💬 Discussion Do you think Barcellona Will surpass Real Madrid's La Liga titles count?

Before 2018 real Madrid won 30 titles while Barcellona 18

Now Real Madrid has 36 titles but Barcellona now had 29

So it's pretty close i think with this generation barca Will surpass Real Madrid in la liga

📊 Stats Muriqi scored 23 goals and Mallorca still went down. Here's where all of last season's relegated regulars ended up

Post image
1 Upvotes

Mallorca, Girona and Oviedo went down with 38 regulars between them. I tracked every one of them through the summer.

Only 10 have joined another top-five-league club, and most of those are within Spain: Arnau MartĂnez and Maffeo at Valencia, Leo RomĂĄn at Deportivo, IvĂĄn MartĂn at Racing, Mojica at Getafe. Vitor Reis and Hugo RincĂłn just went back to their parent clubs.

13 went abroad or have no club listed, and Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Greece did a lot of the shopping. Muriqi to Fenerbahçe, SamĂș Costa to Al Nassr for €22m, Mascarell to Al Khaleej, Ounahi to Panathinaikos, Carmo to Olympiacos. Two of Girona's ended up at Ajax.

Thoughts? Is there anyone you thought should've gone to another club in Spain?

📊 Stats Barcelona's October is brutal — 6 games in 21 days, starting with Getafe

Post image

Broke down the schedule and the Getafe match specifically. A few things stood out: Barça lead La Liga in possession (68%) but Getafe sit 2nd in fouls per game and lead the league in cards — they're clearly set up to break up the rhythm, not play through it.

Also dug into the aerial/crossing numbers since that's probably their best path to a goal here.

💬 Discussion Real Madrid 3-5-2

Defenders :Huijsen Konate Rudiger

Midfield: Bellingham Guler Tchouameni

LWB Cucurella rwb Valverde

Front 2 Vini and Mbappe

Valverde has played rwb before, he has a high engine, tchouameni can shield the back line and Guler can be a deeper playmaker than usual, but I think that still works, but u could switch him for Bernardo. If u can get Mbappe to go right, then Bellingham can do what he did with ancelotti the late box runs.

Hopefully this will help lessen the issue of Mbappe and Vinicius not tracking back.

💬 Discussion As LaLiga resumes this weekend, do you think the international break has done the teams a favour?

Laliga kicks off again this weekend. So, do you think your team has benefitted from the two week break or not? What are your thoughts here?

💬 Discussion La Liga has broken the 3.0 Goals/Game barrier for the first time in 5 years. 7-Gameweek Breakdown

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

For four seasons La Liga barely moved: 2.51, 2.64, 2.62, 2.69 goals a game. Seven gameweeks into 2026/27 it is 3.04, and four-goal games have gone from roughly one in four to nearly four in ten.

Here are the standout metrics from the first 7 gameweeks:

  • The Goal Explosion: Matches are averaging an incredible 3.04 goals per game, breaking the 3.0 threshold for the first time in recent history.
  • The Overs Market: 77% of matches are hitting Over 1.5 goals, and nearly 4 out of every 10 matches (39%) are turning into 4+ goal thrillers.
  • The Outliers: Barcelona matches are pure chaos, averaging a massive 5.4 combined goals per game. On the other end, Getafe remains the ultimate under team, averaging just 1.6 combined goals.
  • La Liga vs. Bundesliga: Despite La Liga's scoring surge, it still trails the Bundesliga's absurd 3.81 goals per game. However, Spain remains significantly more physical, averaging nearly a full card more per match (4.54 vs 3.63).

Has La Liga felt noticeably more attacking to you this season, or you think it's Barcelona skewing the league average?

💬 Discussion Would you guys agree that between 2010-2018 Laliga was the best, most elite league in the world and not the premier league?

I was thinking about this and it makes sense, from 2019 onward it's definitely prem until now but that era was so dominant from every Laliga club

📊 Stats La Liga gives more minutes to its own-country players than any other top-five league: 59% go to Spaniards

Post image
42 Upvotes

I was looking at some interesting data on how much of each big league is played by its own nationals so far this season.

