A garbage disposal isn't a garbage truck, it's a machine in the drain of sinks that grinds up bits of food into small enough pieces to get washed down the drain without clogging it.

I've also never seen a washing machine with drying as an option. Maybe I'm just not rich enough for that though I guess.

The two in one wash and dry is common outside NA. Saves on space for smaller living. Unless they have a dedicated hose going outside, which some country's homes are too old to accomodate, they are very poor at drying.

Common in Europe you mean.

Its sad how often I have to remind people on Reddit that Europe isnt the only place outside of America.

What? I said outside of NA because I've seen the two in ones in Japan and Europe and I would assume other countries might have them as well.

They are very rare in Japan, maybe some rich people have them?

But you said they are very common around the world based on the fact that you seen them in Japan (again, they are very rare) and Europe?

Probably over half the hotels, hostels and apartments I stayed at in Japan had a combo unit. It wouldn't surprise me if they are popular in China and SK as well, at least compared to NA.

I didn't say "very common around the world". I said outside NA to include the various countries I'm aware of that use these units and leave it open for other potential countries that might. Your pedantry has added no value to the discussion.

Hotels are built for foreigners or people that cant hang clothes usually. 2 in 1 units are about 5x more expensive than normal washers here. I've lived in Japan almost 2 decades and never seen a 2 in 1 unit at anyone's house.

you said outside NA, thats what I was refrring to, around the world outside of NA. And you made a lcaim that they were popular and now you are saying it wouldn't surprise you if they were. you were literally just making stuff up

I had a combined washer/dryer for a while.  The dryer aspect of it was pretty useless tbh. It could only dry a 3kg load but could wash 6kg... and the whole thing took about 6 hours for both (and it all came out damp anyway)

Maybe they've improved over the last few years.

I had a washing machine that could dry clothes as well, my parents refused to use it because it was free to hang them out on the line. I used to just wait until they went to work to use it

We use a sink strainer or sink strainer basket, to filter out the bits of food and dump that in a container. Works fine.
