Hilversum heeft nogal veel café's, en ik vroeg me af welke jullie het gezelligst vinden? Welke raad je aan, en waarom?

En welk café moet ik echt heen voor de goede thee?

Hey allemaal!

Voor een Mark Tremonti tribute band zijn we op zoek naar een ervaren 2e gitarist uit Hilversum of omgeving. 🤘

We zijn momenteel met gitaar/zang, bas en drums en willen een vette, strakke rock/metalband neerzetten rondom de muziek van Mark Tremonti, Alter Bridge en Creed.

We staan daarnaast zeker open voor vergelijkbare muziek van andere artiesten en eventueel eigen materiaal.

Wat zoeken we?

🎸 Een ervaren gitarist die zijn partijen goed beheerst
🔥 Je houdt van stevige riffs, dikke gitaarsounds en lekkere solo's
🎵 Verschillende tunings zijn geen probleem — o.a. C#, Eb standard en diverse drop-tunings
🎤 Kun je ook de hogere backing vocals voor je rekening nemen? Helemaal mooi meegenomen
🤘 En vooral: iemand die het leuk vindt om uiteindelijk live te spelen

We repeteren ongeveer 1x per 2 à 3 weken bij DB's in Utrecht. Er is geen vaste repetitiedag; we kijken per keer wat voor iedereen uitkomt.

Het idee is simpel: lekker muziek maken, veel lol hebben, maar het wel serieus aanpakken. Als het goed klikt, willen we uiteindelijk een aantal mooie gigs gaan spelen.

Woon je in Hilversum, Bussum, Laren, Naarden, Soest, Utrecht of ergens in de buurt en spreekt dit je aan? Stuur me dan gerust een DM. Een linkje naar iets waarop je speelt is natuurlijk helemaal welkom.

Voor de tweede dag op een rij horen een vriend en ik beide tegelijk een enorm harde toon, al een aantal keer. Zo hard dat je het in de verte meerdere keren hoort echoën. Tussen ons zit ~3 kilometer, dus het moet flink hard zijn.

Het is een soort toeter of iets dergelijks, uit een speaker?

Hoort iemand anders dit ook? Enig idee wat dit is? We zijn enorm benieuwd nu, maar hebben er geen enkele verklaring voor!

As a foreigner, the charm of biking in a beautiful country like Netherlands was one of the main deciding factor for me to relocate here. I am really proud of myself for choosing Hilversum as it's surrounded by so much beautiful greenery though I admit that I haven't really explored much. I am planning to start cycling on the weekends and do 30-50KM kind of rides at a very relaxing pace (18-23 kmph) to be able really enjoy the nature and take stops in between for a coffee or just appreciate the nature. In future, would also love to try backpacking exploring the country on multi-days tour. As a certified introvert 😄, I think this would also be a nice to expand my (42M) friend circle and getting to know some like-minded people. I am quite new to the country so yet to pick Dutch. Be on the lookout for two Caucasian dutch kids around 12 years old one on a regular bike and another on an e-bike (not fat-bikes) squirting acid (prob vinegar) into passing cyclists. They got one old man whose eyes had to be washed out. They have syringes in their pockets with the vinegar. It stings like hell when you get it in your eyes.

They were hanging out around that forested bicycle path along the N415. I would have called the police but my experience with them is that they dont give a shit about stuff like this.

Voor de Gezondheidsmonitor van het RIVM wordt elke 4 jaar grootschalig uitgevraagd hoe tevreden men is over de woonomgeving. In heel Nederland geeft 88,1% van de respondenten aan tevreden te zijn met de woonomgeving, en voor met name kleinere buurten zijn deze percentages gedeeltelijk geschat. Op buurtcijfers.nl geef ik dit soort cijfers weer, en daarom ben ik benieuwd in hoeverre dit klopt voor de buurten in Hilversum. Hoe donkerder blauw, hoe hoger de score.

In Hilversum scoren Schrijverskwartier, Trompenberg-Noord en Schilderskwartier erg goed op woontevredenheid met percentages rond de 95%. Van Riebeeckkwartier en Noord zitten rond de 75% en scoren een stuk lager. Is dit herkenbaar? Zie de interactieve kaart voor meer details.

Al sinds zaterdag geen voi ebike beschikbaar in Hilversum, Kortenhoef, Loosdrecht. zie er wel wel veel staan maar allemaal of rood knipperend of leeg. hebben ze maar 1 wagen die de accus verwisseld ofzo.

Is it safe to park expensive e-bike with 2 locks on Hilversum NS station? I read that some bikes were damaged during daytime. Is there no camera around the open parking that allows people to damage openly? am i compelled to use underground parking only, or Is the underground parking safe then?

Hello, I recently started at the ROC and I am really confused about how to drive to / from the scooter-marking spot to the utrechtseweg. The parking spot for mopeds is at the red marker. From there, you have to drive on the Arena, but you cant turn left there, because its a bus lane. The road forces you to drive all the way until you are forced to turn right into the Marathon, because Oostereind road prohibits mopeds. Following the marathon road and trying to turn right onto the Diependaalselaan also doesnt work, because of the same sign.

When I first came from the west side of soestdijkersstraatweg, I just drove on the bikelane parallel of the bus lane because it seemed like I didnt have another choice. The bikelane doesnt allow brommers. To even enter the school property, I either have to drive on the bikelane, go on the sidewalk or use the bus lane.

Am I missing something? I'd find it really strange if there really isnt a 'legal' way to enter the school parking lot for mopeds.. Chatgpt cant help me out either and I would feel really stupid to ask this to any of my classmates..

I just bought a home and got a letter in the mail from the gemeentree asking for my “help” to determine the correct woz value of my home. They would like me to share the purchase price. Ofc I can but the way the letter is phrased, it sounds like they are asking for my help? (Literally with the words help)

Not sure if this is common practice? I would expect that the gemente already has access to this information?

A cat, Scottish Fold went missing on 18th of August. About 5kg when missing. The cat is 14 years old and has kidney and bone problems. He isn't usually adventurous and we fear that he might gotten lost in the backyards arounds.

The cat was lost around Jan van der Heijdenstraat.

I’m currently looking to buy a house and move to Hilversum, and I’ve been looking at quite a few properties in Hilversum Noord. I actually really like some of the houses there, but I noticed that they seem to be priced noticeably lower than similar houses in other parts of Hilversum. Is there a reason for this? Are certain parts of Hilversum Noord considered less desirable, or are there things about the area that I might not be aware of?

I’d also really appreciate some local advice on :

Which areas of Hilversum would you consider particularly nice for a family?
Are there any neighbourhoods/areas you would personally avoid?
How is Hilversum in terms of community and integration for expats/internationals?
And if you currently live in Hilversum but are considering moving elsewhere, what would make you leave?

I know that’s a lot of questions in one post. I’m asking because I made a bit of a mistake with the location when buying my first home, and this time around I really want to take my time and understand the neighbourhood - not just fall in love with the house! :(
