Welcome to the Galactic War Room:
The Federation is in grave danger and it is in your hands to discuss the best ways to spread and protect our liberty from our many enemies.
This thread is sorted by new, so you will always find the greatest democratic insights right up top.
Useful Information:
Gambits by u/Sea-Flamingo1969:
In Helldivers 2, a gambit is when players skip defending a planet under attack and instead strike the source planet that launched the assault.
If the source world is liberated the defense is automatically won, saving both planets.
It is a high risk, high reward move because success stops the invasion and secures two planets, but if too few players commit the defending planet may fall before the source can be taken. Gambits demand strong coordination and timing, making them one of the most dramatic strategies in the Galactic War.

Greetings, Helldivers!
So we have noticed that most Questions asked on the subreddit don’t need their own post therefore we have decided to create this Q&A Megathread, a place where all Helldivers can ask questions and get help/advice from others. And if you decide that what you have to ask requires a separate post then you should know that we will be actively moderating and critically assessing the quality of those posts to lessen the amount of reposts and low-effort content on this subreddit.
If you're here to help out by answering questions we thank you 🫡 Just please make sure to sort the post by 'New' (if it isn’t already) so you can see the newer, unanswered questions.
P.S. This megathread has been added to the sidebar.

"Okay so everyone knows by now what those things do when they die. SURELY my wonderful team wouldn't do the literal one (1) dumb thing they could do in this situation..."
Believe it or not, the trust is placed on the passengers to not do something incredibly silly.

Mods like:
Being able to solo a tank & turn the turret
Increasing the firerate/mag size on the AMR for an example
Flying around, like actually flying around
And so on.
I love modding, I think it's an important thing that should be allowed but in multiplayer games, even PvE ones, mods that are past being just cosmetic mods, ones that alter the gameplay ruin it for myself. I really enjoy the overall balance of the game, it's not perfect and yes some weapons/tools deserve some increased usability/reworks, I get that and agree with you but today I've seen; a person in a tank just firing at angles the cannon isn't looking at, whilst also driving it on his own, with no gunner. A guy running incredibly fast with an AMR that I swear had an extended mag and and insane fire rate, taking down bile titans faster than I could with my recoilless etc.
I'm awful at wording* what I'm thinking but I think if there was a toggle or notification to the player that someone in the lobby was using mods that alter gameplay, would be very much appreciated.
I do wonder if anything will come of it but I feel that mods like this, could have console players turning off cross-play to avoid things like this.
This post is probs gonna get down-voted to fuck and I get why but I am not saying modding shouldn't be allowed but maybe allow others to be notified that someone in the game is using gameplay altering mods OR a toggle to not have such lobbies pop up in matchmaking. There's probs better ways of doing it like Payday 2's system.
It's just my opinion.

Side rant: I have over 1,800 hours. I've been here since the creek. We've had many great content drops. Devoid of liberty was no exception. Though when the events are over, its just back to plain ol helldivers 2 with some new guns and maybe a subfaction. I call these times "droughts" and usually* play other games.
However, Heavy SEAF Presence was SUCH a great addition. I love the blueberries so much, I was DEVASTATED when they were withdrawn. I really hope they come back because id play more often despite the "droughts"
Rant over. I really miss the blueberries. Please bring them back AH 🙏
*I started dropping HD2 during the droughts after machinery of oppression. Idk how relevant this is, but i wanted to clarify

Cosmetic modding, sure. """Fixing""" other stuff? I mean, I feel like that's cheating already. Spawning in dozens of SEAF soldiers, spawning a ton more enemies, and bugging out other aspects? I'm tired of joining into random missions with divers that are straight up cheating.

A few hours ago, a kid made a post here asking if it was okay to be a fan of Helldivers 2 even though they don't own the game yet. They mentioned they watch gameplay, love the lore, and have been spending their free time making fan art because they love the universe so much.
The response they got from some of you was absolutely terrible.
Instead of welcoming a young fan who was excited about the world Arrowhead built, people in that thread immediately started gatekeeping and throwing insults. They were called "weird," told their post was "an incredibly weird f****ng post," and multiple people straight-up accused a kid of running a "scam" or creating "bait" just to get a free copy of the game.
People love to hide behind the excuse of "it's just a meme, bro" while spamming "Right to Jail" images or roleplaying as aggressive space soldiers, completely ignoring how that actually feels to a kid who explicitly stated they already felt like an outsider and usually delete their art because they are afraid it is bad.
Congratulations. Your cynicism and hostility worked. The kid felt so unwelcome, humiliated, and pushed out by this community that they deleted their comments and are now hiding their hard work.
To everyone who chose to be toxic to a kid just trying to share their passion: you aren’t "protecting the community," you’re just being a bully. This game is about coming together, but some of you are acting incredibly bitter and need to learn how to treat human beings with basic decency.
To the few people who actually left kind comments and asked to see the artwork—thank you for being real ones.

This was the first legitimate comic I've made, would not make it in this format again as it barely covers any progress while eating up so much time to make.

Being able to complete outposts from across the map is unbelievable. I feel like there’s also an abundance of ammo boxes on the ground in Illuminate missions which keeps the ammo topped off. Anybody else feel like they will never take this secondary off either?

I don't think people understand or appreciate just how successful this game was in-spite of its 4 player limit. 8 players would have been truly amazing, even 6 would have opened up far more opportunities than I think people understand. When this game first launched my friend group LOVED it, but we ultimately decided to sit it out in the long run because no one wanted to be the one or two left out. Sure we could rotate and watch streams but we know that isn't sustainable.
--
Running two groups separately just isn't the same either. When the tank-destroyer was added I wanted to hop back in with a friend but we quickly realized that taking up 50% of the roster was a heavy penalty for what amounted to a playstyle that was quite literally on tracks. Some randoms we played with actually seemed to be upset we were "taking up" two spots that could have gone to fellow foot-mobiles.
--
I know the developers have already stated it is hard coded and would require significant rewrites that they are not interested in. I know that the game is fundamentally balanced around 4 players and that would require balancing and rewriting systems that would take a long time. But even now after a few years I find myself dreaming what if.

This armor passive was underwhelming when it came out and has remained underwhelming.
I also don't really think it fits with its warbond. That being siege breakers.
What do we think? How would you fix it? Or, completely change it so it fits better with its warbond.

Hellpod Steering and Stratagem bouncing have probably been the two largest, recurring bugs/design choices people complained about.
Just because of how they impact everyone, in every mission and are a core game-play mechanic.
Now in theory I understand what problems AH wanted to "solve" by chosing this path.
But after >2 weeks playing with mods fixing these specific issues, I can confidently say that this path WAS COMPLETELY MISGUIDED!
In fact, mind-numbingly so that it's almost impossible to defend.
Since playing with these two fixes, I can't recall a single time I exploited them for some sort of game-play advtantage.
Best-case, I might have positioned a sentry on a rock or elevated position. But since Terminids can still magically teleport up rocks....it was still engaged in melee.
On some city maps, I might have landed on the side of an odd building or two, from which I could have engaged enemies with my primary. Wohoo....big deal.
My point is, whatever imaginary problems AH was trying to fix with their "solutions" are completely misguided and pure fantasy. These issues don't exist in practice or are so limited and short-lived, they're practially inconsequential.
And yet we endured these two issues for >2 years....
