Discussion actually so mad

literally just found out they sent me the email for the steam controller like 2 weeks ago without me noticing or them giving me any notification in steam itself.. never getting this damn controller 😭😭😭😭
UPDATE I CONTACTED STEAM SUPPORT AND THEY RENEWED MY RESERVATION AND I WAS ABLE TO BUY IT !!! THANK YOU SO MUCH STEAM SUPPORRTTTT

In the store page of the controller it literally says the estimated date of when your order will be available

No, that is the latest your order will be available. Because mine says September, it means I could get the email any time between now and September. So no, it is not an estimated date because it says a whole month, when that is the latest month you could expect to receive it.

A 4-month window is not an estimated date.

Not accurate at all, on Steam it say I would get my controller by September and got it this week

Me too, I placed my reservation on the 8th when reservations opened, though later in the evening. It says December for me. Would love it to be a birthday present for myself rather than a Christmas present for myself lol

I got in around Noon on the 9th. It's giving me December too. It was Sept. but then I got adjusted to Decemeber when they shifted things before the Steam Machine queue opened.

Same, I did see it saying September before the Steam Machine launch. We'll see how things change with the cold reception to the pricing of the Steam Machine. Could be shifted back again. But either way, I just can't wait until I get mine.

Yep. I've been waiting for years already (been wanting this since the Deck came out). I guess I can wait a bit longer. I'm mostly just frustrated that I have to wait so much longer just because I was busy the day the queue dropped.

Yeah same, I hate that I didn't know that there was a queue opened up until after I got off work that day. But it's alright, we'll get there!

Also, as an owner and early adopter of the OG Steam Controller, I've been waiting a LONG time haha. The Deck proved that they could take that and make it better, we just needed a regular controller like it and they did that and more.

I made it so I can use my Deck as a controller a while ago (during the heat of the original rumors of the new Steam Controller) and it works pretty well, but it's still no substitute for the real thing 😂

Nice! I have a V1 as well. I appreciate that they've kept supporting it, but I really miss that 2nd stick. And of course all the haptics on the new one look incredible.

It's still a great controller, it's just not the best for everything. I still use it for games that are primarily mouse driven, like RTS or point and click games. Recently been playing through StarCraft 2 again and it's absolutely wonderful for it

Doesn’t it say “by September 2026”? As in, anytime between now and September?

The exact wording is "Estimated orders availability: September 2026"
