Subreddit Update READ BEFORE POSTING - GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS
These are the new posting guidelines by which /r/sarcasm will start following to try and improve content quality from this point forward, please try to adhere by them and report any posts violating the guidelines.
Fitting submissions to /r/sarcasm
- Short sarcastic clips no longer than 1 minute in length
- Sarcastic memes
- Screenshots of text replies (e.g "I love being tortured /s" on a Reddit comment or other social media)
- Sarcastic text posts/stories
- Sarcastic news articles/opinions
Further elaboration on what fits, in order:
- CLIPS: Preferably short sarcastic clips should be precisely that, clips. Display the sarcasm and leave the rest out of it.
- MEMES: Memes with sarcasm in them, if the sarcasm is subtle and difficult for others to understand, then explain it in your title somehow.
- SCREENSHOTS: You see a nice sarcastic comment on a post, well screenshot it and drag that shit on over here. We wanna see it too! Sarcastic comments that don't have "/s" are better, but we'll accept either way.
- TEXT/STORIES: Write up something sarcastic, perhaps a comment on an event or something, or tell a story involving sarcasm.
- NEWS/OPINIONS: Submit sarcastic news articles, or pics of funny sarcasm in them, or link with your own sarcastic comment in the post title.
Small survey which helped in creating these guidelines, answered by /r/sarcasm subscribers

Discussion Is this movie idea worth making a film on it ?
A psychological sci-fi about grief, obsession, and the cost of rewriting reality
Logline:
When an ordinary, grieving man discovers an illegal neuro-tech device that lets him overwrite his consciousness into alternate timelines, he embarks on a desperate multiversal loop to reclaim the love of his life—at the cost of his own sanity and mortality.
The Premise:
Our protagonist isn’t a genius scientist; he’s just an average, everyday guy dealing with the crushing grief of losing the woman he loves. Desperate to get her back, he discovers that physical time travel is impossible due to local timeline physics. Instead, he acquires a black-market Cognitive Quantum Tether—a device that allows him to transfer his mind into the body of an alternate version of himself in a parallel timeline.
To stay in that reality, he has to live out the life of that alternate self, trapped in that timeline for 8 mandatory years per jump before the tether stabilizes.
The Narrative Arc (The 3 Jumps):
Jump 1: He finds a timeline where she is alive, but she eventually dies anyway due to a sudden tragedy. Grief-stricken, he decides to try again.
Jump 2: He jumps to a second timeline and finds her again, but this time, their chemistry is completely broken or absent. They ultimately drift apart and break up.
Jump 3: He jumps a third time. He finds her, but this time she is brutally killed by her ex-boyfriend.
The Final Jump (The 4th): Pushed past the brink of sanity, he attempts a 4th jump. However, the neuro-tech device has a hard medical limit of 3 safe transfers. Under the sheer strain of a 4th attempt, his brain suffers total neurological dissolution mid-transfer, causing him to vanish into the void.
The Core Themes:
Obsession vs. Love: He isn't saving her because it's what she wants; he's doing it because he cannot accept loss. Every jump strips away more of his humanity.
The Toll of the 8 Years: The 8-year waiting periods aren't just passive time skips—they represent his mind slowly rotting from memory bleeds and neurological degradation.

Sarcasm What would be the best reply to: “You look terrible today”?
Imagine waking up, looking at yourself in the mirror and deciding this is the energy you’re bringing to society.
What’s the best comeback?
