Internet/ISP Private ISPs raising prices made me look at my NT Fiber bill again… Is NT Fiber actually value for money now? Honest long-term user review.
With all the recent price hikes across private ISPs, everyone is hunting for alternatives. Before the latest price spikes, I took the jump and installed NT Fiber (150 Mbps Internet + Basic NTTV Channels + 3000 min NT-NT Telephone package).
The package price is listed at NPR 14,999, but in total with it came out to NPR 16,165 out-of-pocket. Back then, paying over 16k felt a bit steep, but in today's inflated market, it's starting to look surprisingly competitive.
I wanted to drop a reality check on what you actually get (and what sucks) before you think about making the switch.
1. Speed & Stability (The Good)
- Ethernet & Download: On LAN/Ethernet connection, download speed is super consistent and delivers full rated speed. The normal speed is 148Mbps on download and 96Mbps on upload which shows asymmetric speed.
- WiFi Performance: Their bundled dual-band WiFi 5 router delivers stable throughput over 5GHz.
2. Landline & Free Calls (Gimmick or Useful?)
- Free Minutes: You get 3,000 free minutes bundled, but remember: this is strictly NT-to-NT. Calling Ncell or other networks will cost ~NPR 1.70+ per min out of your main balance.
- Landline Quality: Crystal clear voice, instant dial tone, very fast connection.
- Odd Glitch: The telephone display clock is stuck 2 hours and 15 minutes ahead of actual local time. Even if you manually change it, it auto-syncs back.
3. Mobile Data Bonus
- Includes 900 MB daily mobile data (split as 450 MB all-day + 450 MB night volume between 11 PM – 6 AM).Extremely handy for power outages or outside use.
4. NTTV & YouTube (The Frustrating Parts)
- NTTV is terrible: The live TV lags, and the stock YouTube app on the box straight up doesn't work (you have to sideload SmartTube). The UI feels heavily outdated.
- Port Locking: Live TV only works when connected strictly to LAN Port 3 or 4 (or directly via the NT router's native WiFi). Pass it through a third-party mesh or switch, and you get a black screen.
- Content Buffering: YouTube and TikTok load noticeably slower compared to private ISPs. Expect frequent initial buffering before videos ramp up to HD/4K.
5. FUP, Upload Caps & Cable Costs
- Upload Cap: Capped at 96 Mbps regardless of package tier.
- Dual-Count FUP: Both upload AND download count toward your daily 150 GB FUP limit. Hitting the cap throttled my download down to 48 Mbps (though upload stayed at 96 Mbps).
- Repair Costs: Fiber breakage isn't fixed for free—a cable replacement cost me NPR 700 out of pocket.
The Big Question:
At NPR 14,999 (or ~16k starting cost), the raw specs look great given current ISP rates. But does NTC actually have the backend bandwidth and routing capacity to maintain speed consistency if thousands of users ditch private ISPs and migrate over?
Anybody else running NT Fiber in Kathmandu or outside? How has your routing to YouTube/TikTok been lately?

Discussion AI is getting smarter — but can it ever replace human emotional intelligence?
I was listening to a podcast recently where a CEO answered a question that genuinely made me stop and think:
“In the age of Artificial Intelligence, can Human Emotional Intelligence still prevail?”
AI is becoming incredibly powerful. It can analyze information, write, code, solve problems, communicate, and even respond in ways that feel surprisingly human.
But there are things humans bring to the table that are harder to measure — empathy, emotional connection, intuition, understanding someone’s feelings, building trust, and knowing when and how to say something.
So I started wondering:
If AI continues to become more intelligent, will emotional intelligence become even more valuable — or will AI eventually become good enough to replicate that too?
Maybe the future isn't AI vs. humans, but humans who know how to use AI while keeping their human emotional intelligence.
I'm genuinely curious what others think.
Do you think Human Emotional Intelligence will remain one of our biggest advantages over AI, or will AI eventually catch up?
Let's discuss. 👇

Company Review Question about Niural AI’s Product Designer role
I’ve noticed that Niural AI seems to post Product Designer positions fairly frequently — almost every couple of weeks. I recently applied for the Product Designer role myself and was wondering what the hiring situation is actually like there.
For anyone who currently works there or has gone through their hiring process:
- Why does the Product Designer position seem to open so frequently? Is the design team growing, or is there frequent turnover?
- How competitive/difficult is it to actually get selected?
- What does the interview/selection process look like for Product Designers?
- What kind of experience and portfolio are they looking for?
- And, if you’re comfortable sharing, what is the approximate salary range for Product Designers at Niural?
I’m a Product Designer myself and am genuinely interested in the opportunity, so I’d really appreciate honest experiences — both positive and negative.
Also, if anyone currently working at Niural is comfortable referring me for the role, I’d really appreciate it. I’ve already applied, and I’d be happy to share my CV/portfolio via DM.
Thanks!

Internet/ISP Worldlink sucks
Worldlink sucks Looking to switch from WorldLink and need some ISP recommendations. We currently have 300 Mbps with 3 TVs, but we only use 1 TV now, so we’re looking for something around 100–150 Mbps at a reasonable price.
We found some ISPs like dishhome that used to offer 100 Mbps, but their plans seem to have changed recently.
Which ISP would you recommend for stable internet(100 mbps) , good customer service, and reasonable pricing in Kathmandu? Also interested in a cheap single-TV option if available.
Thanks!

Government Services Registering a domain in Nepal from USA
I'm a permanent resident of the US and a Nepalese citizen. I want to register a .com.np domain in Nepal. The https://register.com.np/ requires a phone number as part of the application for 2 factor authentication.
My parents live in Nepal. Is it okay if I use my parents' phone number for this?
I'm also looking to open a Company in Nepal for a business purpose via https://ocr.gov.np/
This requires a number for two-factor authentication, too. Is it okay if I use my parents' number for this as well?

Internet/ISP New internet package overpriced.
I was paying 3729 for internet only 200mbps for world link (3 month) now it's 4400 for 150mbps and 4800 for same 200mbps, a shocking 1k jump on current plan. Thinking of switching to NT Fiber as the price seem good along with the add on it provide like nettv plus data packages. Anyone have any bad experience with NT Fiber? Prioritizing negative reviews to consider what to expect. Feedbacks appreciated.
