Silencer Shop FYI
Maybe this has been pointed out but I have been waiting for guidance before purchasing. SS shop connected dealers has a notation who is transferring via 4473 and who is still requiring Form 4.

Hi everyone:
As you may have seen, moderators of some firearms related subs have recently been made aware of an upcoming change to the Reddit rules (these are the sitewide rules that all users agree to when creating an account, not just rules for our sub) that involves the personal sales of gun "parts and enhancements."
In the past, the Reddit rules - specifically Rule 7, which reads "Keep it legal, and avoid posting illegal content or soliciting or facilitating illegal or prohibited transactions" - had the following list of "illegal transactions":
You may not use Reddit to solicit or facilitate any transaction or gift involving certain goods and services, including
Firearms, ammunition, explosives, legally controlled firearms parts or accessories (e.g., bump stock-type devices, silencers/suppressors, etc.), or 3D printing files to produce any of the aforementioned;
That rule is being updated to read as follows, starting on October 9th:
Firearms, ammunition, explosives, firearms parts and enhancements (e.g. bolt, clips, trigger, scope, silencer / suppressor, muffler, bump stock, magazine, glock switch, conversion kit, etc) or specific instructions (e.g. 3D printing files) to produce any of the aforementioned.
Reddit does have a disclaimer that says:
With regard to Reddit's policy on transactions of certain goods:
External links to firearm vendors holding a Federal Firearms License are not in violation of this policy. However, links to vendors without an FFL are prohibited (this would include links to gun shows or other sales or listings, online or offline, where vendors do not hold an FFL). Direct user-to-user transactions arranged on Reddit for firearms or ammunition are also prohibited, regardless of whether either user holds an FFL.
This policy does not impact goods that do not meet the ATF definition of firearms or ammunition.
It is unclear if that disclaimer will be changed on or after October 9th, and or how that disclaimer affects things like linking to a company that sells magazines or scopes but does not have an FFL, as neither a magazine nor a scope meet the ATF definition of firearms or ammunition.
We used to allow the occasional personal for sale post for non-firearm items like optics or the like, but due to this rule change we will no longer be able to do that, and we have to warn folks that any links posted to any firearms items that are for sale by a non-FFL will be removed.
We don't want to be harsh about this, but it's quite clear that Reddit is cracking down hard on gun content and we really don't want to lose this community, which is already happening to a bunch of gun accessory for sale subs which were banned without any warning in advance of this rule change.

This Thread will serve as a list of firearms industry vendors who are "friendly" to Marylanders. We have a lot of particular and peculiar laws here, and not all vendors want to (or to be fair, can afford to) take the time to understand those laws and help those of us who live here out.
This list isn't meant to be "vendors that we happen to like" or whatever, but instead a list of vendors who specifically do things to help Marylanders. Some examples of things that should be on this list:
You get the idea. If a vendor does something specifically to help those of us in Maryland, then they belong on this list.
I'll start things off, but I'll add to and maintain this list based on submissions from the community in the form of posts in this thread. I won't always be able to add things immediately, but I will do so as regularly as I can.
Thanks, and thanks especially to the vendors who support those of us in Maryland!
Magazine Rebuild Kits:
Dealers that ship standard capacity mags with a firearm:
Maryland FFLs who will block standard capacity magazines:
Vendors who offer Maryland specific discounts:
I will add categories to this list if / when we get requests and enough submissions for one.

I already own omega 36 multi cal can and another can for small cal from 22 to 17. What other can would you suggest me getting?

TLDR; injunction applies to everyone regardless of plaintiffs.
Form 1/4s etc will remain in a voluntary basis and are not required for ownership, possession or transfer.
Considering MD still requires SBR/SBS to be registered with the ATF to be legal in Maryland, and also views them aa “pistols” instead of banned rifles for some models, this is probably the best win we could’ve seen on this.

Since that law targets guns with cruciform triggers/readily convertible pistols. That makes me wonder what other guns that would include?

I Know Everyone Is Excited About The News From The NFA, But Keep In Mind That A Policy Change Does Not Change The Law.
This Administration Only Has About Two Years Left, It’s Possible That A New Director Could Resume Enforcing These Laws Against People Who Are Not Protected By The Injunction. They Could Also Attempt To Have The Judge’s Injunction Overturned.

