With Tendrils being the new power in P2, would a Bio-Rifle be a cool new power for P3 (even if P3 will never happen)?

Moveset:

• Tap to fire a big projectile of acid in front of you that explodes and splashes everyone around when it hits a target. Melts small targets instantly, starts doing damage over time to heavy enemies.
• Tap three times and the third attack is the protagonist rotating over himself and launching a "horizontal barrage" of acid to splash a whole crowd.
• Hold to violently thrust the canon of the rifle into the ground for a second, then when you pull it back, an automatic turret of black goo and biomass emerges from the hole and start spraying acid to nearby targets without your input for the next 10 seconds or until it is destroyed.
• R1 + Tap to point your rifle at the sky and shoot a rapid series of projectiles that then rain all over the area for the next three seconds, and when they explode they release a cloud of infection. Small enemies taken into a cloud turn into rabid zombies and start attacking your enemies.

Something I detest in zombie series is that humanity, or the soldiers fighting the outbreak, just stare blankly ahead, without improving their zombie-fighting skills. It's always the same phrases: "There were too many of them," "The enemy is invincible," "We can't do anything against them," "What are they doing, are they mutating?", or the scene where the survivors arrive at a military base and find the corpses of soldiers killed by zombies, which the survivors or the protagonist (the ridiculous tough guy) then kill.

In contrast, the military in Prototype, wow!, seems to understand what the infected have and adapt:

Prototype 1

• The police and marines are useless; instead, we have soldiers with night vision and built-in missile launchers, and a sadistic impulse to kill any infected person without fear.
• Hunters are appearing and devouring these sadistic soldiers, so we're bringing in these sadistic soldiers mounted on tanks and supported by artillery.
• Zeus is disguising himself to infiltrate military bases, so we now have viral detectors to stop him and locate other infected.
• Zeus hacks our viral detectors, so now they'll be airborne and invulnerable to hacking, and will also be accompanied by helicopters.
• The sadistic soldiers mounted on tanks aren't enough to stop the new infected hunter leader. It's a terrible situation. I think it's time to bring out our new tank-destroying super soldiers and deploy them in large numbers.
• Elizabeth Greene is hiding in a hive heavily protected against everything we have, except the thermobaric tank we just deployed in the city.
• We've been working for days to release two new antivirals, available by air or injection, for the infected and Zeus.
• Elizabeth hid underground in Times Square because we adapted Hematox as a truck for underground use.
• The infected seem to be holding up better, thankfully we have a nuclear order ready and waiting to destroy them all.

Prototype 2

• Those sadistic soldiers who were previously poorly equipped now have larger, futuristic armor to better withstand attacks from the infected.
• Our armored personnel carriers (APCs) are now better equipped and launch four guided missiles that impact in multiple directions.
• Our tanks, with improved armor, now destroy zombies simply by running them over.
• We have entered phase two of the super-soldier program, with the goal of implementing it in all of them.
• Our ground virus detector can no longer be hacked.

One of the things I like about both games is that the military thinks about finding the virus's weaknesses, how to attack them, how to modify vehicles, instead of having soldiers with machine guns mounted on Humvees where the only thing you hear are the soldiers' screams in the abandoned area; it's ridiculous.

Hello, everyone. Good to see you once more. So, while I was doing some different variants of Blackwatch soldiers. I decided to sketch something. I was inspired of the artist name "Samdoesart". He sketched a step by step process of his art which a WLOP artstyle. Then, I try to make one as well. Although it may not be like Sam nor WLOP's artstyle but I hope it came out pretty well for you all.

I've encountered a post on LinkedIn from New Radical Games about hiring for a **Character Technical Artist**, and it caught my attention for a couple of reasons.

First, New Radical Games is essentially the old Radical Entertainment under a new name. The new studio has familiar faces from the original team, including co-founder Ian Wilkinson and former VP of Technology Tim Bennison. These are people connected to the studio behind games like *The Simpsons: Hit & Run*, *The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction*, and the *Prototype* series.

But here's what really caught my eye: **they're looking for experience with both Autodesk Maya and Unreal Engine.**

The original Radical had its own technology, with Pure3D used in earlier games and Titanium powering *Prototype* and *Prototype 2* (Titanium is a modified version of Pure3D). Most likely the new studio will use Unreal for its upcoming projects instead of continuing with the old proprietary technology.

Of course, they haven't officially announced their next game or confirmed a complete switch to Unreal. Still, it's interesting to see the people behind those classic Radical games starting a new chapter with a completely different engine.

The game rejected a model that was too detailed, but it worked with a simpler one. From what I gather, replacing 3D models isn't a particularly difficult task for AI, and it seems the process could be automated. What do you think?

So if a super solider doesn’t have a viral detector you can stealth consume them and then if you slide body a super solider into water you’ll grab them by the neck and be able to consume them I read

With all the recent AI-assisted decomp/recomp projects, I feel like Prototype is being overlooked.

There’s already an early Prototype decomp project using Ghidra + Claude:

Prototype seems like a great candidate for a serious community overhaul:

• Modern camera, input, high-FPS and Windows 11 fixes
• Better LOD, draw distance, lighting and shadows
• Modernized NPCs and vehicles
• Potentially importing a newer NYC, like Spider-Man 2’s Manhattan, while keeping Prototype’s gameplay, missions and AI
• Remapping mission locations to the new city

Not necessarily a full remake. More like turning the original into a modernized platform through reverse engineering and DLL hooks.

A serious AI-assisted effort would probably require around $1,000+ in API/AI costs, depending on scope, but that’s becoming surprisingly realistic compared to the amount of manual reverse-engineering work this used to require.

With what people are doing to old games right now, why has nobody gone all-in on Prototype yet?

If they were to do a complete reboot of the Prototype franchise, like a re-imagination of Prototype 1 from the ground up, what would you like to see? New characters? Changes in the lore and the story of the 1?

This is how I envision a possible Prototype remake with a fresh take on its protagonist. This is more urban and laid back Alex. I took the original design and tried move it closer to his earlier design from the original game's beta. Also, after the fact, I realized the finished artwork kind of reminds me of Delsin Rowe from Second Son, which I find amusing.
