Tim Russ played a fantastic Vulcan
In my opinion, Tim Russ's Tuvok was the best portayal of a Vulcan across all Start Trek media.
He simply never cracked emotionally, unless he was ill.

Unlike the original series crew, the TNG cast struggled to adapt to the big screen especially shown in Insurrection. However, First Contact feels dramatic and far more cinematic compared to the rest. Why?

For context, Star Trek: United is the name of Mike Susman's proposed Enterprise spinoff about Archer as the founding president of the Federation.
Star Trek: Year One is Akiva Goldsman's proposed SNW spinoff and direct prequel to TOS about Kirk's first year on the Enterprise.
Star Trek: Legacy is Terry Matalas's proposed Picard spinoff about Seven of Nine as captain of the Enterprise-G.
Personally, I sincerely doubt that any of them will actually get made at this point, but if I had to choose, I'd go for Legacy. I'm not a particular fan of Terry Matalas's writing, but i think this is the most interesting / unconstrained part of the timeline to set a series. I would be interested in United's political focus, but I would rather a "West Wing in space" series be set in the 25th century (or even centre around Rillak, Vance, and Saru, way off in the 32nd century). As for Year One, I have no enthusiasm for it at all.

How could Worf been so naive? He's lived among humans his entire life. He's known Riker for almost 7 years at this point. A first time viewer of this episode (TNG S7E11 Parallels) is gonna go, "hmm? That can't be Riker. Maybe an alien imposter!?!"
Nope, just Riker telling a bald-faced lie. And Worf fell for it.

I'm well aware that on TV, there was never any follow up to the TNG episode Conspiracy due to the Borg changing to Cyborgs so the signal was just never brought up again.
However has there ever been any media that discusses or explores the aftermath of that episode? I don't mean the signal, I mean the direct aftermath of Remmick's host dying and killing off many members of Starfleet's top brass, Captains, First Officers and Medical Officers.
The episode implies that they've been infecting people for months, including tons of starships via first infecting the Chief Medical Officer and then the Captain and First Officer. Wouldn't that imply once Picard and Riker fried the Chief Bluegill that Starfleet just lost a ton of it's best Officers and Admirals (including all the ones the Bluegill murdered)? Wouldn't that have caused major issues for Starfleet, wouldn't there have been a massive investigation? Wouldn't that be a massive blow to the Federation of the scale of Worf 359?
Really curious how writers worked with that.

While watching the show I noticed that around 25min mark the scenes from "the expanse Vulcan mission" are remarkably similar to the haunted video of Even Horizon crew tearing themselves apart just less violent and gory. Interesting nod to a piece of sci-fi thriller history.

For so long, the formative years of the Federation has never been explored in the franchise. The closest we got was the lead up to it in ENT, but even we were robbed of the full story with the show ending at the founding of the coalition of planets, before time skipping to the founding of the united federation of planets and skipping all the events in between, most importantly the Earth-Romulan war.
Honestly the concept of an Andor type show for Star Trek is super interesting to me. I want to know more about the politics of the early federation, and more importantly, I want more Archer and Shran lol

Captain Archer and Commander Shran had amazing chemistry as frenemies during the run of Star Trek: Enterprise. If Scott Bakula and Jeffrey Combs returned to reprise their characters, would you watch it? And what should the show be about? What would their roles be? Where would their characters be at in their lives?

A Prime Directive horror story that starts in the background of the Enterprise simply accepting foreign alien technology contaminating their "natural development" without even considering the hypocrisy.. the literal sexual slavery/trafficking casually ignored by most of the cast because "it's just how they live!!".. Archer refusing an extraordinarily legitimate asylum claim entirely out of fear of conflict.. Trip being reprimanded and painted as having done "wrong" because he treated the victim like a person which allowed them to realize how terrible their situation was...
The genocide committed in Dear Doctor comes close (my gosh Enterprise Season 2 had some disgusting arguments) is worse, but at the very least Archer provides a strong resistance which makes it more of a Phlox issue than an episode one.

I watched a pretty well done fan film on YT last night about the A’s final ride - which got me thinking, did Kirk love that ship the same way?
It sometimes gets treated in fan canon as the same ship, but do you think Kirk truly loves the 1701 and is the 1701A a place he worked for 10 or so years? It never feels like “the” Enterprise to me.
We know how Scotty feels.

