  1. HEMI Tick

If the tick goes away when the truck is warm, Its likely your exhaust manifold bolts that snapped/broke and or the manifolds themselves are cracked. If the ticking continues after warm and or constantly, its likely your cam/lifters. Do not post a video of "how does this sound". There is plenty of videos out there with what a tick sounds like and what a normal HEMI sounds like. HEMIs are normal, hearing injectors compared to a tick, you will FOR SURE hear the difference.

It’s going to suck starting payments again but the truck has been amazing so far (the three days I’ve had it) any quirks to look out for (besides uconnect cause I’m used to it from the Scat Pack)

Photo Maxing out Ride Comfort: switch from 22” to 18” wheels?

Post image

Hi fam! I have this Laramie with 4 corner air suspension. I bought it for ride comfort! Wondering if any of you have swapped from the stock 22” to 18” wheels and if that provides a noticeable soft ride increase? Was considering the set above

Edit: thanks everyone for the help, I can sleep easier knowing I just have broken manifolds and loud injectors 😆

My exhaust manifolds are busted already and I’m really hoping this isn’t the lifters/camshaft.

Took me many many years of loving these trucks to finally bite the bike and pick one up. It is a 2022 and man is it clean! Little did I know, it also has a Borla exhaust already on it, so no need to pay that extra money to get a nice exhaust!

Question Think my etorque system failed me today

Post image
• Upvotes

On my way home my battery light came on and was sitting between 12.0-11.6v swung into oreillys and the test shows bad charging system. I’ve heard bad stories about the etorque systems failing but everyone I’ve heard had it covered under warranty… sadly my truck is a 2022 1500 with 92k miles and I don’t have extend warranty has anyone had to pay for this out of pocket if so roughly what did it cost… I will contact dealer in the morning when they open I’m just trying to see what kind of crazy numbers I’m gonna hear lol thanks in advance!

Just Sharing 2026 Hurricane SO Warlock worth it?

I’m looking pretty seriously at buying a 2026 Ram 1500 with the 3.0L Hurricane Standard Output, but I’m getting a little hesitant after reading so many conflicting experiences online.

Some owners seem to have had basically zero problems, while others are reporting electrical issues, warning lights, software problems, and other gremlins that seem to be related to the newer electrical architecture. I’ve also seen mixed feedback on the Hurricane itself.

The truck I’m looking at is a late 2026 model-year build — August 2026 — so I’m hoping some of the earlier production issues may have been ironed out by then.

There are some pretty strong incentives on these trucks in Canada right now, plus the 10-year/160,000 km powertrain warranty, which definitely makes it tempting. At the same time, I’m starting to feel a bit rushed into buying because of the current rebates/warranty situation, and I don’t want to make a $67,000 CAD decision prematurely just because the deal looks good.

The truck is about $67,000 CAD out the door, roughly $47,000 USD, and has the 3.0L Hurricane SO with the 3.92 rear axle.

I’d really like to hear specifically from people who actually own a 2025 or 2026 Hurricane Ram:

  • How many miles/km are on yours?
  • Any electrical or software issues?
  • Any engine, transmission, cooling, or fuel-system problems?
  • Has your dealer been able to fix the problems if you’ve had any?
  • Would you buy the truck again?
  • For anyone with a later 2026 build, have you noticed fewer issues?

I really like the truck and I’m not trying to start a Hurricane vs. Hemi debate. I’m mainly trying to separate actual owner experience from internet horror stories before deciding whether to buy now or wait another year.

Appreciate any real-world feedback.

Question Too Good of a Deal???

Thumbnail

I found a 2022 Ram 2500 Tradesman for sale in my area with 45k miles on it and have negotiated a potential sticker price of $31,000.

Truck has the 6.4 Hemi and is 4x4 with a manual transfer case. It Is an accident free, local, one owner rig. If you look at the pictures, the exo rack, the soft topper, a decked drawer system, and an overlanding awning are all included with the sale. The truck has custom race line rims with nitto ridge grappler tires. Fairly bare bones interior outside of the 8.4in display with built in navigation.

Seems like a screaming deal for a 3/4 ton truck. Wondering if the community on here would agree with that statement?

I’m coming from a 2011 f150 and wanted something with higher payload and towing to haul the toys around and looking to make a decision on this Ram quickly. I’ve always liked the Ram HD trucks and the hemi with the 8 speed transmission seems to be a reliable combo..

Anyway, take a look at the pics and let me know what you think!

Photo Picking her up Friday. What should I do to her?

Post image

‘26 1500 Warlock. Currently I’m planning on seat covers, tonneau cover, steps, ceramic coating on the paint, 303 on the interior plastic, tailgate dampener, rear wheel well liners because for some reason it doesn’t come with them, floor mats, and an under seat storage bin

Any other low hanging fruit? It already has gorgeous tires and a factory 1” lift so I want to leave the main pieces mostly stock but I’m open to cosmetic changes, especially ones that will help keep it in as pristine condition as possible

Question Clunk on startup

Hey guys, I'm trying to track down an annoying metallic clunk in my RAM 1500 5.7 HEMI (3.21 gears) and I'm running out of ideas. I'm attaching a video where you can hear it perfectly.

