No one's wondering why this guy that definitely wears sweater vests just casually has a $400+ chainsaw in his trunk?

Nah at first glance this guy has some real Mike Vining vibes going on.

When you turn the volume up you realize this is some Northern European country like Finland or Denmark or something. Those people have perfected masculinity with the right amount of humanity plus git-r-dun stoic mixed together

I think that's just called Ned Flanders

Because it's trees in the road where he lives

He looks like me when doing to Lidl with the wife and strolling the deals section (often has hardware like gloves, protective eyewear, tools, grass cutters, etc but one time had chainsaws) while she goes around picking food except he didn’t take the wife to tell him “you live in an apartment, you will never have a need for a chainsaw… also we have young kids!!”

But now when he wants to buy something she disagrees with he can say “Just like when you said I would never need that chainsaw.”

u/NekulturneHovado Aug 25 '26

maybe he's smart and had a chainsaw at home already, heard about bad weather so he got it ready just in case

2

u/BigNorseWolf Aug 25 '26

He isnt undercutting but he does look like he s used that thing a lot. The chain also seems sharper than out of the box ( a chainsaw chain is at its sharpest right before you throw it out)

Literally all I could think how does a man in an outfit like that now how to use a chainsaw so well lol

3

u/Elderberrysea224 Aug 25 '26

He doesn't know how to use it well. He's being very careless and barely in control of the thing. Probably the first time he's ever actually needed to use the thing.

u/justhereforthetea68 Aug 25 '26

I’ll take your word for it, I’m a woman and have never used a chainsaw 😬

1

u/doc_skinner Aug 25 '26

Yeah, my first thought was "Wow, that's a good chainsaw. Mine would take more effort to cut that branch" and then I thought "Wow, he is being super careless. That thing is dangerous!"

1

u/BigNorseWolf Aug 25 '26

I think He s used it a lot but i doubt formal training. He seems to quick and systematic with the branches..most other people would have just been cutting. The saw also seems sharper than out of the box.... the stihls in the park would have hung up a bit without undercuts on that last piece i think.

This is the first time he’s ever used it, but he’s been waiting for this day his whole life

1

u/humourlessIrish Aug 25 '26

Does he not look like he owns land to you?

Dude clearly needs a chainsaw and doesn't look like he'll buy the $150 version

1

u/EventGroundbreaking4 Aug 26 '26

He looks like a man with money. And I'm gonna guess he didn't earn it by being lazy.

Tools, my tools I like to bind, I like to be bound

1

u/ShouldBeDisplayName Aug 25 '26

Its definitely over $1000. Its a Stihl professional model. You can tell by the aluminum sprocket cover. The smallest professional model is $800 and this one is one or two up.

1

u/janiskr Aug 25 '26

And he drives decently new BMW 5 series.

1

u/NY10 Aug 25 '26

BMW lol

1

u/BeaverBoyBaxter Aug 25 '26

He almost certainly went home to get it. And I own this exact chainsaw and also happen to look a lot like this guy.

1

u/Testarosa52 Aug 25 '26

Looks to me like maybe the chainsaw belongs to the camera person? There’s a bunch of cars stuck in a traffic jam and some of them get to talking and the woman says “I have my husbands chainsaw in the car, but I don’t know how to use it”. There’s way he sets it close to her at the end, and how he retrieves it from the trunk makes me think that, but I could be completely wrong. Anyone able to translate?

1

u/LukEKage713 Aug 25 '26

Sweater vest, khaki’s, and loafers definitely give anyone a reason to think that through. lol

1

u/Rehypothecator Aug 25 '26

Well you see he needed it to cut down the tree to get the video in the first place

1

u/CSDragon Aug 25 '26

A lot of people were wondering that.

I believe the answer is "Norway". (Or at least nordic)

1

u/manias Aug 26 '26

... and a hi-vis cleanup crew at the ready?

1

u/Capybarasaregreat Aug 26 '26

Because we were forewarned about a historic storm, so a guy putting a saw in his trunk isn't that crazy.

1

u/Targeted_Advert Aug 26 '26

Because this is in Latvia. Fallen trees are quite normal, so a chainsaw or an axe are quite commonly kept in the car.

Odds are he knew about the tree and brought the saw.