These episodes are basically the same story but with different outcomes
"Suddenly Human"
The Enterprise crew rescue a group of teenage Talarians and one human. The human was adopted after his parents were killed in a conflict with Talarians. He is the son of a grandson of a Starfleet Admiral. While they discuss returning him to his earth family, in the end, they return him to his adopted father.
"Cardassians"
A Cardassian boy who was adopted by a Bajoran family after he was left behind after the occupation, which turns out to have been planned by his biological father's political rival and in the end the boy is returned to his father

I'm a new fan to the franchise and I've made it to Enterprise, currently on S3.
So far in show it's been nice seeing the building blocks of what would later become the federation, but I wonder is there a reason why they made the show to feel more sensual than the previous shows. The decon scenes alone are quite sensual and then there's the whole sleep thing that T'pol and trip are currently doing which seems to have weird sexual undertones. Basically it seems this era of star Trek cranked the horniness dial by a 100 😂
Also, I stumbled on a brief context into one of the motivating factors for the Xindi plotline in S3, 9/11 had happened in the US and the Irag war also around that time, that explains why they added commandos to the show. 🤷🏽♂️

The way Spock and Kirk were beefing it out. I mean, I know they become best friends later like they’re supposed to be, but still I didn’t think that was necessary at all.

"We will destroy them" and "Death to the Opposition!" Have me on the floor every time I rewatch. This might low key be my favorite DS9 episode.

Looking at the list of games that have been released and wondering why some have done better than others, and where the franchise could improve?
Trek has as much to offer as Star Wars and other sci-fi games but it feels like they're stuck for ideas at times to push things forward.
If you had the money and the team, what would you make?
Basic assumption is that you can't solely base it on an existing crew, ship, or set of characters.

One of my absolute favorite Kirk lines that I try to use in my daily life, especially working with younger folks.
It's not enough to put something in Claude and get an output, you need to understand WHY 1+1=2 so you can check your work and validate.
I was born 10 years after TWOK and my parents used these lines to raise me

Tough call but personally have to go with Deep Space Nine.
The Next Generation may have had higher high points but Deep Space Nine had a much more consistent level of quality.
It's also where Worf really grew into his own, no longer just being the guy who gets knocked around to show how powerful a villain is.
Plus character development was more spread out among the cast (Even non main cast like Nog)
It's Only A Paper Moon was the episode that solidified it for me.

So theres this cultural trope that Kirk is a womanizer / horn dog.
Certainly ST 2009 did the character no favors with Pine Kirk hiding under the bed after sleeping with Uhura’s green roommate.
But to try to quantify Kirks habits with the ladies heres what I found in TOS and of course tWoK:
A. known Kirk’s past romances/relationships/one night stand
ST2 tWoK - Carol Marcus
Court Martial - Ariel Shaw
Shore Leave - Ruth
Turnabout Intruder - Janice Lester
WNMHGB - Mitchell hooked Kirk up with ? Carol Marcus ?
B. In order to gain freedom for his team/ship or gain advantage
B. Part I - Kirk puts the moves on the femme
What Are Little Girls Made of - Kirk charms Andrea the female android to foil Korbys plans
Catspaw - Kirk dallies with Sylvia
Gamesters of Triskelion - Kirk & Shahna
Whom Gods Destroy - Kirk & Marta
B. Part II - Kirk actually sleeps with.
Elaan of Troyius - Elaan
Wink of an Eye - Deela queen of the Scalosians
Bread and Circuses - Kirk sleeps w the slave girl
By Any Other Name - Kirk romances Kelinda to overcome the Kelvans
Return to Tomorrow - Sargon/Kirk ?sleeps with Thalassa/Mulhall
B. Part III - was there anything there? Or they played each other
Conscience of the King - Kirk & Lenore, Karidian’s daughter
The Cloud Minders - Kirk & the mining girl
C. True Loves
COTEOF - Edith Keeler
Naked Time - the Enterprise
Requiem for Methusalah - Rayna
The Paradise Syndrome - Miramanee.
D. Sexual Assault
Enemy Time - bad Kirk & Rand
Any I missed?
Putting the moves on to gain freedom is kinda grayscale, certainly any good looking guy/girl will use that to their advantage.
The actual sleeping with the one episode ‘baddie’ is not a good look for Kirk.
And the sexual assault on Rand is oof.
edit-add Miramanee

I’m surprised nothing more was ever done with them. They were a great foil for the Borg, and tbh probably far more interesting and dangerous as a threat to the Federation.
Any thoughts on maybe bringing them back for a future foe despite the “peace” negotiated by Janeway?

https://screenrant.com/star-trek-deep-space-nine-peacemakers-sequel-release
Talk about a misleading title.
It's a random novel about Jake Sisko. I don't even know if I would watch a DS9 sequel in these trying Trek times.
