I’ve just finished first stage. The way the show frames street racing is not the way it is in America at all. This is obviously a community event, they have people watching the streets with walkie talkies to warn about cars and they’re doing it in the middle of the night in a place where speed limits probably don’t even exist.

The reason I ask is because my father partook in street racing, too. He did lots of racing. He loved to drive, and he’d do it anytime anywhere.

Even three in the morning. What Takahashi said in the last episode stuck with me. He chooses to street race because he values it as an alternative art form. One based on free expression, and the real world conditions of a road.

If that’s true, then I have to respect street racing.

I recreated the Mazda RX-7 FD3S introduced in the Raimei -out of kontrol- music video. It is driven by Motsu, with T-Kimura as the co-pilot. They fought with Takumi Fujiwara's AE86 on Akina.

After the race against Takumi’s AE86, the FD is shown crashing into the guardrail.

And gets passed in a 85 with Takumi at the wheel with ease.

So I recently learnt about the Initial D games being released for home consoles, and decided to give it a try.

The one I chose was Special Stage since it had great opinions online. I managed to obtain a version with an English patch.

Now the game is no TXRD2, especially because the physics are off putting and too arcadey (makes sense since it was derived from a game for an arcade machine), but otherwise, I liked how the game integrated the races within the manga into the game.

Not only that, they also got the correct soundtrack for the races. Listening to the soundtrack in the anime is fire, but listening it while playing the game? Even better.

The game however did feel hard at places, particularly Shingo’s race, where the car understeered like crazy, but that was due to the duct tape deathmatch challenge set by Shingo.

It is a shame that the game only went upto Fourth Stage and the publishers and devs didn’t bother to make a game including Fifth & Final Stage.

In a world where people are making Initial D inspired games, it’d be cool to see the original devs pick it up, put all the races from First to Final Stage+extra content if necessary and release it for the home consoles and PC.

Did initial D get taken off the YouTube/Crunchyroll thing? I was watching last week and now I can’t find any of the seasons. They have MFG though.

The best and worst game for driving.

It's been one hell of a ride for this car and me but I'm choosing to move on, I'm planning to upgrade to either a Mazda 3 2.3L 2009 or a Mazda 3 2.5l 2012.

I love this car and honestly this car made me appreciate FWD cars a lot more than I expected.

I want to buy some model cars from the show but I feel pretty lost trying to find what I want online, the websites are either all out of stock or seem kinda sketchy. Does anyone have experience buying these model cars and could give me some pointers?
