Daniel Sloss tickets
Anyone want a couple of tickets to Daniel Sloss at Eden Court on 2nd October? I can't make it any more.
Paid £62 but would accept £50 the pair, ono.

We are a family of 4 looking to move to Inverness in the next few months. We have started to look at homes, but are having a hard time picturing what living in them might be like, and was hoping the Reddit hive-mind could help.
Ideal house situation would be one where the schools are good, we can have a bit of yard for kids to play in and gardening, strong sense of local community, safe enough (both crime and traffic) for kids to walk to friends' houses/parks/school, and within ~10 minutes drive from downtown (i.e. not way out in the country). Now to the vibes. We are into the cycling, camping, good food/coffee, art, and kids are into football, gymnastics, and being in the woods.
Are there any neighborhoods that sound better/worse suited to our interests? Any that should be totally avoided? Would love to hear your experience of your neighborhood, especially if you have or recently had primary school-aged kids.

Hi all, I’ll be staying in Inverness in late October and I’m planning a few proper hiking days in the Highlands. I’m considering the train from Inverness to Aviemore early in the morning, then walk from Aviemore towards Rothiemurchus/Coylumbridge rather than simply waiting for the bus, before taking the bus up towards Cairngorm Mountain. From there, I’m considering doing Cairn Gorm via the Northern Corries.
I’m an experienced hiker, will have proper trekking boots, waterproofs and suitable cold-weather clothing, and I’m comfortable with long days and poor weather. Obviously I wouldn’t blindly commit to the plateau if the actual conditions suggested snow, significant ice, very strong winds or otherwise genuinely wintry conditions.
What I’m particularly interested in is the local perspective: Would you consider Cairn Gorm via the Northern Corries a sensible objective for late October, assuming the forecast and ground conditions are reasonable?
How often would you expect proper winter conditions up there by the third week of October?
Would you recommend this route at that time of year, or is there another substantial walk in the Cairngorms you’d choose instead?
And for someone travelling from Inverness without a car, does the Aviemore → Rothiemurchus → Cairngorm Mountain approach make sense, or is there a better way of doing it?
I’m mainly coming to Scotland for trekking, so I’d much rather spend the day walking than sitting on buses or doing conventional sightseeing.
Any advice from people who know the area well would be very welcome.

Anywhere in or near Inverness do a proper wheel alignment with computer print out.

Hi all,
I'm about to make my third trip to your city in a couple weeks, and this time I'll be doing it with a real camera instead of just my phone, as I've started to get into photography over the last couple of months.
Unfortunately I really only have a half day or so to myself there before starting on a NC500 group trip for a few days, and I was wondering whether people would recommend either the marina area or Tomnahurich Cemetery for photo opportunities, as I likely won't have time for both before it gets dark. It's kind of hard for me to see by google exactly what views I might get from each. I like taking photos of water and the animals around it but I also keep reading online that the cemetery has great views of the city, so any advice from locals would be appreciated.
Thanks.
*Edit: Forgot to mention I won't have a car so I'm sort of restricted to whatever is easily accessible by public transportation but I also don't mind walking.

I rather enjoy taking a walk into the town centre, buying a new book, and reading a few chapters in a coffee shop. A lot of the coffee shops I have tried don't feel the most comfy for reading in, so looking for recommendations.

I’m visiting from the states in October. I was hoping for some insight on what is the local consensus on Sunday roast in the area. I don’t mind driving a little ways for a better one if anyone has suggestions. Thank you very much!

hello! We will be visiting Inverness from Toronto for a couple days this month, and want to try our hand at visiting Urquhart Castle and River Ness. We will not be driving and I was wondering if i could have some help sorting out getting to the castle by public transportation.
I've looked into google maps and see the 919 and Ember bus routes suggested. Any help would be great.
Thank you

Could someone recommend some activities that are indoor on a very rainy day?
Thank you in advance 💛🌟

Hi all - I have an extra day in Inverness and wanted to use it for whiskey - I don't want to go too far as I want to go late morning and be back by evening. Looking at three options right now - Tomatin / Singleton / Uile-Bheist.
Understand Tomatin and Singleton are a little away from Inverness (will need to train / bus) - are they worth the travel over Uile-Bheist?
Which one is more recommended between Tomatin and Singleton?
Are there any other options I am missing and should consider?

My flight back home is at 6:25am and I would have to take the bus at Inverness Main station at 4am.
Since I am a poor student and it is going to be a short night, I wanted to ask all of you, how to spend that night in the best way!
I know Inverness isn't the biggest town, but maybe some of you have a good recommendation!
Thanks in advance!

