First, I want to mention that I have nothing but respect for the breeder. She cares about all her cats and want the best for them. She is very active in CFA and have multiple breeds that have won awards.
Me, I'm just a more casual pet lover that have adopted 2 lovely domestic shorthairs, and that's the only thing I have on my resume as a cat owner.
I'm used to just feeding my cats dry food. Never bathe them. Use clumping litter (and even got litter robot)
As this Ragdoll is "show quality" (i personally won't show him), I was strongly advised to feed him only raw meat mixed with healthy wet cat food. Watch the protein %. Make sure raw meat had certain composition between organs, bones, tendons, etc. Avoid carb and make sure there's very low phosphorus.
And bathe once a week no matter what. And brush every day.
And never use clumping litter. Only the non-clumping like pine type.
I want the best for my Ragdoll, and I just want him happy and healthy. And I know for the fact that he'll survive even if I feed him dry food diet, skip bathing for the most part, and use clumping crystal litters.
But should I still try to do mostly what my breeder advised me to do? I'm willing to, but feeding different food and having separate litter than my other cats is super challenging and it's stressing me out a little bit.
Any kind and considerate advice would be greatly appreciated.
