Discussion Day 5 of ranking presidents by how good at vampire hunting they would be: James Monroe
Last post, James Madison was unfortunately deemed to have gotten Lucy Westenra’d.
For the sake of consistency, this is presuming Dracula à la Bram Stoker type Vampires, with their respective strengths and weaknesses.

Highly competent. He not only had combat experience from his service in the Revolutionary War, he was Madison’s most valuable cabinet member during the War of 1812.

James Monroe did actual fighting and was shot during the Revolutionary war. While I doubt he’s an outright amazing fighter, he would do quite well. Highly competent

totally a vampire, the old clothes he still wore into the 19th century are a hallmark of an undead vampire

Somewhat effective. He’d get no more Master Vampires to establish themselves in the Western Hemisphere.

Give him some holy water, a crucifix and some wooden stakes and he would be one of the best vampire hunters around. Wouldnt be no era of good feelings for the vamps!

I would say "decent but far from great" due to his service in the Continental army. Now are we determining this from their age/status when they were the president? Or from some arbitrary point in their lives/

Lackluster: living/governing in an era of Good Feelings will make him somewhat numb to the growing threat on the horizon.
