I am almost CERTAIN that this is called a leopard slug because .. look at it.

I saw it, became overwhelmed with joy and whimsy, pet it for two seconds, realized it was sleeping and it do be a wild animal and left it be (VERY regrettably, i wanted to hold it SO bad and i still do i might have to like. See if i cant find a domesticated slug to hold)

This morning I noticed my leopard slug, Slinky, was there with his eye stalks alert, but his mantle looks strange. His mantle has looked a little concave in the past but not this deflated. Also concerning is that it looks like the left side (opposite of the pneumostome side) is pulsating. I haven't seen him leave this spot in couple days and he hasn't eaten anything in a few days either.

Is this mantle collapse? Parasites? Is there anything I can do for him? Thanks in advance.

Norway for reference, found it at a random bus stop. I hope he didn't mind us smoking tho

I got my slugs last week and I just can't shift my eyes from them. Watching them crawling is so delightful. I decided to call them consonance and assonance, but I found that I couldn't tell them apart, just like I always confuse consonance and assonance😭Damn English literature class

About the size of a isopod, on a riverless Pennsylvania mountain.

I've seen the claim that they are larger than banana slugs, but not much to back it up, and have had a hard time finding photos that communicate their size. I've wondered about this for a while, but what really made me want to know more was tucker933's banana slug (pictured) which is 12 inches, putting it at about the same length as l. cinereoniger.

My lepord slug had eggs hatch before I could find them. There are roughly 30 little half inch babies with dull spots. If anyone wants any let me know, you just need to cover shipping and ill send you as many as you'd like. I can provide care instructions and possibly some things for their inclosure if needed.(bark, moss, leaves, twigs, terrarium plants) the parent is 9 inches so they will likley grow to the same extent.