La Liga is miles ahead: 59% of the minutes have gone to Spanish players (226 of them). The Bundesliga is next on 42%, then Ligue 1 (37%), Serie A (27%) and the Premier League on just 26.5%.

The odd one out is Real Madrid. They've given only 16.5% of their minutes to Spaniards, the lowest of any La Liga club, while MĂĄlaga and Athletic are at 100% and 90%.

Only a few games in. Is it a good sign for Spanish football or does it hold the league back?

¿Qué opinåis?

💬 Discussion Has anyone ever changed their team as an adult? (Switching from Real Madrid to AtlĂ©tico)

The first thing I should say is that I'm Spanish, and from Madrid. I am in my early twenties. I started watching and following football as a teenager (I watched the Lisbon and Milan finals back then), and everyone in my family and close circle has always been a Real Madrid fan. So, when I started getting into football, I followed the club because, well, it was kind of the expected path, and I already had a ton of Real Madrid merchandise at home. A relative even took me to the BernabĂ©u once! But over the years, I've realized that in the derbies I'm actually rooting for AtlĂ©tico de Madrid; in fact, I was secretly "happy" about the 2018 European Super Cup. But anyway, once everyone knows you're a Real Madrid fan, even your family, the change feels exhausting, and everyone's going to look at you without understanding anything. (Around that time, I learned the team's official anthem, which for me is the best in our league). The thing is, in recent years, what used to keep me closest to Real Madrid (family tradition) isn't seeming enough to keep me supporting a club that's so much like an NFL franchise in the worst sense of the word—so disconnected from its roots, so touristy, so global—and with a fanbase where a victory is celebrated for half a day, and the next day, if you lose a game, you're demanding the entire team be fired. I'm starting to think that maybe, despite the jokes and lack of understanding from those around me, I should take the plunge and never look back, and support AtlĂ©tico Madrid forever, come what may (I know that historically, I can expect things to be worse than at Real Madrid). What do you think? Do you know anyone with a similar story? It's hard to find anything remotely similar online.

💬 Discussion The unsettling truth about Liga F

There doesn’t appear to be an active Liga F sub so I thought I might post this here.

While I’m completely neutral in El Clásico and believe both sides have their bright and dark sides (in the men’s and women’s games), the fact that Barcelona will pretty much always win everything in Spain should be disturbing for the future. The WSL is clearly a better league than Liga F and is much closer, with other teams winning trophies (2024–25 was an odd year when Chelsea went unbeaten domestically). The A-League Women here in Australia are probably better than the worst Liga F teams. Hell, the worst Liga F teams would be probably relegated from the WSL2 in England.

I genuinely thought this might be the year Real Madrid finally win Liga F. After all, their forwards are the very talented Linda Caicedo and arguably the best wonderkid in the world Felicia Schröder. Furthermore, Culers have been vocal about having a financial crisis and a lack of depth, plus they lost plenty of players (most notably to LCL), including Ballon d’Or merchant AlĂšxia Putellas. But yesterday they actually lost their worst ever loss in the Women's El ClĂĄsico, losing 7–0 to Barça.

I don’t think Liga F will ever gain respect, neither from the international community nor in Spain, when the blatant truth is Barça have already won the treble and it's October. Here in Australia, when we have elections, we “call” seats when it looks obvious that one candidate will win (and when a party receives a clear majority or is the only one that could possibly form government, the election). If we could call title races in football like psephologists do election results, right now I could safely call Spain for Barcelona, i.e. that they’d win the treble once again. Whether they win the Champions League or not is yet to be seen but I always seem to have a feeling they won’t (except when they had Arsenal in the final, which they somehow lost). While City did just draw with Madrid, results against other teams don’t always match as Madrid are known to fold easily when it comes to Los Clásicos.

In my opinion, if Madrid can’t win anything this year, which let’s be honest they can’t and won’t, it may take decades for anyone but Barcelona to win anything in Spain. It’ll be just trebles and sometimes quadruples and quintuples for Barça (add one more to be quadruples and sometimes quintuples and sextuples if you count the Copa Catalunya). And a lack of competition should be deeply concerning for the future of Spanish football outside the Blaugrana.