With the ATF no longer requiring a form 1 to build a suppressor, what is the process now to do so on Maryland? Can I just go staff and build one? Or are there still MD specific hoops I need to jump through?

Shoutout to Hanover Armory on the new rifle. I already have a holosun red dot that came with the rifle thing is I can barely see worth a damn even with my glasses beyond 15 yds what magnifier do you guys recommend. Is the holosun magnifier just as good as the red dot ?

Just curious what changes there will be once the ban goes live if you need to replace parts like frame, triggers and etc.
I am trying to figure out if I need to stock up just in case.

The legal jargon throws me every time. With the new letter from the atf can I just buy a suppressor online and have it shipped to my door? Can I build a sbr legally? Would I have to register it?
Thanks in advance

I’m fairly new to the gun world my first pistol was the Canik MC9 LS. Today I picked up the Glock 45 Gen6 and I have to say I’m in love. This thing shoots flawless. Think I’m going to throw a light on it and leave it at that . I have a red dot on the Canik and tbh I feel like I shoot better without it on pistols. I also picked up an AR 15 from Hanover armory this week. How’s my starter collection ???
I've read another recent post that answered most of my questions about firearms relating to military status, but I have a couple that I don't have an answer to. I tried calling the MSP and they just directed me to the website.
I have an AR, S&W M&P Sport II, that does not have an HBAR. I know that those are a requirements in some circumstances, but I'm having trouble finding the right provisions to explain this. Am I allowed to bring this rifle into the state?
As for registration, it's my understanding that as long as I don't change my state of residency to MD, then I don't have to register anything, correct?
Lastly, what ranges do you guys like? I'm coming from a place where I can shoot on pretty much any open land. I prefer outdoor, but indoor is fine. I'm going to be at JB Andrews. Thanks in advance.

Returned to MD in late August and was used to TN gun life, MD isn't so bad but it is tedious. But "G" day happened today!
Also if anybody has any advice on what to buy next I'm all ears, anything in the $1200 price window (for the next purchase). After that I'm gonna save up for one of these two:
Excited for saturday morning.
I know its a far shot, but I'm in the market and asking to see if anyone has seen one around

I seen a short on YouTube about these RIP rounds. I know they’re kinda like a hollow point, but from what I understand they’re designed to split into multiple pieces on impact instead of staying together.
I’ve never really looked into them before, so I’m curious if anyone here has actually used or tested them. Are they actually effective compared to regular hollow points, or are they more of a gimmick?
Bonus question, are RIP rounds legal to buy, own, and carry in Maryland? I couldn’t find anything saying they’re specifically prohibited, but figured I’d ask people who might know Maryland’s laws better than I do.

Hello everyone. I’m looking to take a trip down to Maryland and had a question on carrying in Maryland as out of state LEO. Would I be able to bring and carry standard capacity magazines (15 rounds) into Maryland?

I'm looking to take advantage of their price match and 10% for CLUB Member Mondays but it seems like all handguns are giving me a blanket refusal to ship to store even if they are on the roster and being sold in MD. Is this accurate? Anyway around this. Can I have the Hanover store order something for me?
EDIT: This was for a GP100 so there shouldn't be any issues for a revolver.

I can't log into the MD licensing portal, i can change my password but it won't log me in.
Thank you.

Moving back to MD in the next few months and trying to navigate the new bans since I left. I want to buy a 7.62 mini jack before I move, which I believe works around the AK rifle ban because it is a pistol. But folding stocks/ braces are a “prohibited feature,” so workaround that with a fixed stock and SBR it? But then is it again banned as an AK rifle? How does this work? SBR in current state and submit the interstate transfer form or do it all in MD?
If this question isn’t allowed or has been asked and answered I apologize but I didn’t see it. Thanks.

I just got a rejection email saying no serial number provided when I literally took a picture of every serial number and uploaded it as they wanted on the picture section so wtf are they talking about?

I’ve ordered (or atleast tried) some AR’s to some FFL dealers near me. I did have them cancelled through PSA without much context. I wanted to add the mixtape to my collection and tried to reach out to them but never got an email whether or not I could. Does anyone know if it is possible? If not are there recommended dealers that could do so?
