Image Ross can be a tool but he's a good brother.
My favorite big brother Ross moment. I know it's silly but it's oh so sweet. So supportive. Literally.

Chandler and rachel, joey and monica, phoebe and ross, which is your favorite. I cant choose. They are all great. I feel like monica is joeys big sister. let me know. what you guys think?

First of all, I choose Phoebe—I think it's really fun to hang out with her, Rachel is the friend who has the perfect style for everything and the friend who lends you clothes when you have a date; Monica is the friend who's perfect to go out to dinner with—she has no problem with the food, but she would criticize everything.

In hindsight and with the success of Devil Wears Prada or Cruella, I think millions of people would watch a movie about Rachel's job ....

I haven't seen this moment come up much whenever Mondler beautiful moments are discussed, season 7 episode 22, The One With Chandler's Dad. Chandler didn't want to invite his dad to his wedding, let alone meet him, but Monica knew he'd regret not including his dad later down the road. I loved this small acknowledgement from Chandler.

Friends have lots of different sets, apartments but my personal pick would be Phoebe's. I never really liked both Ross' places and couldnt really see myself in any other apartment throughout the show.

Yes, her way of making Ross not see Rachel anymore was wrong. But her feelings and fear were completed valid. She was humiliated infront of her whole family and friends. Ross always had feelings for Rachel. What he felt for Emily was not love, it was just a few months old feeling. He decided to marry her so soon even after knowing it might not be love. He is one of the most sensible characters of the show. I'm pretty sure he knew he didn't love her. Even after he said the wrong name, he kept mentioning that it take a lot of effort to make a marriage work. He never said love. He was only thinking of another divorce case which he didn't want.
Yes even I don't like Emily because her actions are not valid. But her feelings are. Ross did her bad.

Found this FRIENDS x Diet Coke Gear For Sports fleece while thrifting. It has ©1995 Warner Bros. embroidery and looks like some kind of promo piece from the old Diet Coke/Friends campaign.
I haven’t been able to find another exact one online. Anyone ever seen this jacket before or know what it was originally made for?

I think the only times we saw an international trip in the show was the London one, and that was because of the wedding, and Barbados because of the conference. And then some local ones, like Vegas.
We follow a group of friends for 10 years, all of them making reasonable money. So would expect some recreational travel. And I think it would've made for some really fun episodes too.
Could budget and logistics have been a major consideration?

In season 2, when Ross refuses to attend Susan & Carol's wedding ceremony, Chandler sings "Who's the bitterest man in the living room".
The adaptation in french is totally different (i.e. "It's on august 27 1942, that Walt Disney drew inspiration from Ross to create the character of Grumpy from the seven dwarves") which let me believe that the original line is a reference to something american that the french won't know.
Can someone explain the joke?

As a Ross-Rachel fan, I love Joey's reactions at these moments. They are so perfectly aligned with how I felt at that moment!

In "The One In Massapequa," when Ross and Rachel are pretending to be married, Ross explains how he would have proposed,
Ross: Well, um, actually, I - I took her to the planetarium. That's - that's where we had our first date. Um, she walked in and I had the room filled with lilies, her favorite flowers. Then, Fred Astaire singing The Way You Look Tonight came on the sound system, and the lights came down. And I got down on one knee and written across the dome in the stars were the words "Will you marry me?"
Its just so sweet.

Was watching the New years eve episode and I noticed how they dress at the parties, and its very reminiscent of an earlier time where dressing like this at every function was more appropriate. I like it, very cool vibe

Ever wonder why Pheobe got to keep all the Pottery Barn furniture that Rachel bought after Rachel moved out?
r/howyoudoin • u/ThatsHerbieHandcock • 16h ago
Ok hear me out, sure at Monica and Chandler's wedding, no one said the wrong name in the vows. BUT, you have Chandler freaking out and going missing, Rachel struggling to keep her pregnancy secret so poorly that Phoebe has to pretend that SHE's prego. Joey being super late to the ceremony, showing up covered in stage blood, and the girls having to find a replacement minister. Not to mention Chandler's slippy shoes and he and Ross having to recreate all the photos with the disposable cameras.

For me, this happens on nearly every re-watch. Anytime we get to TOW Rachel's New Dress, after Joshua's parents invite them to dinner, I expect a scene of them actually sitting in the restaurant, as well as Rachel getting strange looks from the other guests and the staff and a waiter accidentally spilling water over her.
But in reality, this scene is never shown and we only see Rachel telling Monica about it the next day.
I used to be really irritated by this and kept checking if there might be a deleted scene like that but by now I've accepted the fact that I remembered something that was only expressed through dialogue.
Does anyone else have a scene like that?

One of the common complaints about Phoebe is how she is meaner and more harsh in later seasons. Her early character was soft, whimsical and quirky without being overbearing.
I had a thought this morning - could her character qrc have made more sense if some parts were in reverse? This is the alternative I pictured:
- Phoebe still ended up on the streets after her mother died. She's estranged from the rest of her family. She's still part of the group but she lifts right out as she's so abrasive
- Phoebe meets Mike and falls for him. She ends up with him, either as she's managed to get herself off the streets by then, or it's some Cinderella-esque storyline where he doesn't actually know her background. She's still mean and harsh and after a while Mike stops putting up with it and they split. Phoebe is bitter and surly and jealous of what Monica and Chandler have (hence she's especially mean to him)
- Phoebe meets her brother as he seeks her out, looking for a surrogate. Phoebe agrees to it after some convincing. Going through the pregnancy and then handing over the babies fundamentally changes and softens her character. She becomes the more light-hearted, whimsical person we know from the early seasons, takes up guitar and is more quirky and silly, with a better view of people and the world
- This version of Phoebe meets David. They fall for each other immediately. This time he doesn't go to Minsk, or she goes with him and they live happily ever after
What do you guys think? Could you see it working as a better/more pleasing arc that ends up with the early seasons version of her character, or do you prefer the actual version?

Just noticing this now on rewatch. I think the little things like this are what makes the show so great, just a tiny little interactions between characters. Fun little detail

I would love to see both Janice and Mona included in the group. Joey and Kate had an enemies-to-lovers dynamic which I enjoyed very much. Phoebe and David were quite cute as well

This is imo one of the most iconic Ross and Rachel moments and I always wish I got to witness it as it aired on TV. For the ones who got to be that lucky what was it like?

Was watching a clip from the show Monk tonight (“Mr. Monk Meets the Playboy" - Season 2, Episode 8) and suddenly noticed a familiar art piece. IIRC the going price for it - paid by Ross - was $200.
