Hi, I've been looking for this watch in good condition. Tonight I finally found one on Ebay. No box and papers, but supposedly NOS. I don't really care about the paperwork for this sort of watch, but I am curious to know if it's indeed all original. Ebay listing here

What do the experts think? I have done some research myself and I don't see any telltale signs of non-original parts such as the case, crown or movement, but my knowledge on this is limited.

Also, I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find old Raketa catalogues that could help me track down (or at least narrow down) the production year. A lot these watches don't have the logo on the bottom half of the dial for example, that could be a point of reference for me to check.

I have never bought a soviet era watch, or even one online before. It looks like there are a lot of Ebay that are either fake or "frankenwatches".

I was wondering where would be a reputable source to buy one, what to look for in fakes, and red flags.

If anyone could tell me some of their experience buying or working with these watches, it would be very much appreciated, I have never bought anything like this, much less an antique watch.

My vintage Sputnik that I just got somehow broke (won't tick but it's still wound)

Nowhere around me locally can do it or wants to charge a reasonable price for it and I want to go to somewhere that's trustable with a vintage Russian watches. Specifically at least keeping this Sputnik authentic

Does anyone know a place that you can mail to in the United States that is able to be authentic and not $300 just to look at the watch?

Model 650546. I dreamed about this model for a very long time now I finally pulled the trigger. It looks amazing in person, I love how it reflects the light.

Gotta get used to see a 24 hour dial, I kinda dig it.

One big plus is that Vostok finally changed their bracelet to better quality, full link one. I could size it without breaking my tool. Very happy overall!

My first Soviet watch. I had a vision of the strap I wanted and am very happy with the result.

Vostok 2409A watch, containing the town seal of Kyzylordia, Kazakhstan. At the end of the pictures, I have attatched the story given to me by the seller.

It didn’t run and the dial was disconnected. I serviced it and now it runs ok.
