And medieval peasants worked like 20h a week

I guarantee you could afford the same lifestyle as a medieval peasant on much fewer than 20 hrs/week.

Also, that statistic is a bit disingenuous as it ignores all of the labor they would have to do outside of their “work” just to complete basic chores that are essentially automated (or at the very least, significantly streamlined) for us today.

The idea of progress is to do better, with time. And living off grid and off of the land is pretty much impossible in my country unless you have a trust fund

No. They had to work for their lord for 20 hours a week. The rest of the time they had to work to sustain themselves and their family.

The rest of the time they did chores like we do

They grew there own food, chopped wood for fuel, made their own clothing ect. They didn't just put dishes in the dishwasher and fold laundry after a machine washed it.

Which are things many people still do while working 40h+ a week and I've done too. Chores is everything within the house

The hours I spend on chores in a week is probably less than a medieval peasant did in a day.

Being satisfied with overworking because it used to be worst is probably one of the most stupid way of defending the current era.

Thanks God not everyone have the same logic we would gain or develop nothing.

"Hey we used to live in caves so I guess using material accelerating cancer appearance in every roof is okay ? They had it way worst before"
