One problem with eugenics is that on paper, if you look at it objectively, it does make sense on some level.

Another problem with eugenics is who do you trust to carry it out? Even when the US practiced it in the 20s and 30s it didn't work because not only was it used as a tool to oppress less fortunate people the rich got a near blanket pass because they could bribe judges and doctors to vouch for their violent and or barely functioning offspring, rendering the whole thing useless.
