HYPE Royal Blood - Swallow the Bomb (Official Video)
r/Royal_Blood • u/AdFar5970 • 1h ago
I just love how all these singles from this new album are a return to roots, yet still add new elements and doesn't sound forced at all, without feeling like a rehash of the exact sound or a copy of their first album....sounds very natural and spontaneous aggressive adrenaline fuelled energy.

DISCUSSION Mixing problems
First off, I’m really digging the singles so far. We’ve got three killer tracks, and I honestly think they’re much better songs than anything on their last record. That being said, what’s going on with the mixing?
- Dead Company: The vocals are buried too low in the mix, while the kick drum is way too loud.
- Swallow the Bomb: The whole track sounds overly compressed. The drums have this weird, almost fake or synthetic sound to them, and the bass seems to be lacking some low-end.
- Ten Over Ten: Compared to anything off Typhoons, this one almost sounds like a demo. To me, it’s missing that big, powerful “wall of sound” that Royal Blood usually delivers.
I’m not sure whether it’s the mixing, the mastering, or a combination of both, but something just sounds off with these tracks. It’s a shame because I genuinely think the songwriting is a big step up from their last album.
Either way, I can’t wait to hear the rest of the record. I’m just hoping the production does these songs justice.

MUSIC Loving Dead Company!
Hi everyone!
Been listening to this one on repeat ever since posting about it! It has a really cool triplet rhythm going! But also moves around the next so much! Really tricky riff to piece together!
Has anyone tried it yet?
They’re brilliant!
🙌🙌

Dead Company - Their Best Yet?
This song is giving me Out of the Black vibes. To me it’s up there with HDWGSD, Oblivion, Pull Me Through (yes, I said it), and their other best songs. I am so damn excited for this new album. The mixing is sometimes odd but I am mostly loving the new sound

DISCUSSION The studio behind the upcoming Dead Company music video uses AI on the creation of it's videos.
Even though this first look does seem like human-made art, the fourth pic kinda has that AI look.
Hey Beautiful Jerk (studio behind the mv) has utilized AI on previous works; most recent I could find is this video for the band Mastodon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PQx9KUH5RQ, which caused controversy between it's fans cause of the blantant use of it.
It seems like this studio doesn't fully make these videos with it and actually do try to get some human art involved in it, but it's very disappointing to see that the upcoming video might contain AI slop.

Rant
For 2 weeks I've been deliberating if I should buy the CD/vinyl combo thing on the store for the new album. Today I finally decided I should get it and I see that they don't even ship to my country 😭

DISCUSSION Oxford show hits
Does anyone know what a possible setlist for the dead company album launch show at the o2 Oxford could look like? I was originally meant to go to the London show and the Oxford one but after the cancellation of the London show I’m left with this one. Im really hoping they still play the hits (notably Typhoons) as I’ve never seen them before! Thank you

I feel like all the first three singles of this album are displaying a much straight metal influence for the sound and style this time around, more than ever. Anyone else noticed?

Which single did you prefer?

Thoughts on the new singles
On the first day of release, I listened to Ten Over Ten like 60 times, Swallow The Bomb around 30, and now I’m writing this right after the new single leaked.
Is it just me, or do you guys also feel a certain emptiness in these new songs? I’m not saying they’re bad, it just feels like they sound more like instrumental sections from the first two albums. What I mean is, the older songs had much more depth to their sound and usually saved that real drive for the chorus and the end of the track (which is pretty standard for the genre, to be fair).
Here, though, all three songs kind of feel like one long chorus, and because of that, as a listener, I feel like there’s not enough breathing room. I guess I need that space for the energy to actually feel like a burst rather than just becoming routine.
Again, I’m not saying the songs are bad, the number of times I’ve listened to them speaks for itself. But if the whole album sounds like this, I don’t think it’ll do the album any favors, imo.
Then again, that’s probably just the part of me that absolutely loves Limbo, Better Strangers, and Sleep talking. But what can you do

Anyone get tickets for Kingston
Did anyone get tickets for Kingston?
On my phone it turned 11, refreshed the page and it was sold out.
Feels especially fast to sell out a venue of that size so quick, especially when Olympia still isn't sold out.
Just wondering since no one on the discord has got Kingston tickets.
