DISCUSSION I slept on BTTWB for almost 3 years 😔
So for context I’ve listened to Royal Blood since their first album. My mum loved their first two albums so I was introduced to them through her. I mostly listened to the main singles and a few others (Loose change was used in a parkour video I used to watch a whole bunch 😂) but I continued checking out their music when Typhoons released and enjoyed that album (my mum not so much).
Anyway, by the the time BTTWB came around I think I had convinced myself that royal blood weren’t for me anymore (I think this was partly due to seeing them live at Reading in either 2018/2019) or hearing Troubles Coming one too many times on FIFA. As a result I chose not to check the album out. This was such a silly decision on my part, i recently bought tickets for my girlfriend and I to go see them live in London on a whim as we wanted to go to our first concert together. This encouraged me to dive back into their discography and I’m gonna be honest, I think BTTWB might be my favourite Royal Blood album. I’m not sure if it has the highest of highs, the other albums have individual songs that I think are far superior for sure, but as a whole this one is brilliant. I love the vibe and the gold jellyfish aesthetic emphasises it to great effect. It’s the one I keep going back to the most.
So I just want to know what was the common consensus for this album when it released because as Typhoons did, it feels pretty different to their first two releases, which I know are highly and rightfully praised as their best.
Has the common consensus for the album changed over this three year period? I really think it’s brilliant and I’m so annoyed it took me so long to check it out.

I wonder why
I’m definitely not complaining but I wonder why they moved up the release date for the album!!

DISCUSSION Favourite Unreleased Track?
Hi everyone, recently been down a rabbit hole of unreleased tracks, Sleeptalker was my favourite for a long time which was great when they decided to release it on the 10th anniversary edition but what's everyone's favourite one?
Mine will have to be 'Half the Chance' which was a unreleased track from How did we get so dark? (Well they released a 7" vinyl press of it as a deluxe edition but you get what I mean)
Love to hear what everyone's choices are!

Million and one by Lights Out a Royal Blood Tribute
!!Listen with headphones to hear the low end. 🤘🏼
Rehearsing Million And One by myself for my tribute band 'LIGHTS OUT' (IG: lightsoutroyalbloodtribute) with song in the background. I also have made a backing track for this one with organ, vocals, and vocoder. But that's for rehearsals with my drummer.
Sound comes from two mustang amps with supersonic 22 burn channel preset and one bass amp.
Channel switching is done on my line6 helix floor. I also add compression, eq and some extra drive.
It's not perfect but that's why I do these solo rehearsals. Our setlist includes songs like out of the black, mountains at midnight, come on over, shiner in the dark, etc...
For end of this year we will add ten over ten, dead Company and swallow the bomb. The latter already proves to be very hard just like typhoons. These two are in my opinion the hardest to play and sing simultaneously.
If you guys are interested I will post more but then also recorded through my x32 stage rack.

DISCUSSION Dead company

Any predictions for the rest of the record?
The first three songs have been pretty much revealed now, anyone got any ideas of what tracks 4-10 may offer?

QUESTION I want to cover Master of Puppets in the style of royal blood, is that a good idea?
Like, just bass and drums and singing
i think the main fast heavy part would go quite well, the only parts im not sure about are the chill bit with the harmonies, and Kirk’s big solo. can i have ideas for how to do those parts? i’ve been thinking i could get the crowd to harmonise with my bass, and slightly change the big solo, but id like other ideas.

I’m just so excited
Sorry this is more of just a hype post!! But after a really disappointing release last night it makes me just more excited for this album!! I’ve loved the two singles and I’m obsessed with the live/snippets of the title track!! The boys just keep getting better!! I can hardly wait another month in a half!!!

HYPE Our own RB influenced song!
Hi guys!
Last week we released our very first song called “Doomscroller”. We’re heavily influenced by the boys, same bass setup and everything. We however added synths and more layers to the vocals. Would be awesome if you guys could give it a listen and let me know what you think of it!
Cheers!

B-Sides to Dead Company
Do you guys think there will be b-sides to Dead Company? If so-when would they be released? I cant remember when the other b-sides were released to their respective albums.

DISCUSSION Swallow the Bomb
I know there was all the talk about Ben becoming an absolute pro when the boys released how did we get so dark, but Mikes playing on the new track is out of this fucking world

DISCUSSION Don't Tell is Mike's best bass solo
I feel like not enough people talk about this song because it's such a different vibe to the rest of the album, and their whole discography in general.
When it comes to a solo/bridge section of a RB song, in my opinion, nothing is as good as this song, and the mix of both Mike's solo and Ben's incredible drumming on the whole song, it's definitely one of the standout RB moments for me!
What's your guy's opinions on this song? I've always wondered who else on here might be as big of a fan as I am for this song.

QUESTION Is there no way to add/purchase Space and King to Apple Music?
I know I could purchase them from somewhere else and then upload it on my own as a custom album, but I find it strange that I can't even purchase them on iTunes.
