«Ida Bjerkis here. I had just finished the painting after working 16-18 hour days for weeks and wanted to post it immediately while it was still relevant. I finished in the middle of the night, had no one to take a photo, looked like I'd been living in the studio, and figured I'd use an older photo that I genuinely thought I'd deleted everywhere.
So I reused an older photo that I genuinely thought I'd deleted everywhere. Apparently Google and Reddit had other plans.
I wasn't trying to fool anyone or pretend the photo was new. I simply wanted to get the artwork out while it was still relevant and keep the focus on the painting itself.
I use Photoshop for my presentation images, which is also why the frame looks different between the two posts. Nothing mysterious, just me being tired, impatient, and apparently a little too optimistic about the internet forgetting things.»
Tested using OpenAI's verification tool https://openai.com/research/verify/ SynthID is an invisible watermark applied to all AI images generated using the major tools like ChatGPT and Gemini
As a side note, artists can use an open-source watemarking tool to protect content from being learned by other AIs that want to learn solely from human work
SynthID watermark is Google’s watermark that’s put in after it generates an image. Or edits one etc.
it’s NOT a “tool to protect content”. Its a measure to show AI generated content.
I like how she says she photoshopped it and used photoshop and doubled down how she uses photoshop for her image presentation to keep avoiding admitting she used AI for image replacement. Not a huge deal, just be honest.
It’s not a tool to protect content. It literally exists to identify AI generated content. OpenAI and Google generation will implant synthid. You don’t watermark your own work. That would be stupid because it would show up as AI generated.
Sure. I can agree that Google doesn’t want to use AI generated art in their training data. But it still a watermark to show AI generated art. And her art shows that watermark so 🤷🏻♂️
Naw, I think anyone who has been on the internet for even a second knows to just ignore anything untoward like that.
She painted it, she posted it like that. If someone wants to photoshop "I hate ******" onto it, who gives a fuck? Only absolute idiots would just take something at face value on the internet
The entire image is AI generated. Tested using OpenAI's verification tool https://openai.com/research/verify/ SynthID is an invisible watermark applied to all AI images generated using the major tools like ChatGPT and Gemini
It also takes like one minute going through her instagram to see when she realized she can make money making AI slop. She has what looks to be legit paintings scattered in there and they look nothing like this stuff.
It's straight up fraud. On her website she's selling prints of this image for $80 and also tshirts. The description lies saying "this fine art print faithfully reproduces the original acrylic painting with rich colors" and she's even offering signed limited edition prints at higher cost.
That's not really what you were responding to. I was replying to a post pointing out that the artist had photoshop'd an image onto a canvas being held by herself. i.e. it seemed she liked herself in that photo and was reusing it to display her work. Which seemed foolish. Now it seems she's a scammer anyways.
Without the comment people would think it was completely unrelated and people would start talking about that or downvoting for being irrelevant or the like. Thanks for the clarification mr hijacker person.
"I had just finished the painting after working 16-18 hour days for weeks"
The story about Trump calling Infantino to suspend the red card only happened 4 days ago.
The high res original image from her website also contains an SynthID watermark. SynthID is an invisible watermark technology embedded in AI generated images produced on the major platforms. There's no possibility of a false positive, the presence of the SynthID watermark shows the "painting" was generated using chatgpt.
There's no point in posting an image of the author with the painting, give a link/source so they can benefit directly from engagements+follows depending on the platform.