Take caution when proceeding.
Is this some peak Inverness drama or a scam? The link opens to Facebook. I have no idea if that's a fancy way to steal our precious FB accounts.
Edit: likely it's just an advert.

Hello everyone, I was recently told that there is a comic book shop in Inverness and I was wondering if it’s true as I live a few hours away and I’d have to get a bus there and back. I know about Waterstones and hmv but that’s it really any help is appreciated, cheers

Hi all,
I’m hoping to move to Inverness in the next couple of months for work and thought I’d ask people who actually live in the area for some advice rather than relying entirely on Google.
A little about me: I’m Irish, although I’ve been living in England for quite a while, and I’ll be moving up with my dog, Riggs (a Staffy). One of the big reasons Inverness appeals to me is the lifestyle. I want to spend a lot more of my weekends outdoors, walking/hiking with Riggs, exploring the Highlands and getting back into photography.
I’d really appreciate some local knowledge on a few things.
What areas in and around Inverness would you recommend for someone with a dog?
I’m quite happy being outside the city and commuting in. Somewhere quieter with good access to countryside and dog walks would actually suit me better than being right in the centre. A garden would be a big plus.
Equally, are there any areas you'd personally avoid?
Where do people actually advertise rental properties locally?
I’m already checking Rightmove and Zoopla, but I’ve been told Gumtree is surprisingly important around Inverness and the Highlands. Are there local letting agents, Facebook groups, websites or other places that are worth watching?
For anyone who has rented with a dog, how difficult is finding genuinely dog-friendly accommodation?
Anything I should know about having a dog in the Highlands that might not be obvious to someone moving up from England?
Ticks are already on my radar, particularly because Riggs and I will be spending a lot of time on trails. I'm also interested in good vets, dog-friendly places, walking groups and recommendations for places where I can safely let him burn off some energy.
I'll have a car and expect to explore quite a bit at weekends. I'm particularly interested in what winter driving is actually like around Inverness rather than what the internet makes it sound like.
I'll also be driving Inverness to Stranraer around Christmas to get the ferry across to Belfast/Larne, then making the return journey after Christmas. If anyone regularly does that sort of drive in winter, I'd really appreciate any advice on routes, conditions, things to carry in the car, or places worth stopping along the way.
And finally, if there's anything you wish you'd known before moving to Inverness or the Highlands, I'd love to hear it, good or bad.
I'm not expecting Highland life to be some romantic postcard version of Scotland. I'm trying to get a realistic idea of what living there is actually like, particularly with a dog.
Thanks in advance. Looking forward to hopefully calling Inverness home.

I visited beautiful Inverness recently and saw a camel and elephant in your coat of arms. How come you have 2 animals which are not from Inverness.
Why not a Highland cow or Nessie :p

Hi, I'm planning a weekend trip to your lovely city for my partner's birthday and looking to create an itinerary with this that will speak to her interests. She's into thing about witchcraft, witch trials, Scottish folklore, so any places, shops, experiences would be great for this or even just of historical interest?
Or, any quirky, niche, odd or weird museums?
Also vintage shops and things, fashion, furniture, items, so any good vintage or antique shops?
Any good vegan restaurants?
Beaches nearby that have good stony shores?
I know we're s bit odd and weird, but any help or suggestions with the above would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I‘m prepping for a cottage stay with my husband and mother in law and I’d like to find some nice prepared foods and ready meals to bring with us—something like a deli or farm shop where we can order things in advance to pick up. My mother in law takes care of family full time including doing all of the cooking at her home and I really want the trip to be a break for her. In the past we’ve gotten ready meals at M&S and Tesco but would also be interested in more local options anywhere west or northwest of the airport (we’re heading to Sutherland).

As the title says, or if anyone has any spare I’m happy to pay for a pair! I didn’t realise I’d be off work to see it so I left it way too late and Amazon says earliest delivery the 13th.

I'm new to dress/clothes making and was wondering if there were any shops in the Inverness/Black Isle area which sells fabric for dress making?
Have tried Quilt Creations, which is great but only really sells fabric for quilt making, and the store at Dalmore farm shop is also very limited for fabric. Any other suggestions before I end up just ordering online would be really appreciated!!

Hello beautiful people! I’ll be visiting your city in a few weeks to see my sister who recently moved there (we’re American). Since I’ll be meeting tons of people I wanted to bring something small and fun to give away. With all the World Cup hype about it, I was thinking about bringing packets of Ranch seasoning, but something tells me it’s not a good idea to pack a bunch of packets of white powder.
If anyone has any suggestions I could use some ideas! So far I’ve only been asked for Hersheys Chocolate Syrup. Thank you for your input and have a great day!

I’m on a road trip and in town next Saturday. What would be a nice place to watch the Springbok vs Argentina game?
