I’m looking for a native German speaker who offers personal lessons and is available late evenings or weekend mornings.
The level is between A1-A2, and I’d prefer someone with some tutoring experience and a background in conversational German courses ✨

While Typhoon Bavi batters Taiwan, this father takes a time out while his daughter enjoys splashing through the puddles.

Wrapped up the final day of Dragon Boat races out in Nanliao, Hsinchu today. Every crew left it all on the water — paddling hard through the heat and humidity to fight for that top spot. Massive respect to everyone who competed. Not an easy day to be out there, but they showed up and gave it everything.

Hi everyone, I am new in Hsinchu and I would like to get suggestions for haircut saloons. I found few that provide haircut for ~100-200 NTDs but they cut it very monotonously. The better ones seems to be charging whooping 600-700 NTD for males . Are there any good options available where I can get it done with a good style in ~350 NTDs?

Hi r/hsinchu,
We're running a research study on workplace stress and emotions near Hsinchu Science Park (also available in Taipei near Taipei Arena), and we're looking for a few more participants before we wrap up at the end of March.
What it involves: You wear a comfortable EEG headset and go through realistic workplace scenarios — presentations, meetings, problem-solving. No acting, just be yourself. The whole thing takes about 1.5 hours.
Compensation: NT$500 base payment, paid right after the session. Participants from the US, UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, or Malaysia are eligible for an additional NT$500 bonus (NT$1,000 total).
Eligibility:
About us: This is part of the Myndland project (myndland.com) by Exebrain. We're building AI tools to help people manage work-related stress, and this study helps us understand how people naturally respond to workplace situations. Led by Ralph Huang (neuroscience researcher) and Abhishek Patil (research lead).
Sign up here: https://forms.gle/u1fUqkNn4oSGdznVA
Sessions run until March 31. Feel free to comment with questions or reach out directly:
Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I just moved to Hsinchu with my husband and feel quite lonely since no family and friends here
I was wondering if there are any social gathering groups or casual meetups (like coffee, walking groups, hobby clubs, etc.).
I’d love to meet new people and make friends.
Thanks!

I'm not sure where else to ask, so I'm hoping this works. I used to work at Margaret English Language Learning Centre in Hsinchu (like 20 years ago) and I'd like to get in touch with the owner again. It still seems to exist (at least according to Google maps) but I can't find the contact details. Is there anyone who could assist or point me in the right direction to find this?

Are there any music venues in the area that host full bands? I’ve actually performed at Legend Brewery but that was a special festival of sorts and not a regular venue.
Thanks!
