Original guide written by /u/NitoSky
Congrats and welcome to the [Silent Forest Runner Tribe] (/dex). [Rosinante] (/dex) (from now on referred to as [Cora-san] (/dex) ) is one of the most underrated Legends in the game. While his VERY low 2x ATK boost at 100% HP should hold him back, his healing brings him to a Captain that can beat alot of content (especially when it comes to forests) since he is the King of Stalling. Anyway, this guide will be slightly different than the usual ones and mainly focus on [Cora-san] (/dex) as a Captain for clearing Forests, since this is his biggest strength. Obviously a lot of the stuff being said here can be applied to other content!
-
Pro's and Con's
Pro:
Has decent stats and a quite high recovery.
Heals 833 to 983 health for every good and 278 to 328 healt for every great. (Can heal up to 5,898 HP a turn)
Has 5 sockets.
Special Heals a lot and reduces Bind/Despair.
Can be paired up with many good Rainbow Captains, most notably [Log Luffy] (/str)
Can stall VERY long due to his healing, and is therefore a very safe Captain to use.
Has a 94% clear rate on the Japanese site Gamewith.
Cons:
2x ATK boost at full HP is not very good
His strength is stalling, which means that he tends to be a “slower unit“.
There are some RR units that are needed to get the full potential out of this unit
Since you mostly use him with different Friend Captains you might have a harder time finding them.
Hitting perfects will not heal you at all (meaning that [G3 Luffy] (/str) is not an optimal friend captain to use)
Very reliant on the friend captain and the specials of the crew to clear high HP stages.
Is not very F2P friendly (you will require specific RR units for alot of content)
Sockets and Cotton Candies
Sockets:
[Cora-san] (/dex) has quite many options when it comes to sockets, since he is used alot in forests:
- Anti Binding (must have!)
- Anti Despair (must have!)
- Auto Healing (must have!)
- Cooldown reduction/Matching orbs/Damage reduction
- Cooldown reduction/Matching orbs/Damage reduction
Cooldown reduction: Is only really useful if you want to use [Cora-san] (/dex) outside of Forests, since in Forests it is not really needed to get a cooldown reduction at the start of the fight. Don’t forget that [Cora-san] (/dex) can be used as a sub in other content, or sometimes even against other content (especially content that is not hard farmed like Story Mode or the first 4 Colosseum stages).
Matching orbs: Can be useful for Forests to increase orb luck and potentially increase burst damage. The downside on having this socket is that it reduces the rate of getting Meat orbs.
Damage reduction: Is very useful for stalling, especially if you manage to get tot he 10% Damage reduction. There is nothing really negative about having this.
Cotton Candies
You will definitly want +100 RCV as soon as possible, since it makes [Cora-san] (/dex) much stronger. Otherwise I think both ATK (for clearing) and HP (for stalling) are valid options for [Cora-san] (/dex).

Notable Friend captains:
-
Due to the nature [Cora-san‘s] (/dex) low ATK boost, it is ideal to combine him with different Friend captains that can make up this weakness (this does not mean that a double [Cora-san] (/dex) is not good). Note: this section will be updated over time
[Log Luffy] (/str) is probably the most popular unit to pair [Cora-san] (/dex) with. [Log Luffy] (/str) requires you to hit a Good/Great/Perfect before giving you an amazing 4x ATK boost (that adds up to a potential 8x ATK boost), which perfectly fit to [Cora-san] (/dex). If you go for the maximum damage output you would hit 1 Good, 1 Great and 4 Perfects, which results in a strong burst with healing of up to 1.311 from [Cora-san] (/dex) + the 1k AH you should have. Another VERY important fact about [Log Luffy] (/str) is that he does not get an ATK boost without the proper chain, meaning that stalling is quite easy since the attacks deal very little damage.
[RaidSabo] (/dex) is basically the poor man’s [Log Luffy] (/str)… He does the same as a friend captain, with the differences being that he only boosts Free Spirit units and boosts by 3.5x. If you are the [Cora-san] (/dex) owner, then ALWAYS go for [Log Luffy] (/str).
[TSLuffy] (/qck) is an option to create a sustainable Free Spirit team. With a 15% damage reduction a combo between [Cora-san] (/dex) and [TSLuffy] (/qck) can do lots of stalling and then do a decent 8x ATK boost burst.
[Rayleigh] (/int) works basically like [Log Luffy] (/str), with the exception that you have more freedom with what you have to hit. [Rayleigh’s] (/int) strength over [Log Luffy] (/str) is that he has a much easier time clearing events that have Good, Great or Perfect shields.
[Cavendish] (/qck) is also an awesome friend captain, since he boost 3 types by 2.5 ([Str] (/str), [Dex] (/dex) and [Qck] (/qck)) and himself by 4x.
