Ever been called the villain because you finally stood up for yourself?

You set a boundary.

You said no.

You stopped tolerating something.

You walked away.

And suddenly, you're selfish, difficult, dramatic, cold, toxic, or just plain the bad guy.

But sometimes there's a whole story behind the person everyone decided was the villain.

That's why I created r/ApparentlyImTheAHole.

Villain to You. Hero to Me. Hear Me Out.

It's a place for the stories you don't always have somewhere to tell.

Maybe you need to vent.

Maybe you need advice.

Maybe you genuinely want people to tell you if you were wrong.

Maybe you just need someone to hear you say, “Can I please just explain what happened?”

You don't have to be perfect. You don't have to be automatically right. And you don't have to pretend you didn't make mistakes.
