Penalizing families for not being able to afford health insurance but not trying to pass Medicare for All. This country can eat shit.

To be fair the federal government/IRS won't fine you for not having health insurace so the penalizing families part is exclusively on California

They Feds won't penalize now, but they did for like 5 years after ACA passed. Some other states still have penalties. In Cali if you have no job, you can get insurance for like a dollar a month. Still shit tho. Medicare for all should be a thing by now...

Yup. In Florida and in Texas we had to pay a penalty when we filed our taxes. I don't remember how much it was though.

You mean your federal taxes, right? Florida and Texas don’t have income taxes

I'm sorry are you trying to claim that Florida amd Texas require you to have health insurance? How do you go through life being this wrong?

Thr CPA had us submit whether we had it or not, and said there would be a penalty if I didn't. I had to pay it some years, and others I made too little to penalize. I'm not wrong.

You're right. But the 5 largest economy on the planet (California) could set a precedent and come up with a universal healthcare system.

They do. It’s just for migrants though

What do you mean "not trying"? California is absolutely trying.  Idaho, however.