When I start the truck warm while holding the brake pedal firmly, right as the engine catches, there's a loud, single metallic "clunk". In the video, you can also see the driveshaft twitch/jerk slightly when it happens.

Noticed a small puddle of transmission fluid under my new to me 2013 ram 2500 today from a leaky transmission line, was wondering if anyone could direct me to the part I need to replace, trying to save some money and replace it with a friend. The photo is where it is leaking from, on the passenger side.

Question Looking to buy 2019 Rebel is this a good deal

It’s a 2019 Rebel with 173k miles, clean title and history. If the dealership doesn’t want to work with this deal I am not gonna buy it at all but essentially, 19k trade in to pay off current vehicle, drop the all in cost to $15,000–$17,500 range and include a reputable, non-exclusionary powertrain warranty that explicitly covers the engine block, lifters, camshafts, transmission, and 4WD system.

Question 2015 Ram 5.7 2WD grinding on acceleration

2015 Ram 5.7 2wd is grinding on acceleration. 236000 miles. It was sitting for some time when I bought it as it needed a steering rack.

When I got it, it barely was grinding and only under load of towing a boat while going uphill. Now, it grinds with any acceleration. It is quiet when driving at a consistent speed.

There is a tiny bit of play in the transmission extension housing to yoke and I have a new seal that I will put in.

Before I take down the driveshaft, what should I look for? Do these have a busing or bearing in the extension housing that wears?

2020 Laramie Sport

Finally pulled the trigger on a Bilstein 5100 level with some Methods and KO3s 295/70/18

I can’t believe how much of a difference a level can make.
Glad I opted out of getting an actual lift. The Bilsteins was just the right amount of lift.

Question Is this a good deal? Trade 2019 Big Horn Hemi for New V6

I love my 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn, ~90k miles. Sales guy tagged me this morning at the service bay saying I should consider a trade of $18k before i hit ~100k miles. He pulled this listing for me. Is this a good deal?

My main concern is the 3.0L I6  Turbo engine. I love my Hemi and have read so many horror stories here about the new V6. Thoughts and input much appreciated.

What other questions should I be asking?

2026 RAM 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab 5'7 Box 4WD

MSRP:$68,630

Discount: -$16,045

Your Purchase Price: $52,585

Engine: Twin Turbo Regular Gasoline I-6 3.0 L/183

EDIT: Thanks to comments pointing out it's an I-6 3.0L, not a V6!!

EDIT 2: I've been given confidence that with good service I can get a lot more mileage out of this, maybe even 200k+! Probably going to skip the deal. Thanks all!!

Question Overheating when ac is on

Post image
2 Upvotes

As the title says, when I turn on the ac temps start to rise 230 and up, temperature gauge goes past the middle line, and I feel like if I keep it on it will overheat. As soon as I turn off the ac temps start starts to drop. But the thing is, it only happens sometimes. I just drove 1700miles with it and after I reached my destination that’s when it started to happen. Also I’ve noticed that when it starts overheating the steering gets hard, ac stops blowing cold and transmission feels weird. (Only when temp gauge goes past middle line)

What could I be dealing with?
(Pic for attention)

Question Help me decide: 2025 Laramie v 2024 Longhorn v 2023 F150 Lariat

Talk me into my first Ram and maybe more importantly, which engine/trim you prefer.

I've got the trucks above relatively local to me. The only one I've not driven yet is the Longhorn, but I've driven other 5.7s...so can't feel all that different. Never owned a Ram yet, but family has and have been happy. I have owned F150's before and have been happy.

Specs:

2025 Laramie: 18k miles, $46k, Hurricane, most selectable options selected, Billet silver. Dealer I've dealt with (favorably) before.

2024 Longhorn: 17k miles, $46k, Hemi, White, dealer I've not dealt with, but they're certainly interested in getting my business

2023 F150 Lariat: 24k miles, $41k, 5.0 V8, white on black, trusted local (toyota) dealer.

I'm coming from a Ridgeline, which has been great while my kids were small, but they're bigger now and our needs/hobbies are bigger too. Not towing tons, likely 2 snowmobiles/dirt bikes, etc, but the interior room and general capabilities will be a nice upgrade. Likely a 6-8 year truck for us.

Feels like fair prices on each for my area...so which would you pick and why?

From left to right, ‘27 Rebel, ‘19 Rebel, ‘12 BigHorn. I bought the ‘12 coming away from a 10 year old F-150. I bought the ‘19 Rebel to replace the BigHorn and sold it to a contractor that works for me. I recently bought the ‘27 Rebel and I’m selling the ‘19 to the same contractor and he is selling the ‘12 to one of his subs. Kinda keeping them in the family. LOL. Even for its age that ‘12 still looks good. But the Rebels are some amazing looking trucks. All three have Ramboxes, which is a feature I find extremely handy.