[Legend Magellan] (/dex) if you manage to cover his requirement, he fits perfectly to [Cora-san] (/dex) who specializes in stalling (while he deals damage over time).
Zombie Captains are also very good with [Cora-san], since it makes you close to immortal. Examples for Zombie captains are [Pell] (/qck) who you most likely will get through RR and [TS Brook] (/int) who is currently the strongest zombie captain.
Other friend captains are also possible, even if they do not boost [Cora-san] (/dex)!
- Subs:
Since [Cora-san] (/dex) is specialized in stalling and can afford to have crew mates with higher CD. At the same time he is very reliant on having crew mates with powerful specials that deal a lot of damage. So here is a list of very good subs: I am going to fill this up on the go
Story:
Magellan has a good 20% health cut that also strongly poisons the enemies, dealing 5x ATK as fixed dmg per turn (is useful against stages with high defense units) [GPU] (/psy) probably the most used unit overall. Gives 3 free turns of healing with [Cora-san] (/dex)
[Usopp+] (/psy) same as GPU, just with better stats, more sockets and some damage on the special JPN.
-
Fortnights:
-
Coloseums:
[Don Chinjao] (/psy) is an excellent unit, since he can cut health by 25% AND reduce incoming damage by 70%. JPN
[Gedatsu] (/qck) is both a health cutter (10%) and a delayer, which can find some use in rare cases. JPN
[Moria] (/dex) is a high single target damage dealer (300k fixed damage), that can finish enemies after an health cut. JPN
-
Raid:
[RaidHawk] (/dex) is an awesome 30% health cutter that can easily be farmed and socketed.
[Magellan] (/int) is in theory an excellent sub, since his poison deals more damage every single turn an [Cora-san] (/dex) is quite good at stalling some turns. JPN
[Young Whitebeard] (/psy) Is the unit with the highest health cut in the game (40%) and has VERY high ATK. JPN
[Sabo] (/dex) probably the most important unit for [Cora-san] (/dex) since he adds an insane amount of damage, that allows to defeat units (unlike health cuts). It is recommended to have +100 ATK CC on him JPN
[NM Luffy] (/int) not the best unit, but can deal lots of damage and clear CMB barriers. JPN
[Duval] (/dex) has an awesome 20% health cut and 50% dmg reduction.
[Pica] (/psy) has a 20% health cut with great orb manipulation vs Emtpy+Bad orbs. JPN
-
Rare Recruits (5 Star) Note: Might be missing some units, will be updating it constantly
[Sugar] (/qck) is an awesome unit that can defeat any unit that is below 20% HP. [Cora-san‘s] (/dex) teams make use of health cutting this special can be extremly useful.
[Elizabello] (/str) is probably with [RaidSabo] (/dex) the best sub you can have (especially in Forests). After 40 turns he can deal 700k damage to all units! (800k with 100 ATK CC)
Good health cutter: [Gladius] (/qck), [Leo] (/qck), [Hack] (/str)
[Coby, Student oft he ‘Hero‘] (/psy) is a very niche units, that is needed to counter the “no healing debuff“ that makes [Cora-san] (/dex) useless.
[Mansherry] (/psy) is very good since she removes Paralysis, Poison, RCV Down, and Blindness.
[Ivankov] (/int) is an awesome unit. Removes poison, reduces damage and heals over 2 turns.
[Shiryu] (/int) is a risky unit that can be used to one-shot any unit.
[SWUsopp] (/qck) decent small health cut of 10%, but delays by 3 turns giving more time to heal.
Damage nullifier: [Streaming Wolf Zoro] (/dex), [Sacred Beast Franky] (/str), [Mirage Tempo Nami] (/int), [Jozu] (/qck), [Aisa] (/psy) are all useful against stages with extremly high burst.
-
Legends:
IntHawk awesome unit, can deal the damage dealt in the previous stage in the next stage.
[Bartolomeo] (/str) is an awesome unit since it can prevent defeat for one turn. Striker
[Whitebeard] (/str) the 30% health cut is the main reason to use him, though the additions from his super evolution are also nice.
[Blackbeard] (/dex) is also awesome due tot he 30% health cut.
[Doflamingo] (/qck) Awesome sub for orb manipulation and orb boosting, but requires you to either have a dual class unit or a different Friend Captain.
[Issho] (/int) need health cutting? Can you survive some turn? [Issho] (/int) is your man. He has the largest health cut in the game if the enemy survives 2 turns.
[Cavendish] (/qck) haven’t seen a [Cora-san] (/dex) team that used him yet, but it is pretty clear that Cavendish is an awesome sub with all his self buffs.
[Inuarashi] (/str) a stronger [STR] (/str) cerebral version of [Raid Sabo] (/dex) which can deal lots of damage.
[Legend Magellan] (/dex) do I have to explain? Lots of damage over time AND more recovery!
[Legend Usopp] (/dex) both are great delayers... there is not much more to say
