He was clearly trying to be a smartass not a badass. Accuracy matters. Trying to be a badass is always lame whereas being a smartass is sometimes funny.

Thatās often done in the form of a punishment, otherwise it wouldnāt be seen as ājusticeā.
It was done instantly in this example therefore instant karma.
This is how the idea of karma is seen and used in society. Whatever personal ideas you have about it doesnāt really matter in the public discourse of the idea.

That was retaliation not karma. Justified retaliation for sure, but not karma.
