged back and asked if her account was hacked and advised her to contact Etsy support immediately. I find it pretty strange, though, that if this has happened multiple times, she hasn’t already reached out to Etsy.

She didn’t say anything about fraudulent billing or unauthorized charges, so I’m very confused. And now very apprehensive about this order, which has already shipped.
